My Italian cowboy experience! 1st off my server and service top notch hands down the best service in Sheldon far none! My 1st time Walking into the Italian cowboy we weren't sure what to expect (what is a Italian cowboy?) Was it yet another bar? A restaurant? Well I'm happy to report it is a wonderful restaurant! We walked in and were greeted by friendly and enthusiastic staff. The 1st thing my child(8) noticed was a zebra head on the wall which brings me to the decor which is very tasteful with lots of animals and signs to look at. The whole atmosphere was warm, inviting, and friendly. It was refreshing to say the least. Menu service and the whole 9. Let's start with my child's perspective, he was given his own menu which included crayons and a hat that he could color on which was his favorite part of the experience, I'm not gonna lie I also enjoyed coloring with him which give me a nostalgic feeling of being a kid and going out with my parents to eat. The menu for adults was simple but I feel it had enough options available to satisfy my needs. The beer and wine list had a generous selection, with the special menu beefing it up. Drinks and food! Okay the part everyone wants to know about it! As we waited to order food orders would occasionally come past us, which made it extremely hard to decide what to order. It was a bad idea to come hungry... or was it? I'll explain that more in a moment. We started with a appetizer we had the cowboy brisket nachos, cowboy wings, and mozzarella sticks. Brisket nachos- They came to the table sizzling hot with a generous amount of brisket chunks a large helping to of cheese! Which on a side note chip to cheese ratios are very important to me. Topped with sour cream. When that pan hit the table my mouth started watering my eyes widened up wounding how we where gonna eat this and still manage the main course. I'm happy to report we finished the nachos down to the last crumb And they did not disappoint. I would go back just for these. Cowboy wings- I can't say much about they wings I was only able to sample one. I was preoccupied with the nachos. I was impressed with the flavor of it. It was tender and a slight kick and it paired well with the ranch dressing. Mozzarella sticks- everyone with kids knows the struggle of eating with a picky child so ordering these was a must! I don't think I've ever had a bad mozzarella stick and these were just as good as any they came out hot and the cheese inside was melted. I might also add they paired well with the red meat sauce. So Drinks nothing too special to write home about the blue moon came out with a orange slice and a glass and the Corona was served with a lime. The coke products tasted like coke products so 10/10 on the drinks. Leading up to the main event The salad-was a good size it had tomato's, olives, pickle, carrots, and Croutons. I'm not very Exotic so I had ranch dressing. It looked good and was on point. The soup- I was rather disappointed I didn't order the soup myself, but was fortunate enough to sample a few spoons full or it. It was the perfect potato soup creamy cheesy goodness oh did I mention it had bacon in it. 10/10 Table Bread- one of my new favorites! Watch out Texas Roadhouse. The bread came out to the table it was perfect temperature it had a nice crust on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The whipped butter was also excellent. 20/10 Okay let's talk about food. Pepperoni flatbread for children- it looked really good. It was hot the cheese was nicely melted and the child ate the whole thing. Fact that it comes with salad or soup was an added bonus. Chicken fettuccine Alfredo- The wife had this and the portion was huge she didn't finish it all but I'm happy to report it's even good the next day. I did sample her plate when it was fresh the chicken was nice and tender and the sauce was creamy. Brisket Dinner- I was torn between so many things and after some back and forth with our waitress I settled on this and It did not disappoint. The brisket was tender cut into perfect slices with a nice hint of smoked flavor. The mashed potatoes where in my opinion the best in town they where hot and had great texture. Other food items on our table included Spaghetti and meatballs Brisket burrito Shrimp Alfredo (I can't comment much on these since I didn't get to eat them, I can tell you they looked delicious and nobody at our table had anything negative to say about any of it) Do you want Dessert? Yes yes and yes! Okay so it took everything I had left to stomach to even think about dessert. But I'm glad we did we had the bread pudding and let me tell you... you have to have the bread pudding. We used to go to netherlanders just for the bread pudding. Not any more, we're going to Italian cowboy for bread pudding. The portion was huge topped with ice cream. And worth every bite. I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday in February. I ordered food To-Go for myself and my aunt (we would have dined-in but ate in the car because of COVID concerns). We each had a lunch portion of chicken fettuccini Alfredo and 2 diet Coke's. The wait for our order was maybe only 10 minutes (which was quick in my opinion for fresh made-to-order food). The food was delicious, clearly homemade, a hefty lunch portion, well seasoned, and perfectly hot. 10 out of 10!! The young woman who was working the register and taking orders was very busy but incredibly sweet! Thank you for a great lunch suggestion and for giving me the inside scoop on your Mom's cooking. I'm looking forward to eating here again soon! So thankful and happy to see a perky new business with great food and family! Omg I almost forgot the HOMEMADE PIE!!
