In May 2021, I contracted with ITAMCAP (Italian American Citizenship Assistance Program, Key Biscayne, FL) to help me obtain Italian citizenship. They came highly recommended, and I was told the full process would take about two years, consistent with public reviews. After intake, I was told in June 2021 that my case looked great and document gathering would take 9-12 months. It didn't. I followed up repeatedly with little progress -- July 2022, December 2022, still incomplete. Only after three follow-up emails in one week did I get a response: on February 15, 2023, ITAMCAP confirmed my documents were complete. Total time: 21 months against a quoted 9-12. In hindsight a red flag, but I chalked it up to COVID-era delays and moved on. With documents ready, no consulate appointments were available for over two years. My sister, filing under the same 2021 contract, got an appointment through her location and proceeded normally. I couldn't, so ITAMCAP recommended filing judicially through the Italian courts -- quoted at roughly 1.5 years. I agreed on May 3, 2023, while still watching for a consulate opening. In January 2024, I was told my paperwork had been sent to Rome and we were just waiting on a court registration number. In March 2024, a consulate slot opened up; I asked ITAMCAP which path was faster. They advised staying judicial, since my case was "already filed" and documents were in Rome awaiting a registration number. I cancelled the consulate appointment based on that advice. In November 2024, news broke of an impending "Minor Issue" ruling that would limit how many generations back citizenship-by-descent claims could reach. My sister and I asked ITAMCAP how this affected us, and after repeated follow-ups got a response in February 2025 -- 1.5 years after being told the case was filed, I was now told their legal team was "still reviewing" my file. When I pushed back on the contradiction, ITAMCAP backtracked, said they miscommunicated, and claimed it actually had been filed months earlier. The law changed in March 2025, with a cutoff date: cases filed before March 27, 2025 would still fall under the old rule. Based on everything I'd been told, I believed I was grandfathered in and simply awaiting a court date. My case was heard in Rome this summer and denied. ITAMCAP's owner told me the retained law firm presented the case, but it was denied because it had actually been filed in March 2026 -- over a year past the cutoff, and more than two years after I was first told it had already been filed. Going directly to the law firm, I confirmed the real timeline: they didn't receive my documents until January 2025, and didn't receive power of attorney until August 2025 -- five months after the cutoff. My sister, filing through the consulate before the cutoff using documents from our shared 2021 contract, is on track to obtain citizenship. When I raised these discrepancies with owner Giorgio, he took no responsibility. He pointed to ITAMCAP's internal Airtable log; when I noted it had gaps that didn't match the dates I'd been given, he told me to just trust him. When I asked for the Airtable data to document the gaps myself, I was told records were no longer maintained. He also argued ITAMCAP bears no liability since they don't issue documents or citizenship decisions -- a position I reject, since per our contract his team was responsible for compiling and submitting materials and managing the law firm. When I requested documentation -- proof records were sent to the firm, correspondence confirming the 2024 filing, or court records -- I was told it would only be provided if I first signed a liability release. I declined. I've since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Giorgio maintains no false statements were made, framing this as a "disagreement over administrative status terminology." I disagree. I was told explicitly, in writing: "the attorney did not just submit your case to the court -- in fact, your case was submitted several months ago." The case wasn't actually filed until over a year after that statement. That's not a terminology dispute -- it's a false statement of fact that cost me the ability to pursue other filing paths. Giorgio himself acknowledged the case was denied because it was filed after the cutoff, two years after I signed the contract, yet takes zero accountability despite written evidence of the misrepresentation. I'm happy to share that evidence with anyone who asks. My frustration isn't with the outcome -- I understand the law changed. It's that this was likely preventable, and Giorgio won't own his company's role in it. I would strongly discourage anyone from working with ITAMCAP. read more

Our Executive agreement did not come to completion. The team complete dropped everything once the ban happened and jure sanguine was dishonored. We never received any documents they ordered as well and spent nearly $4-5k out of the agreed $11-15k for us three to obtain. The funny thing is our uncle, aunt & cousins have citizenship, but now we can't. Truly do not recommend trusting these so called Italians. read more

I paid $3,880 for ITAMCAP's "Executive Full Service" package, backed by a written guarantee that I'd be refunded if found ineligible for Italian citizenship. In October 2024, they sent a vague email saying some cases "might" be impacted by legal changes -- but never told me that my case likely no longer qualified. They didn't follow up with specifics, didn't offer guidance, and didn't begin the refund process. I only confirmed my ineligibility months later, after I reached out myself. While they did pause billing, they continued promoting "guaranteed" results and suggested I keep paying toward the $9,000 total -- even after I was clearly ineligible. An important Zoom meeting with the director was canceled just 17 minutes before it began and was never rescheduled. They mistakenly forwarded me another client's case notes. They never seemed aware of my case, and I am starting to wonder if the whole operation is an investment scheme. My formal refund request in May 2025 has been ignored. If you've had a similar experience, you can file a complaint with the Florida Attorney General: https://legacy.myfloridalegal.com/contact.nsf/contact?Open&Section=Citizen_Services If you're considering ITAMCAP, make sure you're reading beyond the curated reviews -- they don't tell the full story. read more

disgusting total scam bait and switch 8k and 0 to show for it perhaps all of us unhappy should get together and file a suit they knew my case was not going to happen so they charged me more money to hire counsel in sicily they are clever and put no refunds in their contract working on interviewing contract attorneys read more

Just like the other negative reviews, I feel scammed and taken advantage of. There was no good faith gesture on their part to issue even a partial refund after the citizenship law changed. In fact, they tried to get more money out of me by telling me that they could still try to push the case through. Still trying to squeeze you for another dime, even when they knew there's no chance. Shame! If others want my support in a class action lawsuit, please leave me a message. read more

Signed on with them in 2022. They were helpful at first. Had my appointment in 2024 and the Consulate gave me additional work to prove my lineage (name descrepancies in vital docs between Italian and Americanized names mostly, but some other things ITAMcap should have caught/warned me about prior to the appointment based on our contractual agreements). I reached out to ITAMcap after my appointment and told them about this additional homework. They said they'd help me with half the items, but would not touch the name descrepancies situation. Despite agreeing to help me obtain the necessary docs, I ended up providing all of the docs to them myself. ITAMcap has been sitting on these documents for the past 2 years, stalling my application from being completed. When I reach out to them, they either don't answer or give me excuses. I have requested they send me everything they have multiple times and they said once over a year ago that they would send my documents to me, but never did. I have recently sent requests for the return of all of my documents and a refund, and they've ignored every one of them. I've had to re-request all of my documents from government agencies myself, and have started getting them apostilled on my own. In 2 weeks, I have done more than ITAMcap has done in 2 years. There are better companies out there to obtain citizenship. There's also a very helpful youtube channel called "Italian Citizenship Assistance" that I wish I had found before I reached out to ITAMcap. I would highly recommend going through them before you use ITAMcap. read more

PLEASE pay close attention to the recent negative reviews. They are spot on to what I experienced. I sent the company my documents and literally no one reviewed them before mailing off to the consulate. Five months later with no communication from the staff I find out from the consulate that the birth certificate wasn't the right form and was rejected. The office never responds to my emails and has no answer to why the staff did nothing but shuffle papers around for several thousand dollars. Now they want me to pay double the original cost to redo what they screwed up. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB to hopefully save others from this scam of a company. You are better off doing this on your own! They will waste your time AND money! read more

Absolute scam. Before the recent law change in Italy, my case had a slight nuance that made my application much more difficult and they either did not catch it but I suspect that they just wanted my money. Karen is who I spoke to primarily but no one there cares to return emails. I would go months between hearing from them and when I did, the messages were of little value. Do not fall prey to this company. Anyone looking to explore Italian citizenship would be much better off trying to apply on their own at the very least or finding another firm. ITAMCAP is an absolute scam - they do not care about you, they just want you to sign a contract and collect your money. read more

Absolutely Do Not Trust This Company - Unresponsive, Unhelpful, and a Complete Waste of Money I paid this company $7,000 for what was promised to be guaranteed Italian citizenship for myself and my family. After a rule change (which occurred just days before our consulate appointment), we were deemed ineligible -- something that was entirely outside our control and should have been handled with care and professionalism. Instead, the company simply stopped caring. I wrote a formal letter to the company owner requesting either a partial refund or an agreement to pursue judicial recognition, with payment upon successful citizenship -- and I received no response. Zero accountability. No willingness to even discuss options. Throughout the entire process, meetings with their associates were disorganized and unproductive -- they frequently came to meetings without knowing anything about my case, making the time completely useless. I've kept detailed records of all communications, and the pattern is consistent: The person I need is always "in a meeting" They never call back I have to chase them repeatedly My questions are constantly pushed off to another staff member who is also unavailable Once they receive your payment, they are completely hands-off. They offer no direct support, no relationship with the embassy, and no follow-through to ensure your application goes smoothly. I'm part of a Facebook group with over 80,000 members focused on dual Italian citizenship, and sadly, my experience is not unique. There have been multiple posts from others who felt scammed, unsupported, or abandoned by this same company. Their customer service is abysmal, and their value is nonexistent. If you're serious about pursuing Italian citizenship, DO NOT use this company. You can gather all the necessary documents yourself for a fraction of the cost. They didn't solve problems for me -- they created them, and left me and my family feeling dismissed, unimportant, and ignored once it became clear we could not obtain citizenship. Zero stars. Save your time, money, and peace of mind. Do NOT contact them. They are not worth your trust. read more

My case is a fairly straight-forward, court case that I was initially told would take a bit of time but the documentation was there to be able to pursue. I am coming up on the 1 year mark for having paid my deposit and have seen absolutely nothing from them. I have provided documents that were in my families possession and filled out forms that needed notarizing, but haven't receive confirmation of there receipt, other than from USPS. The communication has been completely 1-way as I have to initiate emails and phone calls. I had an illness that took me out for a couple months after they had sent forms that needed completion and there was no follow up from them. I regret using this company and wish I had spent a bit more time researching other routes. I had initiated a refund but let them convince me that there had been action taken so I dropped the process. And they are back to no contact/no response. I have even begun to memorize the standard email reply they send about being busy due to recent legal decree - HA - there have been several and if they can't keep up with all that is going on, they either need new lawyers in their firm or to get into another line of work. read more

They are professional, patient and answer all questions without delay. I could not have been happier

BEWARE Shady Scammers Unfortunately, I used this company to help me obtain my Italian Citizenship. I had done all of the legwork myself in obtaining the required documents, but still had to pay $1250. for the document review. They told me I had two discrepancies I needed to get fixed before my appointment with the Embassy. They told me they would help me correct these discrepancies and help me with the legal side. It turns out, after confirming with the Embassy, the discrepancies were not discrepancies after all. They promise the moon, you pay then dearly and they don't produce. They said they didn't know how to find a lawyer who could help, after all the emails saying they would take care of it. They don't return you phone calls once you've realized you've been scammed. They wanted to charge $95. per page for translation when everyone online is charging $15. This company is a total scam like 99% of the companies that say they can help you get your dual citizenship. It turns out, it's fairly easy to go through this process without paying thousands of dollars to a shady company. Thank god for a Facebook group whose member answer all your questions and give you free help! read more

After having great difficulty understanding the online requirements for renewing my 25+years expired Italian passport... Elisa made the process seamless! I would highly recommend this company and Elisa for any help needed acquiring or renewing passports in Italy. read more

complete scam they give you one price take your deposit and once they have it ask for more.

We have tried for over a year to get an appointment and ITAMCAP is no help, even rude.

Find someone else. Their customer service is horrible. I paid $4800 to get all my documents and it took almost 2 years. Several documents I sourced myself and sent them because they took too do long. In addition I never had a consistent consultant at least 5 different people during the course of this process. Once they had all their money it was difficult to get them to call me back. Then mid year 2024 around May I got an email asking for my review since I had my documents. I had nothing so I called them. Then they sent them in a binder no instructions on other paperwork I needed notarized. I then began trying to get an appointment with the Italian consulate after registering with them. Now after 9 months of trying I called them back to see if they had any help in getting an appointment only to be told NOW in February 2025 Italian law changed in October last year and I no longer qualify because my father was a minor when my GF naturalized BUT for €4900 not dollars they could guarantee me to get it under my grandmother's naturalization mind you she was my grandfather's wife because she naturalized in 1948 and my father was an adult. This organization has piss poor customer service and I don't believe they are very knowledgeable in what they are doing so now I'm out $4900 and they want me to fork out an additional $5000 since that's what the euros come to. DO NOT use them find someone more reputable that will know Italian law and provide for you the instrument for your citizenship. read more

I started the process with Itamcap around 2 years ago on 8/2022 . I have done most of the leg work myself getting necesary paperwork from NY and FL . I will update when and if I get any news . read more

In January of 2022 I learned of the Italian law regarding Jure Sanguinis. As soon as I heard about this law, I knew I simply must become Italian. You know, not just Italian-American, but actually Italian, and recognized as such. I explored the many options for consultants to conduct the genealogy and gather the required documents. My first interactions with ITAMCAP were with Giorgio Nusiner, the founder of the organization. After contracting with ITAMCAP, I emailed with Veronica and Sara, and later worked directly with Mattia Ciampichetti. The process of Jure Sanguinis is intense. You will see documents that report on the lives of people about whom you have heard and perhaps never met. You will learn that details you relied upon from siblings, parents, and aunties are not quite accurate. These people come to life in ways you never imagined. Your ancestors will become real for you, and the many small details of your heritage will come into focus. Veronica performed the document search for me in only four short months. I was so happy! As I began the wait for an appointment at the Italian Embassy in Miami, my documents were translated and certified very quickly. But, when everything was ready to go, the wait for an appointment had grown from eighteen months to four years. Everyone wants to be Italian! And so, with the assurance from Veronica and Sara that I would have their support, I decided to come to Italy earlier than planned and make my application here. This is when Mattia got involved. Mattia attended my application meeting at the comune with me, and walked me through the process of the necessary step of gaining residency. Mattia is simply amazing! His English is perfect. His understanding of Jure Sanguinis is thorough, and he has a unique empathy for what the applicant is experiencing and how to make the process as easy on them as possible. Mattia's help has been invaluable! I highly recommend ITAMCAP for your Jure Sanguinis application. The team is hardworking and capable, and in the end, you will be Italian! read more

At first, Giorgio seemed to be taking care of matters. However, we discovered that there was information regarding out Italian citizenship requirements that Giorgio did not convey to us until 3 months after the new requirements came into effect. This means that all of our payments were sent to him, and THEN he informed us of some new requirements. We are not able to fulfill these new requirements at the last minute. Basically, after much back and forth, we were forced to accept a 50% refund. The problem now is that, since that was agreed upon, I have not been able to reach him anymore. We have not received any refund. And he does not respond to any calls and e-mails. Be very careful if you decide to use these services! I am out $1,750 without any results to see from it. read more
