I'm not sure how to score this place.
The restaurant was nicely styled, everything new, clean etc., though it had no Turkish/ Istanbul character, nothing to suggest this was a Turkish restaurant - no character.
It was busy ( for a Thursday night ) so that speaks volumes.
I was in a group of about 15, on a work's night out, and we'd arranged prior that we'd just have a selection of food brought out to the table and everyone tuck in - so no one was choosing a la carte.
Starters were lovely, though not much of it, with great spicy sausage & falafel, but very very tight on the hummous, tzadziki and pitta.
However, the main course was just 4 big plates of meat. Well cooked, good quality but just meat. We all had a plate with some rice and a small salad, but the meat was overwhelming. It was too dry. None of it marinated. No accompanying sauces, dips or sides. A very boring meal.
I will go again, just to order off an a la carte menu, but I didn't enjoy this meal. read more
