Initially, Dr.Lee refused to take my case - it was a huge mess, everything was wrong, and he knew it would not going to be easy. I insisted and insisted with all my heart and soul, and Intuition knowing that he could make it work. - Arch alignment - which caused speech, enunciation problem - tongue gets trapped and hits the wrong area in the mouth, cannot deliver clear pronunciation, I either sound Mumbling or have to make much efforts when talking. The previous practitioner who caused this suggested Speech therapy - completely wrong solution and absolutely Nonsensical. -Face was looking deviated, the center was way off to the left. - Placement of the implants/some part of the gum is almost vandalized, luckily my gum is healthy -some were too close together and caused infection, aesthetic aspect of the dental bridge, and color -in both visual and functionality -Nothing was right. I was desperate after being in a dental saga for decades due to broken upper teeth caused by an accident. I felt pain on on my gum/tooth when I was flossing, and at first I went to just some nearby dental practice that was in-network. They ended up making me come back three times without any treatment, consultation after consultation, and finally quoted me thousands of dollars for root canal and filling. Frustrated by this experience, I actively asked around for recommendation for a trustworthy dental practice. I was introduced to the ismile dental this way. The receptionist prioritized my discomfort and set me up with an appointment with Dr.Cho right away. Dr Cho throughly examined the tooth which I was quoted for a root canal at the different place, and told me that the pain was possibly caused by excessive flossing that was too close to the gum. He was honest, upfront and careful. I was to schedule a checkup in six months, unless the discomfort returns. I am so thankful that I found this spot. I just got of the phone with the office at the NYC office at 35 West 31st St. to inquire about dental whitening. Their office shows up on the website for a company called Opalescence. The doctor answered and gave the phone to a woman who told me that they use Zoom at $500. She insisted that it be done at home and that the price is the same no matter if I use the home kit or come to the office for three treatments. I asked how long would the process last. She said it would be 2 to 3 hours, which is too long for an in-office visit. She then said 40 or 50 minutes, which is actually true for zoom. But she accused me of working for someone else. I asked to speak to the doctor and she refused to put him back on the phone. I said can I come to see you to discuss and she said she could have a consultation. I asked if it would be free and she she wouldn't answer. Really bizarre for a dental office. read more

I've recently had an implant done here, and I cannot stress enough that all the staff here are caring and knowledgeable individuals. While needing to take multiple trips here for the implant procedure, I was fully informed of what was to occur each time. As for my previous experiences with dentists, and there was a handful from my childhood till now- there was no communication; I was there for what needed to be done, and out. During my encounters with the dentists, they were gentle and informative. When checking if the tooth was compatible for me in every way (mouth closed, chewing), they checked numerous times to make sure it was comfortable and perfect for me. When me having a strong bite was addressed, I was surprised and I realized at that moment that it was an issue. While I wondered why no one else ever pointed that out, I now try to chew more softly. Despite all the positive reviews here, I have a mixed feeling about this dental office. I will update my review if my opinion changes on my future services with them. I had severe toothache that was lasting over a week. It was to the point where I had to take several painkillers throughout the day to keep my sanity. I called few dental offices to get some estimate since I thought it had something to do with my damaged crown. This office had lowest quote among few others so I decided to book an appointment. I guess it is pretty popular office so the earliest they could put me was a week later. So I waited little over a week then went to the office today. Despite my appointment, I had to wait 10 mins but it's pretty understandable. When I went in, they took three x-rays (two bite and one pano) without informing me the cost. After they took x-rays, the dentist examined my tooth saying there is no known cause and there is nothing he can do at the moment. I was simply frustrated since even when he was examining my tooth, I was going through the pain. He said it might have something to do with traumatic pain (e.g. tooth grinding) so just wait and see. After the examination, I was charged $100 for examine fee (which I think they should have informed me prior to the service). It was annoying since there was literally nothing they have done to stop my pain nor any treatment was received but I guess I have to blame U.S. healthcare system. So, would I recommend this dental office? Maybe, maybe not. I do not think they would perform over-procedure when it's not necessary. (They could have easily told me to get a new crown; instead the dentist told me that there's no need since according to x-rays it is fully functional). But I am still going through toothache (Not that it's their fault; I asked for second opinion from my dentist friends and they could not find anything either from my x-rays) so basically I paid for nothing. $100 for just two bite and one pano seems pretty stiff to me but I guess it is nyc cost. read more

I received a dental implant surgery for my upper front tooth about 2 years ago at iSmile Dental, and I have been very happy ever since. Before I went to iSmile, I went to multiple dentists for opinions and they all suggested doing an implant surgery, but I couldn't trust any of them for their skills especially since this is my front tooth. I can't be happier.I got my tooth fracture 4 years ago and went to see many dentists.They insisted that they did root canal perfectly so I won't get any pain even though they drill my tooth. I actually had extreamly strong pain when they drilled my tooth but noone didn't trust me.So it got me scare to go to see dentists. After 4 years since my tooth fractured,I got very strong pain on the tooth.I decided to go to ismile dental reffered from my friend. Dr Lee and his team(assistants and receptionists) are all very friendly and professional.The clinic is very clean too.Right after Dr Lee saw my Xrays,he explained the tooth still have some nerve left which other dentists had never realized and insisted on perfect root canal. At this moment,I completely trusted his skill. Even though I don't have dental insurance and concerned how much it costs,Dr Lee extracted my fracured teeth right away with very reasonable price(I was told in other dental clinics in midtown that extraction in my case costs over $600 and I needed to make an appointment to see a specialist which was 2 weeks ahead). The cost was 1/4 compared to other dental clinics so I asked how much it costs if I ask the implant after the extraction. I got surprised because it was also very reasonable priced too.(I would say more than half price of other midtown oral surgery clinics) I actually had implant procedure today and unluckily I didn't have enough bone to accept the implant.Dr Lee did bone graft which usually costs $800 besides the implant procedure.After the procedure,a friendly Korean receptionist told me they won't charge for bone graft and they will even give me free teeth cleaning too!! What a fantastic dental clinic!! I would recommend this clinic to all of my friends and those who hesitate to go to dental clinic without dental insurance. I highly recommend Dr Chun for any endodontal & general dental procedure you have. I consulted my 2 crown after filling traumatized pain from old dentistry in PA & got 1 other crown filled with Dr Chun. I must say I really appreciate his work and integrity that's a rare gem these days. Dr Chun was the only one who told me to wait 2 more weeks & not having a root canal right away, when all other dentists from other places were ready to plug my tooth nerve out. That 2 weeks saved me thousand of dollars & further damage of my tooth nerve. A big thank you very much to Dr Chun & his Korean assistant who took good care of me. For these reasons, I went for a revisit & had my other crown filled this morning with Dr Chun.
