This spot was incredible! Great selection of oysters and the servers were very knowledgeable. They even threw in a pair of oysters for us to try for free after we ordered a second round. I also really enjoyed the prawn rolls, so good and at a very good price point. The spot is small but spacious enough and not too crowded on a Friday night. We did call ahead for seats the day of though. Overall, very satisfied and I will be back!

I was looking for an oyster place to try while we were in town and stumbled upon Island Oysters. We dropped in on a Thursday (around 4:00pm). There's two picnic tables outside. The menu consists of 9 types of shucked oysters, caviar and seacuterie & sandwiches. If I lived in town, I'd be all over the boxes of 100 malpeques ($100.00) or 100 beausoleil ($115.00). - East dozen ($28.00) - four each of raspberry point, beausoleil and pristine bay. All the oysters were fresh, crisp and cleanly shucked. The platter came with lemon wedges, horseradish, seafood sauce and an apple-shallot mignonette. Seafood sauce was tasty but a bit too overpowering. Horseradish had a nice kick. Mignonette was too vinegary for our taste buds. Island Oysters was a nice find. Shuck them yourselves for an even better deal.

The service here is top notch. I've ordered from here a dozen times over the last year or so and have never been disappointed. Island oysters has the best selection of east and west coast oysters. The owner Jason is a swell guy who is as nice as nice can be. They do a ton of events and pop ups and if you ever see them anywhere- try them out. You won't be disappointed! We came into the newly renovated place on a Wednesday when they coincidentally had a $2 oyster deal. It was a type of oyster we had not tried before so we ordered those. In total We got 4 dozen oysters of varying types. They were all perfectly shucked, fresh, and delicious. The staff were all friendly and the service was efficient. The restaurant has a great ambiance, laid back and comfortable. Super cute date place. We ordered the clam chowder, potatoes and the mackerel dip. Everything was fantastic. Full of flavour and perfectly prepared. Will return.

Dropped into Island Oysters on a whim. They had 9 types of oysters to choose from. Tried an east dozen ($28.00); four raspberry point, four beausoleil and four pristine bay oysters. Fresh and properly shucked. If I lived in town, I'd be all over their 100 oyster boxes ($100.00 for malpeques, $115.00 for beausoleils). What a deal!

I went to Oyster Night at Shamone in the Junction. I was really excited to hang out and have some oysters and Oyster Island did not upset. The guy shucking was very friendly and knowledgeable. They made a suggested full-course menu which I bought and even though I didn't personally like one of the types of oysters the other two were amazing and the experience was great. Check these guys out wherever they pop up next!

I never imagined to find such places in Etobicoke but now I cannot wait to order it again. Good selections of authentic sushi to choose from including veggies sushi for vegetarians. I'm so with Liz B. on this one - I will never buy seafood anywhere else. The store is a pretty decent size, very, very clean and does NOT smell like fish. The servers are so polite and helpful and I noticed all the patrons were civilized; there was no pushing, shoving or yelling; everyone just politely waited their turn. They have another store in St. Lawrence Market which we've been to on numerous occasions but, being from Etobicoke and all the closures on the Gardiner, this is far more convenient. It's on Vansco, a side street that runs off North Queen but, for those of you who aren't too familiar with the area, you can catch it off the Queensway (very close to IKEA). I could see this being convenient for those of you in east Mississauga. You won't have trouble with parking as they have a private lot. I paid with debit but I'm sure they accept most major credit cards. They have frozen shrimp, scallops, lobster tails, etc. in all sizes. I also recall seeing cans of crabmeat and smoked salmon as well. As for the fresh fish, there was sea bass, grouper, catfish, swordfish, sole, tuna, etc. - lots to choose from. The tuna looked like it was sushi grade. They also had an array of fresh shell fish as well such as oysters, mussels, huge scallops and shrimp. For the pre-made food, some of the selections were stuffed sole, some awesome looking crab-stuffed calamari and I saw a stuffed salmon (very similar looking to what Costco sells). They also have specialty groceries on a separate side but I was on my lunch break so I didn't have too much time on my hands to browse. Anyway, I bought six calamari tubes with a whole bunch of tentacles for $10.25 and six large, fresh shrimp for $3.95 - great deal!
