In summary, because there was so much negative about my experience here, I've gone to the Deer Park and Patchogue offices for my hamstring issue and after going to another radiologist because their office couldn't do the mri after initially saying they can, I requested that the doctor call me to discuss the results, but I have yet to meet or speak with Dr. Katsigiorgis. I met with PA Michael, who was very nice, but could not go over the mri results with me. When I asked if the doctor was in, he said, no, not yet. I had a 9am appointment set to specifically speak with him because he wouldn't discuss results over the phone. After waiting 45 minutes, when I was the 1st appointment of the day, the same PA, Michael, basically said the same thing to me that he said before the mri. He said he didn't actually have the mri images and started rehashing about the X-ray taken at the Deer Park office during my first visit. This was a complete waste of time and after 1 month from my first visit to my last, I know nothing more than when I started except that I need to see a sports-oriented orthopedic doctor, because I'm concerned about competitive sports, and not just being able to walk. Why not pick up the phone and talk to me? It has to be that they can't charge for an appointment then. I ignored the numerous negative reviews I had read because everyone's experience is unique and I like giving businesses a fair chance. In this case I should have kept looking. Not PA Michael's fault. I would not send my worst enemy to this practice. Two years ago I went when doctor farrukh was there and he was excellent. I went back just this week with pain in my hip. They took x-rays on an ancient X-ray machine, but never had me.Take off my pants and look at my thigh. They prescribe the course of physical therapy.And when I left I was lightheaded and feeling double. I went home and passed out until the middle of the night. My boyfriend noticed I had a huge hematoma on my thigh. which the doctors there never saw because they never looked. I ended up in the ER the next day. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I gave them one star because I had to in order to post this, But they don't deserve any stars. They could have killed me! read more

Been having very bad arm and shoulder pain and came here for physical therapy. I'm in a lot of pain and they couldn't have cared less and were so unhelpful with showing me what I was supposed to be doing. They would quickly/vaguely explain the exercise, then go hangout in there little cubby. Then come at the end and tell me I was doing it wrong. After that they told me they need me to come for a neck MRI, said they would call me Wednesday with the appointment. Never heard from them, which is fine because I will be going someplace else. Pain has gotten worse since the disaster of a physical therapy appointment, probably since nobody helped me. Definitely pick somewhere else read more

Never Go there - patients beware. The care is totally substandard. Patchogue is a dirty crowded office on Monday. Typically at least 10 patients have the same time for their appointments! This place is a JOKE. They NEVER answer the phone. I am waiting on an MRI to be scheduled. They randomly charge whatever they want for an office visit. I was told $200. I said for what. Then they charged me $100 instead. What is up with that? I have called several times only to get a recording EVEN when the office is supposed to be OPEN. AND the voice mailbox is ALWAYS FULL. I called to make an appointment. I had knee surgery over a year ago and the surgeon doesn't take my new insurance. I told receptionist over the phone ... she said as long as my surgery was over a year ago the doctor would see me. I get there fill out paperwork for 15 min, wait another 45 minutes to be told dr would not see me because I had prior surgery. I am disappointed by the staff and would definitely not recommend If I could give zero stars I would have done that!! read more

Absolutely HAD IT with this place. HORRIBLE patient care, some of the staff don't want to be bothered, long waits for appointments. I went to them the end of January with a painful shoulder injury. I was sent to get an MRI but was not able to see the Dr. until the end of February. Right before my appointment, I called to confirm only to be told, "oh yeah, we tried to call you, we have to reschedule. (they did not try to call me). The next available appointment was the end of March. I called to get my records to go somewhere else because I was lucky enough to find someone to see me the next day, and was told they couldn't give me my records without me seeing the Dr. first. One month gone and one month to go in excruciating pain and they couldn't care less. This does not include the physical therapy staff. They are wonderful and very caring. read more

This office has a very long wait. I'm not sure what the front desk employees are pre-occupied with but every time I come here, the waiting room is "standing room only". Considering the fact that most patients have symptoms that are exacerbated with long periods of standing, I would suggest that management steps up their game in making sure the office runs like a well oiled machine. However, after the wait is finally over, the rest of my experience is pleasant. I have x-rays done quickly and am seen immediately by a PA. I have to admit, at first I was apprehensive because my appointment was with Dr. Katsigiorgis. To my surprise, the PA actually spends more time with me than the doctor ever did. I am happy to say that I would actually rather see someone who will listen to my problems than someone who is more interested in the number of patients he sees. Then, the PA tells me he's going to consult with Dr. Katsigiorgis about my X-rays. To be honest, I am more comfortable with waiting for some serious medical decision making because it makes me feel like my case is important to them. Next, the doctor actually comes in the room to talk to me! He literally takes time out of his day to see me. And he actually remembers my name. This is a big deal because I'm sure he sees like 100 patients a day. They tell me I need an MRI, which is kinda scary because I'm claustrophobic, but they assure me I can go to any open or stand up MRI place I want to. Technology today is amazing. They also suggest some therapy. I'm hesitant because I hear that the physical therapy at this place doesn't help too much. So they write me a script so I can go somewhere closer to home. I look forward to my next visit. I hope I see the PA again. I just hope I don't have to wait too long. Had my third surgery with Dr Farrakh yesterday and along with the Hospital visit review, it's been nothing but pleasant, from procedure to customer service and surgery prep. The people that complain about this clinic seem unhappy with more than one thing in their lives. Sickness understandably contributes to it but no need for projection of it on everything in life. Doctors are great here and also their assistants as well clinic staff. I do not come to this office during peak hours so I have not experienced a standing room only situation, but doubt that is really so since there is plenty of chairs for everyone all throughout the waiting hall. read more

after waiting about a hour, I must say it was worth the wait. The doctor did apologize the moment he came into the room about the long wait. He examine my knee and explained everything in detail. If anyone asked me if I know of a orthopedic I would not hesitate to refer to the practice. read more

Have a fractured collarbone and wanted to get a second opinion on surgery. Called Island Musculoskeletal Care but they refuse to even see me. "We don't do second opinions". Wasn't an issue of me not willing to pay full price for a doctors visit, but I made the mistake of telling them I had seen another doctor. Cannot understand how a doctor will refuse to see a patient, particularly one who was scared about getting surgery that may not be necessary. Unbelievable how uncaring and cold they were. What happened to Doctor's caring about people? Would not recommend this place to anyone. If I didn't mention I seen another doctor they'd have no problem taking me as a patient (with the ability to potentially more money off me). read more

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!! Unless you like waiting 2 hours EVERY time you come here!!!! The doctor is ALWAYS late to begin with & is NOT helpful!! I was in a car accident and asked the doctor how long he thinks i will be out of work & he told me to "just go back to work" because "i love my job, why wouldn't you want to go back to work?" After examining my 3 large lumps on my shoulder & seeing i am unable to move AND I HAD A SLING ON!! When I took my daughter to see the orthopedic everything was good. She got put in a cast for a fracture that she had. Buy the time she went to bed about 7:30pm the cast was very loose and the Cotten was coming out from the thumb and the cast on the thumb was cracking. She old had it put on abut 4:30 pm. I called the Patchogue office the next day to explain what was going on and to see if there was another dr that could see her because she was in so much pain because all the cast was doing was shifting. I was told that they had no drs in the Patchogue office I asked about the Shirley office and was told they did not have any drs there either. I could be seen on Friday in the Deerpark office. I had gotten a phone call back asking me what the problem was and then got asked if my daughter got it wet or stuck anything down inside the cast. First of all with in 3 hours of having the cast on it should not have been so loose that it would slip all the way down to her Knuckles. And then to make it seem like it's my daughter's fault as to why the cast is the way it was. I don't understand how you don't have a doctor at every office that can see you Incase something does happen to a cast or anything. I have never heard of such a thing. I took her for a second opinion evaluation and they were great. So needless to say we will not be going back to this practice at all. Not for they way I was treated. read more
