I wanted to send a plant to a viewing and called the day before to ensure it would arrive on time…read morebecause there is no option to choose a delivery time on their website. I called and was assured it would be there at least 1-2 hours prior to the viewing at 9am. I got a text message at 3:30pm that my plant was out for delivery. I immediately called and was informed the request was on the form but not the delivery slip and the drivers "must have not seen it". Terrible.

This place isn't huge, but there is a nice selection of plants from annuals to perennials. The vendors that sell at Chesterdales have a serious eye for what the people want. Or at least what…read moreI want! With the exception of some of the more garishly beachy vendors, the selection is overwhelmingly great. Every booth has at least 15 things that I love, 8 that I'd actually buy, 4 I can afford, and 1 I can't live without. That's how they get me. Vendors hold sales on their booths regularly (check for 50% off vendors!!!) and you can step out of there having spent under $50 for something really special. On the other hand, there are pieces in there that are outrageously overpriced. But that's par for the course for a shop like this. I find it part of the fun, setting your eyes on a piece that's.. oops...$4,000. Chesterdales is an adult I Spy Book. Perfect for people who love framed paintings, tchotchkes of any type, particularly dishware, coastal/ rattan furniture, mirrors... the list goes on. Staff is quite helpful but not overbearing. The store is well air conditioned but not overly (if you know SWFL, you know what I'm talking about. You don't need a sweater to shop in here.) If you have the chance and are willing to spend an hour sitting through the stock, do it!

They also will take care of your snowbird orchids for a reasonable fee per month. We've sought out orchids at the Naples Botanical Garden during its annual orchid show, but Ms. Judy's are the longest lasting ones. One of the orchids we purchased from her bloomed for nine months straight--that's an amazing record! Ms. Judy is also authentic. If it's not orchid season, she won't be selling orchids with genetically engineered blooms. At Jades, you may pay a little more than for a Publix orchid, but you are supporting a long-term Floridian, someone whose knowledge base is unbeatable. And given the rate of builder development, we may have limited time to visit her and purchase one of her long lasting orchids. Don't miss out!

The trees were the twenty five gallon size and delivered right to my home. All the trees are large and healthy. My poinciana tree has a place of honor in the front yard.
