Sin & Gin was a fun and cute performance of a 1920s theme murder mystery. It took place in the Saint Ann's Church in Saville NY, as a combined effort of the Church, along with People's Arc of Suffolk . The write up is a service for Edith Corse Evans' a fellow member who had died 10 years before, who heroically gave up her seat for her friend on the Titanic (Edith was a real person who gave up her seat for Caroline Brown) when one seat on the life boat was left, knowing she had children to go home to. As in most stories this one had name changes. (You know; when you see that list at the end noting any resemblance to real people is strictly coincidence) The Cast who I must applaud all stayed in character, no matter what questions that I asked them. They and many of the parishioners who came to pay their respects, were also dressed in 1920s attire. Of course after the service, a FRONT, they sneakily took a trip to the back River Room where all kinds of things happened including a rousing evening of booze, jazz and ---MURDER! (See pix + Videos) Dinner was included in the ticket price of $75.00. As was one complimentary glass of wine or beer, courtesy of Loughlin Vineyards with an open cash bar for more. For the fund raiser they also had tickets for purchase a 50/50 a door prize basket and other raffle baskets. CM Performing Center is one of the Long Island theaters for live performances. There was a…read moreseafood festival, taking place outdoors, in the beautiful grounds of this park-like settings.. The weather was perfect. Warm and sunny. The breeze coming from the Marina was very pleasant. Picnic chairs and blankets were scattered around. Food, drinks, live music were the perfect combo. Me and my parents arrived at 3:30 pm. It was packed with people of all ages, and of course, a lot of children were present. Several food trucks were scattered around the park area of the museum. The best empanadas were from Island Empanadas food truck. The shrimp mango empanada were delicious! Moist inside, and the crispy crust was amazing. Let's not forget grilled corn and fresh oysters we're also on my radar. I also enjoyed a glass of summer ale while I was people-watching. It was the best way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon.

Because of covid you're not allowed to browse the gift shop if there's something you want to buy the museum staff have to show you and if you want to buy it than you can have it and touch it all you want. Got my son a hat. We saw the main museum and the oyster house because certain buildings had doors that couldn't be open due to wood swelling or expansion or something like that. Despite a rainy day the outside views of the water were still pretty nice to look at.

You can tell a lot of thought and care went into creating this museum. The museum focuses on the creation and evolution of the Navy SEALs and was created in memory of Lt. Michael P. Murphy and the ultimate sacrifice he made in service to our country. There are also several films that tell his story, which added a very personal and emotional element to the experience. The museum starts with an informative look at the history and evolution of the SEALs before moving into more solemn exhibits centered around Lt. Murphy's story and a memorial area honoring members who lost their lives in service. From there, the exhibits showcase a variety of equipment, including firearms, parachutes, watercraft, and other specialized gear. There is also an Oculus experience that simulates a parachute jump, along with a 4D submarine ride that reminded us of a smaller-scale Soarin' style experience at Disney. Outside, you'll find several specialized Navy vehicles, a helicopter, and a submarine on display. The entire museum is thoughtfully and efficiently designed. We left feeling like we had learned something, experienced moments of pride and sadness, and even shared a few laughs in the entertainment section. This was much more than just a museum visit. It was an experience that took us through history, sacrifice, courage, and service. 100% recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
