Bought a watercraft battery 10 months ago. They said the off brand is good but not the original like I wanted.Always charged with a battery tender and on my work bench over winter.Motor was slower turning over at the lake so I load tested it with the same load tester they use and it read weak.Took battery back and showed weak on their load tester.Also acid was leaking and corrosion on the positive terminal.The best thy do was a deal on a new battery. They even ensured all my electronic chip and radio data were retained by connecting to a portable battery while exchanging the car battery, and then getting me to double-check everything afterwards. This small shop goes out of their way to give big service! One of Mum's old scooters was on the blink and it screamed for a new battery. Island Batteries to the rescue! We pull up in the truck (scooter in the back), the boy with the battery bounds into the back of the truck, attacks the scooter with both wrenches and a voltage meter. My rechargeable Black and Decker Lawn Mower's batteries were toast. I called Black and Decker head office - they were nice, but said the mower hadn't been in production for years, and so they couldn't get me batteries. Pfffft! I called the Black and Decker local office - they were nice, but same response. Pfffffffft!!! I got the lid open on the mower (hint to mower owners - it's a Tork 20 screwdriver, not an Allen key - duh!) and saw it was a simple matter of replacing three 12 volt 10 amp batteries. Went to Canadian Tire - they were helpful, but didn't have the battery. Pfffffffffffft!!!!! Went to Lordco - they had motorcycle batteries - $120 a pop - the same price as buying a new mower. PFFFTTTTT! Nobody had ever heard of Island Batteries. Despite being 1 block (ONE FREAKING BLOCK!!!!) FROM LORDCO. (WTF WTF WTF WTF ETC ETC ETC) I looked up IB. They said Yup, they had the lawn mower batteries. By the time I got there - literally 30 seconds after leaving Lordco - they had the 3 batteries boxed for me. BTW - they're a 100% local company. And they had the Canada / Czech hockey game on. And they recycled my old batteries. And they're badass - the same sort of attitude you'd get in a cool motorcycle repair shop - loved it. Wow: bought batteries from Peter at Island batteries a few years back and had great service with fair pricing. We needed electric scooter batteries again, (typical ) but all the connectors were rusted and seized. Peter removed and tested all the connecting wires, installed the new batteries, tested our battery charger with the new install and then called us to pickup! Now this is what I call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! He didn't charge us for any of his time and even gave us a discount on the batteries. He was very knowledgeable, calm, and polite.
