Great class! Perfect pace for all levels. The room was warm enough for a good stretch but not uncomfortable

Updated. Kept most of my original review but added what has happened over the last few days. I'm…read morewriting this to help others make an informed decision before choosing Kinder in the Keys. My experience was not only disappointing -- it was misleading, unsafe, and very different from what I was promised. Before I arrived, I was told this was a holistic, nutrition-based program with non-processed foods, mindfulness, and wellness education. Their website also said "no processed foods, no sugar, no soda." This was simply not true. Most meals were frozen or heavily processed: pizza, cold cuts, bacon, chicken sausage, sugary snacks, ice cream, etc. There was zero nutrition education or wellness instruction. The daily structure was chaotic and disorganized. Schedules changed constantly with long stretches of "hurry up and wait." Some staff acted unprofessional or dismissive, which made the entire environment feel more controlling than therapeutic. Medication safety was a serious concern. Multiple clients received the wrong medication. One woman became extremely sick, had to go to the ER, and police were called so she could safely get her belongings. That incident exposed major safety issues. Staffing was another red flag. It seemed there were very few licensed clinicians on site. Many groups were run by interns or minimally trained staff. Privacy was inconsistent -- sensitive topics were often discussed in shared spaces. The "wellness" programming was also misrepresented. Other than yoga twice a week, there was no exercise program at all. Daily meditation? We laid on the living room floor while staff played random YouTube videos they picked on the spot. There was nothing structured, intentional, or therapeutic about it. Yoga itself often caused stress. We were told to be ready by 6:40 AM, yet we usually left late and arrived after class started. If anyone rested on their mat, staff would poke or reprimand them. This was not trauma-informed care. People ask why I stayed 7+ weeks. Here's the truth: Leaving a residential program is complicated when you're already emotionally vulnerable. You're isolated from your normal life and repeatedly told to "trust the process," and that wanting to leave means you're "resistant" or "not ready." And the one time I did try to leave, I was blocked from doing so. I asked staff for my phone to call the director -- I was told no because "it wasn't phone time." I asked for my phone to call an Uber to go to the airport -- again, I was told no. All luggage is kept in a locked shed, and clients do not have free access. Even if an Uber came, I couldn't get my belongings. I felt stuck. To be fair, I did meet some wonderful women there. Those friendships were the best part of the experience. A few licensed therapists were excellent, and the dolphin outing was memorable. But these positives don't erase the systemic issues in the program. What happened after I left was even more telling. When I sent a detailed complaint letter, Kinder in the Keys blocked me instead of responding. They also refused to provide the legally required instructions on how to obtain my medical records. I asked multiple times and got no response. I eventually had to ask for my records publicly on Google's review forum because they would not provide the information privately. This says a lot about their approach to transparency and accountability. Bottom line: What Kinder markets and what they actually deliver are two completely different things. I learned from the few licensed therapists and met incredible women, but I left feeling misled, unsafe, and deeply concerned for anyone enrolling based on their advertising. Mental-health treatment should be ethical, transparent, and safe. My experience at Kinder in the Keys was none of those things. --Kimberly

I can sincerely say Bill presented one of the best guided meditations I've ever done. He truly has a gift. I'm so pleased to have found a meditation "home" in S Fla. Easy parking and great ambiance. I was repeatedly met with animosity and snide emails from both Bill and Brian his husband on several occasions before that just for requesting a certificate after finishing a course and the booklet for the class. I was told "I am too busy" what a great school that says that to a student. This "school" is very interested in taking your money but not so interested in any personal growth on your part. The teachings are incomplete and incompatible with deeper teachings on the subject. Much of the "coursework" is you tube videos and articles written and created by others which you can find on your own by doing a search. There is no real teaching. He does not show you anything. There is no mastery that you will obtain by reading his booklets. I feel cheated and ripped off as this school felt it was ok to keep my money and not honor their word of letting me have access to the other courses, I paid for despite advertising that you get lifetime access to the courses you pay for. This school is anything but meditative or mindful. Please do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere that cares about you as a student not just their pocketbook and egotistic approach at pretending to be healers or teachers.

It flows into a field of green grass, which tends to be active more for their bigger events. Be prepared to be shoeless inside or have earthy zones outside (comfortable, easy off shoes suggested). On many occasions there's live music going in the back. You can tell a lot of positive love, care, and energy went into creating a spiritual environment intended for people to come together and heal / grow as individuals as well as a collective. I've visited a few times with friends for a range of mindful events, including: music nights, spiritual comedy, mastering mindfulness / energy workshops, and even some foodie events! Still, I've missed others like yoga and sound healing. One of their more interactive sessions is the ecstatic playground, where a lot of people from all different backgrounds, creeds, and ages are encouraged to move about and rediscover their childhood like energies and embrace it in adulthood. In sum, I find the center to have a lot of going on and something for everyone. Go with an open mind. Not everything may be for you, nor is it meant to be! It's a great place to try a variety of mindful type experiences. I don't find the vibe to be pushy, so be comfortable in your skin/ boundaries and respectful to others and their experience; I'm sure you'll receive the same treatment and respect in return. On events that have food, there is more vegan and juice options. Street parking is normally available, but if you live close enough, ride share may make sense. The surrounding area may seem rougher than the energy found inside.
