The carne asada taco was okay, too many onions for me, but still quite tasty. Some would probably be intimidated to eat here because it is a run-down food truck located next to a gas station near the Home Depot of Coursey & Cedarcrest. The service was friendly and fast. Eating there is not really recommended because there are just folding chairs, no tables. I would say the food was pretty authentic and I plan on going back, especially for those yummy pupusas. This might not be your first choice, but at least make it a choice; step out of your box and try something new!

I'm giving it 5 starts for the quality of the food only. I've traveled all over Mexico and these…read moreare the best carne asada and grilled chicken tacos I have ever had. Everyone has heard about my deep rooted love and obsession for tacos and food stands, so I wanted everyone else in Baton Rouge to find out about this gem of a shady but delicious food truck! The meat is charred crispy to perfection, without being dry. The doubled-up HANDMADE a corn tortillas are definitely the best tortillas I have ever tasted. (Hmm, wonder if I can get a whole pack to go?!) The pupusas are delicious too, and come topped with a pickled cabbage. My friend did order the pork tacos, thinking it was carnitas, but it was actually chicharrones (pork rind) and we didn't like that one so much. I TOLD her to let me order for her in Spanish, but she insisted on the pork before I had the chance to people rly ask WHAT type of pork...... And yes, it's best to order in Spanish. Just say "taco de carne asada" (beef steak) and "taco de pollo" (chicken) and how may and you should be set. I usually order 3. They are small but very filling. I could literally eat these everyday. There are 2-3 chairs to sit out at while waiting for your order, and the wait time is 4-8mins or so depending on how much you order but it's so worth it. They even give salsa to go. Ladies, please wear your wedding rings (or a fake one while you order) because there will most likely have a plethora of men ordering authentic Mexican food, waiting to propose to any unsuspecting lady who just wants to get her foodporn on and immediately dash to the comfort of their own home to indulge in these tasty treats. It is parked at the gas station near the Home Depot on Cedarcrest & Coursey. Coming from bluebonnet (with the CCs coffee house on your left) you will cross over working onto Coursey, and it's the second gas station on the right. If you're in the Home Depot parking lot, the gas station is directly in front of the store.

Well they gave my 16 year old sister a flimsy tray to hold two snow cones and a frito pie, inevitably, she's a klutz so she dropped my snowcone. She went to the window and spoke to the woman and told her what happened and the owner said, "give me a minute." Yes, their line stretched to the street and they were busy but we assumed she'd give us a replacement as she SAW the snowcone on the ground... NO. The owner and window worker told us we had to buy another. You charge $2.25 for a medium that literally take less than .50 to make and for the sake of customer service you couldn't make another?!!? I was very kind and the worker lashed out saying, "you know how many people dropped their snowcones from the tray? I would be broke if I made everyone a new one!!" Well maybe you need a new style of TRAY?! I thought, but for the sake of not causing a commotion We left. I was more hurt at the fact that I know she looked at the color of my skin and felt that she didn't need to exemplify great customer service and then began to act as if us asking for another was a crime. If I would've been of a different complexion, she definitely wouldn't have treated me with disrespect and would've kindly advised that's she'd make another. But that's fine. We will never Be back. They're are money hungry and racist. Which yes, that is a big statement to make, but I really felt discriminated upon the way she lashed out at me. It was the principle!!!

There was also a seafood cook off and as much as I love watching cooking programs on television, watching them live is so much more enjoyable, so I was in for this event in the blink of an eye. So we arrived right before the doors were about to open and park (complimentary all around the convention center). What I noticed immediately was how many people were there standing in line. No less than 1000 guests on a big Tuesday night. Once the doors opened the line did move pretty fast. When we entered there was a table set up where they were giving away bags, hats, measuring spoons for your rice pot cher, fans and of course Tabasco products. I've noticed when someone is giving away free stuff there's a sort of mob mentality, fend for yourself, push a grandma out of the way to get some of the swag. It's crazy and me no likey. Once we escaped without getting trampled by the angry mob we got to business sampling food. Everything we tried was delish but here are some of my favorites- Charley G's Smoked Duck and Andouille Gumbo (OMG! The. Best!) Cafe Habana City Roast Pork, shredded beef, sweet plantains Dean-O's Assorted specialty "mini" Pizzas (Rajun Cajun) Blu Basil Wine & Grill Avocado Pork Potstickers Lagneaux's Shrimp Pasta Reve Coffee Roasters Lemon Zucchini Bread La Pizzeria Spinach and Artichoke Dip Sophi P Cakes Cupcakes in a cup Graton Eatery Jumbo Soft Shell Crab Salad (I died) I will definitely make this a yearly tradition!
