Good afternoon Lee…read more... I just now was able to get to my mailbox and to my displeasure I saw the deposit check from you guys. I guess I am just shocked to see the amount. I'm not saying there shouldn't have been any money deducted, but I don't feel like we left the home in that horrible of shape. We were there for 3+ years. You hardly heard from us. We were good renters. We even paid rent each month in full amount even though we weren't working due to Covid. We had no issues with anything about the house or BCH. We cleaned the carpets yearly. We went above and beyond to keep the house our home. The reason we decided to leave is to downsize and to give my daughter a backyard. I feel like since we gave our 30 day notice, we weren't important to you at all. Our refrigerator went out on a Saturday, sent a maintenance issue that night, and did not get a response til Monday afternoon. Then finally someone came out on Wednesday stating we need a new fridge ( like no crap). I feel like we weren't a priority and getting us a fridge was not a priority to you at all. I feel like you just shrugged it off because we were leaving. We also lost $250 of food because of your lack of urgency. I don't feel like as renters or people we deserved to be treated that way. To be honest this has been eating at me for awhile now. Yes..... seeing the amount of refund was a shock to me and the amount provoked me to write this email, but as I am writing this, I am more pissed off about how we were treated at the end of the month than anything else. Better Choice Homes will never be seen to me as a good company in my eyes. This company we rent from now is far more superior than you all are. Sincerely, Mark Gottschalk and Mindee Lee *** We will make sure anyone we know would never use this company to rent from.

They are very quick and they have an amazing staff. Lee is the manager for my property and she really does an amazing job. They use all sorts of automated online portals for managing service requests and payments etc. They also have resources to fix anything needed in the house at reasonable cost. I highly recommend them based on my personal experience.

This office and its brokers do NOT care about their clients, and they do not go out of the way or…read moreabove and beyond. Dan Porter himself, has not responded to our complaint and multiple emails about one of the agents in his office, Kristie Rodricks. We hired Kristie end of Sept. '25. When we moved, we accidentally left a small container (dipping sauce size) in the freezer. A realator from another office was showing our home, and was alerted by a potential buyer, that there was mold growing inside the freezer. (we had turned the fridge off so as to not have it running empty. she knew this). That realator told Kristie about the mold and she did nothing to take care of it. We had moved out of state and were totally unaware of this issue. She never disclosed it to us even though we were always in contact while our house was for sale. Unfortunately we had to move back to the home two months later, due to a family emergency; we had Kristie take it off the market. When my husband walked in the house, he noticed an odor right away. It wasn't until he began loading the fridge up when he discovered the mold in the freezer, along with bugs in it. We notified Kristie right away. She blew off my text about it, and when my husband talked to her on the phone, it was only THEN that she told him about the entire situation; and AFTER she received her commission. She new for weeks that mold was growing in there and did nothing about it. She prohibited the sale of our home due to people being able to smell that odor, and by them looking in the freezer; AND causing a potential health hazard by letting it grow!! Allowing that mold to grow causes it to become toxic! It would've continued if we left it on the market because she obviously had no intention of cleaning it (probably because it was below her paygrade). Underhanded.Unethical.Moral? NO. All she had to do was be upfront. We had neighbors here that had keys to the house and would've gone in and cleaned it for us. We complained to one of the brokers, Brook Miller, who was a complete jerk about the whole thing. He was insulting and dismissive to us, arrogant and could care less about the whole thing. He offered NO solution, saying (quote) "I have no solution" (end quote). Really? He couldn't think of having Kristie possibly make a call or write a letter of apology? We've asked for the offices complaint form, but of course, no one will give us one. So we've resorted to hopefully getting help from the real estate association. There's got to be someone who will care. On the emails we've received from Miller, hes cc'd Dan Porter and Olivia Medina. Weve also reached out to them. Neither have had the decency to respond, nor the decency to guide us to a solution. Kind of like the "blue wall" here. Miller even went so far as to say that Kristie really had no responsibility to clean it up in the first place. So I guess then, God forbid, if someone's house gets infested w rats and their agents walk in and see them, they'll just let them breed and cohabitate in there.
