I really dislike writing negative reviews - look at my track history - but when something does go wrong I feel it needs to be called and rectified. I can't cook, for nothing. Due to social distancing, I was sending friends and family Thanksgiving dinner via UberEats. I have an uncle who lives in the delivery area of this restaurant so I selected them. I used the (future delivery) option when I started putting together the orders over the weekend. Today I called this restaurant to confirm the delivery and give them my uncle's phone so they could notify him when they were close. The waitress who picked up the phone seemed dismissive, and not five minutes from hanging up I get a message from UberEats that the order had been cancelled. Visiting family and we arrived to Miami past dinner time. We let our family member know that we were really hungry and would like to eat somewhere that had Cuban / Latin food. After driving to one place and finding out that it was too late and there was limited food options, we ended up at this restaurant. My family member stated that they would eat there at times. We had Cuban Sandwiches and someone else had another dish. We were the only ones there. It was late on a Tuesday. Food was plentiful and had great flavor. The new management or owners have done an amazing job. The portions are huge and the quality is superb. We had the lentil soup and it was loaded with meat. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! I ordered the churrasco with white rice and beans and vaca frita through Postmates. When the food arrived I took one bite from the steak and realized it was RAW!! The steak wasn't even hot! I ordered the steak medium rare, but it seems as if the chefs didn't know how to properly cook a steak, or they just decided to give me the steak from the freezer. I don't like writing bad reviews but unfortunately I have to for this place. I haven't had a terrible dinner in a while but this was bad. I ordered the breaded chicken with moros and plantains and every part of my meal was bad. My rice tasted old and hard. The plantains were cold not fresh at all. The breaded chicken was greasy and falling apart before I even touched it. The breading was falling off the chicken when it came. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Being Cuban, I always tend to be more critical of my food when dining in a Cuban restaurant. There are certain must haves and must do's when it comes to what can be considered as "good Cuban food". This place is good for a fast meal if you're on the go and just want something other than fast food. They have a fine in option and you can call it in for pick up as well. It's conveniently placed right off of the turnpike, so if you live down south you can just stop and pick it up and continue on your journey. The food is good, not great. I would consider it to be Cuban fast food. The beans aren't made from scratch, I can tell they are from a can and then just seasoned. And the food has flavor, but definitely not the most flavorful the way Cuban food should be. The service is mediocre, nothing above average or great. The establishment was clean and they had music on and several large TVs which were showing the current basketball game that evening, the food did come out in a timely manner and everything came out correct. However, this place for sandwiches is great! If you like classic Cuban sandwiches (Cuban sandwich, Miami sandwich, media noche, etc.) this is a must if you're in the area and want something along those lines. Definitely ether than a Sergio's or La carreta by far. They have their own sandwich maker which has his own stand in the center of the bar/wait staff prep area. The potatoes tasted like they cooked them in one massive batch, let them sit till someone orders and then they stick it in the microwave. If you want to eat real eggs then get them fried. Ohhhh and let's not forget the OJ!! $5.00 for a small glass of orange juice!!!! I got 2 pancakes w/ bacon and eggs. The pancakes were the microwave ones. How can I tell? Easy they feel flat and rubbery. And the eggs OMG!!!!! Nasty Nasty Nasty!!!!! They use the boxed eggs so they're flat and rubbery and just all around nasty!!!! I took one bite and that's it. The bacon well it's bacon. Usually I love bacon but these were burnt to a crisp. Cafe con leche was good. I had to pour some into my husband cup of ice because she filled it so much I couldn't even put sugar. Now for the kicker!!!!! CHECK YOUR BILL!!!!! So we didn't notice but they automatically add the tip to the bill which for my total it was $4.53 which I'm ok with but I almost tipped her an extra $6 cash. Funny thing is it wasn't on the first bill she gave us, it was on the second bill where we paid with our CC where we had to sign. I'm always a fan of hole in the wall Cubano food. Growing up in PR we always loved our samwichez en las panaderias. The decor was nice with fishtank and tiled bar. The buzzer at the table to call the waitstaff is a good idea but it was visibly dirty with sticky food bits. The empanadas had a good flake and came out hot. The picadillo one was great with the green olives. The ham and cheese one was too salty. My Cuban burger was overcooked, thin and dry. As I looked around at the humongous sandwiches at other tables I knew I had misordered. My yuca fries were forgotten and didn't come until after I had finished the meal. Worth the wait. They were perfectly crisp and mashy on the inside with great garlic sauce. Colada hit the spot. Bathroom was clean. Wouldn't set out to come back but if you've got the itch for cubano it's the best rated within a mile radius. Two stars for me, but the others in my party ate better than I did. read more

I hate to write this review, I've never written a bad one. I just had a delivery from here from Uber Eats and wish I had read the reviews first. I ordered mofongo with steak. The steak tasted like seafood or fish was cooked on the grill right before so the steak tasted like fish. SO disgusting. The Cuban sandwich was just ok and the chicken soup tasted nothing like chicken soup. How do you mess that up? I stumbled upon this gem accidentally while searching for something completely unrelated. I ordered a basic breakfast platter of potatoes, eggs, and meat with toast. A cuban sammich was also ordered. Lets just say the plates where clean when we pressed the cool button on the table to get the check. The following day before our flight, we went and ordered there again. And they didn't disappoint at all! I like some things that seem to make this place different, mainly the buttons to either get a waitress attention, or simply get the check right away. Even if you don't press the button they still come and ask if you're ok and if anything is needed. I rated this place 4/5 stars. It looks great, feels cozy. It's very clean, and the waitresses are very attentive and polite. But it lacks something that makes his a perfect 5. Not sure if its in the menu, its very tasty advertisements that can easily take your eyes off of what you want to order, or that convenient button system they have that secretly steals the magic of getting to know your servers on a personal level like it once used to be. Tips are included with every party 2 or more. So unless you are eating alone, better account for that in your bill. Then again, always tip your servers. read more

We stopped in here because it is very close to the campground we are staying at in the Miami area. One thing to note is that if you are traveling in a motorhome or towing a trailer you will have difficulty parking in the lot. The restaurant is in a strip mall and there is no pull through parking. We were lucky that some side-by-side spots were open and we parked sideways. But the place is very pleasant. The food offered isn't limited to Latin dishes. The menu has a few Italian items and some American items as well. And the portions are HUGE! My wife ordered a small bowl of white bean soup as a starter and it was large enough to be an entree in its own right. She also had the Cuban Club sandwich which was generous and tasty. I had the Sunday lunch special of arroz con pollo which was way too big even for my large appetite. This did have a distinct Latin flavor without being overly spicy. We will get to enjoy this meal again as there was enough left over for a lite dinner. Service was quick and friendly. A nice touch that I haven't seen elsewhere is that there is a button to push to call your server and a separate button to ask for your bill. Very convenient!
