A cozy little den on one side with shelves full of books. They provide comfortable leather chairs and beautiful wood dining tables for your comfort. There's even an old style English phone booth...with a working phone! Friday night is special with a fish fry including chips (ya know, fries) and only an authentic British fish fry would include mushy peas. I like the malt liquor for my fries and sneak a little lemon and tartar sauce on my cod. Head up to the full bar for something cold and wet to wash it all down. They have plenty of room with several tables to accommodate. But you need to hurry, rumor has it they've sold the building to Kenny's liquor shoppe, next door.

The buildling can be easily missed in the evening for the area is not lighted well. Parking and entrance door is in back. So, you order from the bar your food and drinks. They hand you a food ticket. Then, you walk over to the sweet older ladies (in aprons that are running the food from the kitchen window) and hand them your food ticket. They may or may not ask your name so they may call your name or what is in your order when it is ready to pick up. It took about 10 min for our orders to be called. They do not use cod (heaven forbid!), rather large pieces of hake and it is hand-battered. The fish was very tender, delicious, and flavorful. Batter was light and crisp. The dish comes with slaw and bread. We got the mushy peas for the whole cultural experience. We also got the steak pie. It was like a beef potpie without the veggies, packed with steak and gravy in a very tender crust. All were very filling and delish. Besides the fish and chips, a major highlight was how friendly the members were, welcoming us so warmly. The sweet older ladies that served us are the the cutest, charming ladies with their accents. Whenever I ESPECIALLY hear a British accent, I feel like I am in a movie or TV show. It is just slightly surreal. I want them to keep talking to hear how British they are. I am just having my own personal show. Anyway... We will definitely come back.

Brides - do yourself a favor and book the Hellenic Cultural Center as your reception venue!!…read more The space is warm, inviting, and beautiful. The food is incredible, and weeks later, our guests are STILL talking about it. There was also a bridal suite and groom room on site, which was the perfect place for us all to convene for hair and makeup during the morning of the wedding. Best of all, the staff is incredibly kind and accommodating! There's so many details that other venues told us they would charge for, that the Hellenic Cultural Center included for us, which made the process so seamless! From providing decor (like hurricane vases and plate chargers) to working with outside decorators to create the space of our dreams to having a professional serving/bar staff, the Hellenic Cultural Center had everything we needed. We can't thank them enough for making the wedding of our dreams come true! Marlee helped immensely throughout the entire process by answering our thousands of questions over email, to helping on the actual big day. She was instrumental in bringing our vision to life. We are just so, so grateful to her and the whole team!!

We had 130 guests and 200 items up for auction. The room was great, the facility is beautiful, the food was fabulous (REALLY!!), and the staff could not have been more accommodating of all of our special set-up needs. They also kept the Mimosas flowing! We'll be there again next year on October 18, 2025, and are looking forward to another great event with the help of the Hellenic Cultural Center. We highly recommend them!

It is safe and flat to approach building even for those with canes or in wheelchairs. Baby Carriages also will have no problem. The rooms are reasonably priced and in great condition. They certainly provide a great service to the community. The outer coverings will need to be updated in at least the next two seasons. They are worse for wear but still not unattractive. The best thing, I feel, about this building is it shape and design. Inside it takes on much the aspect of a small sports arena, and that's fine because there is an ice rink here. Outside the building has a modern look and sweeping lines. Unexpected in this small, quiet, residential neighborhood. The seating outside the building features comfortable benches. This is good and convenient but the smoking pylons are pushed up against them so anyone seated would need to deal with the smell or the possibility of a smoker making an appearance. There are two small areas that appear to be gardens but are more like gathering places and entryways. They are picturesque. At least one of the rooms has a wall completely set out in mirrors which is very attractive. There is a lot of light in that room and combined with the straight curtains it provides a classical 1960's look that is clean and bright while still being modern.

Its fee to roam inside and outside the grounds. I would definitely leave a tip or support the artists amazing work. Its not a large place but it has enough for all to enjoy. Customer service was great, the young lady helped with all my questions. I believe the owner was on the porch playing cards with his friends, he spoke and kindly told me to wander freely. They are located in a neighborhood that I would definitely be cautious if traveling alone. Inside there are beautiful arts pieces and beads thru out the bldg. There is so much to choose from, Im sure you will find something. I bought a few pieces to make earrings to give away for the holidays. On the outside you will see mosaics, sculptures, paintings, old items turned into unique art pieces. Tip: Stop by if you have some time, you wont regret. All the pieces are reasonable priced. Everything was prepared and ready to go. The gardens were beautiful and a few chairs were places under the pergola for the grandparents. After the ceremony, the guests went inside were drinks were ready for the taking while we took some photos around the grounds. I still can't believe that everything went just as I imagined. The lighting and food stations were perfect, the tables looked beautiful, and the chairs had ribbons wrapped around them in our teal and brown colors. This all leads down to Laura Ingram and her team at the Finnish Cultural Center (along with the gardeners too). Laura was so nice and open minded to all of our off-beat ideas and accommodated everything we asked for. Our photo-booth was near the front door, the pianist was stationed by the dance floor, and the myriad of heavy appetizers at each food station was beyond my expectations. Everyone had such a great time. I just had to stop everything, and soak it all in! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Laura!

These people tried to cancel our wedding the day before. They were nothing but rude to us, lied to us over and over again and were totally unprepared for my reception. We paid for top shelf and got stuff I had never even heard of. They served warm beer and didn't bus their own tables.
