This store features a full service kitchen counter offering pizzas (12"/16"), made to order hot & cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast sandwiches/wraps & breakfast pizza. They also offer several kinds of Green Mountain Coffee (self serve carafes), grab & go subs & salads & pudding cups, self serve pizza slices in the heated glass case, snacks, candy, fruit, cold drinks, beer cave, health items, automotive supplies, tobacco products, and Maine Lottery tickets. There is seating along the front window. I stopped by Howie's Variety recently for pizza. I glanced at the heated pizza slices, which were limited to cheese, pepperoni, and buffalo chicken. I decided to order a fresh pizza and got a 12" Sausage Pizza ($9.48 plus tax), which was made to order, hand stretched dough, topped, and baked and ready in 6 minutes. I enjoyed the pizza, fresh & very hot out of the oven. The pizza was topped with plenty of red pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and slices of sausage on a firm thin crust, flimsy toward the center and thicker rolled edges. I had to let the pizza cool down a bit so the cheese & toppings wouldn't slide off. The sauce and crust were both very good and flavors on point. I will have to stop by again next time I'm headed to Biddeford to try one of their steak sandwiches and another pizza.

She went in and got a large onion ring, 3 burgers, mozzarella sticks and a slice of pizza from the hot box and she notices a light brown/dirty blonde 2" piece of hair sticking out of the pizza. At this time she respectfully points it out to the cashier & in turn says to my daughter in a very snide tone, "uhh no that's just cheese from your mozzarella sticks." My daughter responded with, "No Ma'am that's hair not cheese." And in the meantime because it is indeed disgusting, my daughter doesn't want to hold this piece of hair she drops it on the floor and wipes her hands off. Cashier calls over Samantha, "the store manager"; at this point the cashier states that the "alleged" complaint my daughter was stating was about mozzarella cheese and not a piece of hair. Samantha proceeded to belittle and degrade her by telling her that she could have that very piece of pizza for free cause she didn't have the hair in question to prove that it was true and she wasn't just attempting to get food for free. When my daughter politely declined and said she'd throw that piece out and would get a different piece and take that free piece as conciliation; Samantha argued that she would pay for the piece out of the hot box that was different then the current one on the counter. This entire power play would've never transpired if it were a grown adult as she would've known she couldn't have gotten to use her position as an attempt at power play. What a pathetic excuse of a grown woman. Shameful!

They also offer appetizers, made to order subs/wraps, burgers, salads, pizza, and wings. I stopped in here to pick up some lunch before heading to the beach. The place was very busy with a steady line of customers and one cashier in training running the checkout counter. I headed to the back of the store and ordered a Chicken Tenders Sub ($8.99 plus tax) with lettuce, tomato, onions, & mayo and a slice of Bacon Tomato Pizza ($2.75 plus tax) from the heated case. Chicken Tenders were taken out of the heated case and chopped up into smaller pieces for the sub. However, the breaded chicken tenders were very dry & crumbly mixed in with the lettuce, tomato slices, onions, and mayo on chewy sub roll. I would've thought they would deep fry the tenders fresh if I was ordering a made to order sub. The bacon pizza slice was pretty decent with a chewy soft crust.
