It's good for that sort of thing because you can mingle but also go take a seat and enjoy the game if you like. I really enjoyed it here because it's a relaxing evening, seats are good, and there's a little hilly lawn that people can go sit in to the far left of the left field seats (usually kids). Prices aren't bad for concessions. You won't be seeing MLB-related teams here; the Corn Crib belongs to Heartland Community College and hosts collegiate summer teams. A few other sports use the stadium, too.

Parking was a bit chaotic --prepare for a long wait along Raab Rd. as you get into the lot. Somehow, once in and paying the $2, it was a quick zip to a spot. I wonder if they might find a way to streamline this in the future. Getting in and getting seated is a breeze. Stadium is new so everything is very nice. Prices are fair enough, staff mostly volunteers I believe, and a decent enough selection of food and drink for a ballpark. They may still be getting their stride, but it's a good facility, a great sport to have in town, and well worth several summer visits. My only word of caution is for anyone unfamiliar with the farm leagues --they seem to play at about half the pace of the majors. You may be in for a long night --if anything more bang for the buck (yawn) right?

Walt Bittner Park is named after a former Mayor of Bloomington who was an advocate for parks, recreations and zoos. It is fitting that a park dedicated to one who was himself dedicated to parks be one of the nicer parks out there. This park is situated in a subdivision. It has plenty of open spaces in which you can walk and enjoy the scenery. There is a smaller jungle gym playground area which kids can play. Next to that is a basketball court that is in the shape of a triangle. Not sure what to call that but it's a unique layout. Off to the side, there is a gazebo in which you can use to host events. All in all, it was a nice park to visit and the kids that live in the area are lucky to have such a nice park within walking distance.

Watching Redbird basketball here is something anyone in the Bloomington/Normal should do and do often. Great atmosphere and usually a fun crowd. Concessions are a little pricey but usually go to a non-profit, school, or scouts so that helps.

So ridiculously stupid. The concession stand offerings were also lame and unhealthy. I bought $5 bottle of water and $8 grilled chicken breast sandwich. No mayo offered, only ketchup and mustard. I removed most of the bun so I could eat it. We won 42-10, it was a blow out and most Illinois State fans left early. Outdoor football was really cool.

Bathrooms are plentiful and clean. They still let you bring in water bottles and they have drinking fountains for refilling them -- as they should. The clear bag policy is annoying but fairly standard anymore. The inability to bring in food is also quite annoying but standard. If they are going to have that policy, they should have more concession stands so that lines are tolerable, and the concession prices are a bit brutal. But...Go Redbirds!

There's also a large grassy area that's used for soccer on the weekends and basketball courts. On the perimeter, there's a running/bike path that's probably 1/4 mile and is rarely busy.
