Randy the owner of Iron Passion was hired to do a spiral staircase for our back deck. After weeks of delays the stairs were finally ready for installation. 1. The concrete pad they put in for the base was sloppy at best. His workers left clumps of concrete on my iron fence that I had to clean of, splashes of concrete on our porch and newly painted columns. They also exposed our internet cable while digging the footing and said they would re-bury the cable before pouring the concrete. They didn't and when they installed the stairs they drilled through the cable. We now have to have a new cable bored under our driveway. 2. When stairs arrived, they didn't fit in the opening. They then asked it they could remove post on the porch to get them to "fit". They were then supposed to replace the railings, which they didn't. They left a 2' opening that drops directly off the porch. (See photo). 3. The stairs didn't fit because the weren't built correctly. The platform at the top was to fall in the middle of existing rails, which they did not. The bottom step was to face driveway, so when you stepped off, you would step on to the driveway. Because they were built wrong, you step off at the edge of the concrete pad into the rocks. 4. They didn't do any sort of bracing on the stairs. They used screws that are screwed directly in to the existing porch 2x4's. Those screws will quickly become loose and break away without support causing the stairs to be unsafe. 5. I have requested for Randy to come out and inspect the work, which he has refused to do. Please consider hiring this company to do any work. They don't see the job through and could careless if any problems occur and do nothing to correct them read more

We were interested in getting a custom gate for our house and I emailed this company. They responded really quickly through email. I called them to get more information and what I needed as I saw their work on their website. I spoke to a Randy and he said he would call me back to figure out his schedule to come out. I did not hear from him that day or for 3 days so I decided to call again and he gave me the same answer "I'll look at my schedule and call you back". He never called. My hubby finally decided to call and Randy answered and actually scheduled to come out on a Saturday and that we would confirm with him Thursday. Well he never answered his call nor did he come on the day he said he was coming. I don't know what kind of business they are trying to run here but they have poor customer service and they just don't care. You lost my business. read more

I purchased an iron screen door and matching custom security bars for our home's back door & porch from Iron Passion recently, and I could not be more pleased with them. They don't scream "security" at all - if anything, it just looks like we classed up our back porch. In fact, I think we're going to have to step it up with the patio furniture, now. I initially contacted quite a few iron companies in the area, and in the end I went with these guys. My important points were: - Response speed/ability to get the job done quickly - Ability to communicate via email - Reliability - Quality of portfolio They delivered on every point. They had what I wanted and were able to come measure the next day and fabricate it in just a couple of weeks. They were never more than 20-30 minutes late on arriving at the house, which, if you've ever worked with any type of contractor before, is basically miraculous. Very professional. I was also really happy with the fact that they had a variety of finishes to work with, including a bronze faux finish (at no additional charge) that turned out really beautiful. It looks fantastic with our brick & paint colors. Despite being so pretty, the iron work is also quite secure - I sort of did a "kick the tires" test and tugged here and there - solid. They were even helpful when it came to suggestions on window replacement (through a different company), which ended up saving me a bunch of money and trouble. I'm looking forward to working with them again, when (assuming our HOA approves, sigh) we'll eventually replace our front door to match the back one. If they can replicate the experience I just had with them, I would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Poor poor poor customer service. They do beautiful work on the actual gate but installation is sloppy. They cracked my tile floors and when I called about it, Randy said that happens sometimes. Like an idiot, I used them again. I had a third gate installed. I said I wanted a latch to match one of the other two gates that were already installed. They didn't listen. They used a third different type latch. So now I have three gates with three different type latches. The third one is loud, bulky and just cumbersome to use. I tried my best to deal with it but I finally had enough and asked them to fix it. $290 to fix it! It's their mistake but I have to pay $290 to have them replace it with a thin piece of metal across the top. I was even willing to negotiate the price but Randy would not budge. How stupid! Three different latches for three gates right next to each other. That doesn't even sound logical. Find someone else to do business with. I didn't learn the first time. read more

Randy does great work but the follow-up on warranty work is pretty bad. Wind howls through our new double front door. After one month, I finally got them out here to repair by threatening them. It turns out that a special weather stripping is required due to the lake winds. He is supposed to have ordered it but I have not heard back. In one week, I go to the Better Business Bureau. After a couple of years we needed a minor repair, Randy came to our home and made the repairs while we were away. he provided this extra service even though we are in Tarrant county about an hours drive from his location. read more

The initial call and visit to the business went well. I even had a tour of the work area. I placed an order for a second floor outdoor rail. They delivered the rail on schedule and proceeded to install over a new tile floor using a very dull drill not suited to drilling tile. The installer drilled into four tiles, two at the ends, two in the middle and broke every tile he drilled. I wish I had been looking over his shoulder, I would have stopped him with the first tile damage, evidently he didn't have the good sense to stop. They had also chipped the edge of two other tiles getting it raised to the second porch. I called Randy to tell him and his Mr Nice Guy Christian persona disappeared. He accepted zero responsibility for the damage "I never said we wouldn't break tile". My response was "you said you do installation on tile all the time". That was my last conversation with him. I don't need more contact with this kind of person. So I had to pay to have the entire row of tile replaced and pay another installer to complete the job. This has cost me over $800.00 dollars. Randys iron work was good. His installation and customer care rate a zero. Horrible experience. read more
