The students are the ones losing out due to them shifting to be a very punitive type of campus. They have taken retaliatory actions against my children for me pointing out their hypocrisy and sadly the kids are only there because they want to be there whereases before I loved and supported the school and wanted them there, now i dont but they want to be there, so im trying to put up with it but many parents i talk to are disappointed with them as well, and new parents should be warned. They cut dozens of good teachers due to loss of students, but they seem to want to push more out!!!

When my son was in kindergarten he had to have ankle surgeries, I wasn't scared, I was terrified; millions of questions in my head, will my son fall behind? will he be bullied? can he keep up? Ms.Waldron my son's kindergarten teacher took the time to find out everything about the surgeries, offer to visit my son while he was off to teach him what he will miss and when it was time to return to school We found out she had search everywhere till she could borrow a wheelchair and a little wagon to push my son in the classroom and the students will take turns taking him places and always making him feel equal; even till this day I get tears of joy. My son finished kindergarten advance in math and a fluent reader. My oldest son did not start reading till he almost finish first grade and I never had any connections with his teachers but only the mandatory basics. The teacher wasn't just an amazing human and kind woman but she is an outstanding well qualified teacher whom I can't wait for my youngest to be her student as well. It's horrible that some individuals can express so poorly about something they know nothing about.... Ignorance at its fullest.

Living in the area, we are fortunate to have many options to consider: from public, to charters, to private faith and non-faith based schools. And, although my husband is an alumni of OLPH, I did not want that to influence my decision. However, I simply could not deny how comfortable I immediately felt and how impressed I was with the tour. It started with the kindness that I received as I walked into the office to start my tour. Another parent overheard that I was touring and welcomed me and told me about how happy she was with the school and the faith community. My tour guide Maria was so patient and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. And let me tell you I threw a lot at her as I'd done my homework! One thing that struck me was that no matter where we went on campus, there were connections. It became clear how much teachers and staff truly love what they do. Multiple teachers have 20+ year legacies, while others are former alumni, and still others started as homeroom moms and are now on the administrative staff! What makes them stay? Their dedication to educating children and providing a faith-based environment, their devotion to their teaching ministry, and the amazing staff they work with every day to shape our children into kind, responsible young people. It isn't just the teachers who have this legacy, but it's also the parents. In fact, there are some families who have sent three generations to the school! Like my husband, many former graduates send their children to OLPH. This is what makes the community unique and special. Then, there is the academics. With small class sizes and highly qualified teachers, your child will be set up for success. Besides the core subjects, every class from K-8 learns Spanish. Additionally, the school has a Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) room where creativity blooms. Lastly, as a faith-based school, religion is interwoven into the curriculum. The day begins with morning prayer and students volunteer to do readings over the loud speaker for all to hear. With weekly Mass and Sacrament preparation included in the day, children become full members of the church by the end of the third grade. Not Catholic? No problem! Although religion is a required part of the curriculum, receiving the Sacraments is a personal choice and many families choose our school with different religious or non-religious beliefs. We found The United School (needed grade 1 and higher) while our grandson attended Kindergarten at another small, yet excellent, inclusive pre-school/Kindergarten in North Scottsdale. The facilities at USFA are outstanding, the teachers and staff are professional, knowledgeable, and caring, and there are a variety of elective classes during the regular school day, in addition to after-school clubs that are varied and interesting. Speech and occupational services are available for an additional fee, but the therapists hold sessions at school and accept ESA funds. The school holds parent-teacher conferences on a regular basis, and students are tested regularly in specific subjects in order to ascertain concrete achievement, which facilitates the movement to a higher level of study. In addition, the school has full-time BCBA's on campus, who help facilitate the achievement testing. One of the highlights of each quarter is The Student Showcase, which highlights the wonderful work that students produce throughout each quarter. Our grandson has attended USFA for three years; he loves going to school. And we love seeing his smiling face at the end of each school day.

She received 100% in her Language Arts 3rd grade 4th quarter and they still insisted that she wasn't ready for 4th grade due to behaviors. Since the start of the school year, my daughter struggled with the high demand that was being placed on her to fit into their programs and she was purposely placed in lower academic curriculum due to her behavior and I tried to constantly advocate that the behaviors were due to boredom but no one would listen to me. I was told that until my daughter started following directions and behaviors improve, her academic would stay the same. I just recently had my daughter's IQ tested and it came back top 5%. She tested into 5th grade reading and 7th grade spelling; her math was behind because the school refused to teach her grade level math telling me initially that she was behind and then they said oh we are too ahead in the curriculum and we can't have her join the 3rd grade class then they wanted me to get her caught up during the summer if she wanted to be in 4th grade. The owner (Victoria) just doesn't really care about your children. Your child is just $$$$ to her. She just wants the money and wouldn't care if your child succeeded or not. They have also had such a huge turn over with their staff and I am not surprised at all. The only reason I tried this place was cause of the so called "great reviews". I usually don't like to place reviews, but I just had to share since so many people recommend this school! I would be very careful with placing my child here.
