It's a really narrow, small cider house and I think there may have been more seating back out, but we just took a seat at the bar. There was also a small stage for live performances. The bartender was a young girl and told us it wasn't really apple season anymore, so they only had one type of cider on tap. I got the cider and my boyfriend a gin + tonic. Surprisingly, the gin + tonic was really easy to drink and hardly tasted like alcohol, so I swapped my cider with his drink, hah. Nothing to rave about for the drinks, but also nothing to complain about. What pushed me to give RBR that 4th star is the service. Ever watch 'Me Before You'? Well our young bartender reminded me so much of the main girl in that (who also played Khaleesi in GoT) - a totally wholesome, quirky, genuine character. She gave us the low down on her favorite places in the area, and even let us borrow her laptop to do some research so we could figure out what we were doing tomorrow! And when we paid with a CC and were told we couldn't add tip via that after we asked about it, she reassured us we didn't have to tip and that most people don't there. Still wish we had AUD at the time to do so cause she was a total sweetheart.

The whole…read moretour last about 90 mins - the actual tour was about 60 mins and the last 30 mins was for beer tasting. The beer tour was OK - you get to see different parts of the brewery and since we came on a Sunday, nothing was actually happening. I gave this tour a three stars because I hated the silly yellow vest and the eye goggles that I had to wear . Even though the tour was quite informative, I felt that the guides were not *that* knowledgeable as they could not answer some people's questions. The beer tasting at the end of the tour was quite interesting, you get to try two beers that are only available in Tasmania. The local cheese that they serve with the beer was pretty awesome!

We decided to just have a few pints to taste and check out the museum. Cute little history of the brewery but would probably be boring for the kids. We then got a cheese platter and sat out in the sun trying different pints. The cheese selection is pretty good. I recommend getting some of the cheese in the store to take home. They also have some beer on tap that you can only get in Tasmania! Not all of their beers are on tap though.

Who would have thought I'd find great American style food in Launceston! Was in town for a week for…read morework and had been to all the TripAdvisor "must try" places so went on a limb and gave this place a shot. I can honestly say this is better than most things in the area. Food was exceptional. We split the seafood gumbo and special BBQ plate with brisket, wings, and ribs. I've been living in Sydney for a few years without tasting accurate imitation American southern food until coming down to Tasmania. The flavours were on point, though parts of the execution left things to be desired. The gumbo had the right flavours and perfect amount of kick. The ribs fell off the bone. Fried chicken seemed like it had been sitting around for a bit so lost the crispy on the outside, though made up for it with decadent juicy on the inside texture. Sidewinder fries need to be on every menu. Decor leaves a little to be desired; loved the art but had a too heavy of a dive bar feel. All in all I will be back any time I'm in Launceston and look forward to what next seasons menu holds.

Prices are reasonable and they have an excellent drinks menu. The cocktails are worth trying too- generous in size and delicious. Over summer we'd have a cold cocktail but in winter we prefer the mulled ginger beer. Hey have excellent burgers, soups, and sides like onion rings, cauliflower Mac and cheese. They also have tacos too if you feel like something Mexican. Refer to the photos, just love this place.

The check out operator informed me that they now had a new restriction which limits the number of categories of alcohol you can purchase. I was not exceeding the number of items of the one product. I had in my trolley, a small bottle of brandy, one wine cask, and one six pack of beer. I was told to put one item back. For the life of me, I cannot see the logic in this move. OK..I accept the logic of not allowing people to walk out with 50 cases of beer. under their arm...to stop hoarding and keep stock levels up, but this 'Only 2 Categories' one defeats me. I had another thought too. Maybe Dan Murphys would be better served to have one staff member at the entrance checking everyone's temperature as they came into the store. Then they would know there was no one in the store with Corona Virus and they could dispense with all the plastic shields, crosses on the floor, litres of hand sanitiser and hopefully category limits. Too much Uncle Dan. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I was so excited to get two bottles of really good wine for the $50 gift, I was at Dan Murphy's for three quarters of an hour because they would not honour their gift card! It seems whoever my young grandson bought the card from at Dan Murphy's they did not activate the card!! So we have to pay because the staff made a mistake?? This is unconscionable and very bad business. It was only $50 - not a lot to Dan Murphy's but that is a lot to my grandson. I am very disappointed in Dan Murphy's, I was kept waiting while feeling like some kind of criminal, wondering if I would have been treated better if I wasn't an aged person. I was a member too. But now it looks like I will be shopping at BWS instead, at least I won't be embarrassed and treated like I wasn't worth anything. And my poor grandson won't be losing his money.
