SPACES Slabtown

SPACES Slabtown

(5 reviews)

Northwest, Alphabet District

Love SPACES in many cities and their location in Slabtown is fantastic and highly recommended…read morewhether popping in for a few days or a long term lease. I typically use open areas or grab dedicated desks. There are lots of sitting areas, booths, various rooms more open or quiet, a library area, phone booths and more. Staff is super friendly. Great location with even with outdoor seating, a block or two from groceries, food, coffee and cafes. 21st and 23rd streets are right there as well with tons of shops and food options. Only thing I wish was for a couple drink options on tap or in the fridges complimentary. There is a coffee / cappuccino machine that's paid though I don't personally drink that. Though if you do the prices are very low and reasonable. Overall love the place and it's a regular spot when in town.

Look out for hidden undisclosed charges and a labyrinth of no one to speak to over billing errors…read more I want to like them, but their business practices are so so sketchy I just can't. By the way, If you happen to sign a 6 month contract you may think that is the length of your contract, right? Nope. If you don't formally cancel a full three months in advance your contract auto renews with fees... and you are on the hook to pay that. If they make a mistake with billing you are on the hook to pay it because there is no way to appeal anything --it seems to all be automated from some centralized office and all they give you is a phone number to call and you will be on hold for hours and hours and hours. Never getting to talk woth a human being. By the way, that really nice friendly personable sales person who showed you the office when you signed up? Yeah, you'll never speak to them again --they don't take your calls after that. There seems to be no one person who has any authority to make any changes to errors that they make, misinformation and tricky hidden fees are the norm. It is so frustrating and maddening. I never write bad reviews, but I just hope that someone reading this can avoid all that trouble. When I started running into this terrible service at Spaces I started reading reviews and I saw that this had happened over and over and over to other people. I just wish I had read those reviews in advance.

Equity Pacific Real Estate - Equity Pacific Real Estate

Equity Pacific Real Estate

Kerns, Northeast Portland

I've had the pleasure to work with both Jason Waxberg and Ben Ficker at Equity Pacific. I lost six…read moremonths of my life to an especially difficult 1031 exchange. I sold rental property in another state and made three purchases in Oregon. I dealt with more than a dozen brokers and agents, representing me and others. Jason and Ben are the best of the best, in both knowledge and customer service. Jason stands out most for his industry knowledge. He knows all the Portland neighborhoods and most of the multi-unit properties available. He has construction knowledge to strongly support your pre-inspection decision making. I made a lot of mistakes in my search for properties because I was from out of state, but once Jason got involved the process was much more focused and effective. I believe in old-fashioned customer service, which is almost impossible to find these days, but Jason supported me to the very end of the deal I did with him, even when the lender was the problem. Ben was my agent for a separate purchase, and is also rental expert. Ben works harder than almost anyone I know. At one point in my deal, he was on vacation in another country, but he still got more done for me than any other agent I've worked with. There were a lot of different types of repairs needed for a building I was buying. It could have delayed the deal by months, because local vendors were overbooked and scheduling estimates three to four weeks out. Ben found a general contractor and two other vendors to get everything done quickly. About a week before closing, a tenant made a complaint to the city. We had to make a few more fixes and get a city inspection. Ben made it happen and kept us on schedule. Buying real estate is stressful. Ben is a high-empathy person. Instead of bringing me problems, he always brought solutions. You can buy and sell rental property with general real estate agents, but I wouldn't recommend it. A rental specialist can easily get a better price for your sale and negotiate better price and terms when you're buying. I got a great property that was never listed, at a great price, because they know people in the rental industry. Rental deals are specialty deals and you need someone knowledgeable. You can't do better than Equity Pacific.
