Service department tells me they have people with the same issue waiting for over 6 months with no car to drive. They don't know when an engine will appear, don't know what to tell me, toss out a toll free number and suggest I call Ford directly rather than trying to work with the customer and Ford for resolution. What ever happened to service advocates? Ford has closed one ticket and never got back to me with a resolution. Did not respond to multiple email and voicemail messages. I've reopened the issue with hopes of getting some kind of resolution. Meanwhile, I will tell the story and hope I can inform and save someone else a little indigestion. Update: have made multiple contacts to Ford. Rebuilt engines exist online; however, they will not agree to service or pay for a fix with alternate parts.

I suppose all of those Super Bowl tv commercials convinced me that the best place to take a Ford when the 'check engine' light comes on is a GENUINE Ford mechanic. WRONG. TriCity Ford will not hold themselves responsible for failing a customer. Everyone already knows that going to the dealership for service is the most expensive option. This business takes that unearned 'best' notion straight to the curb. Our daughter's Ford FIESTA indicated that there was 'transmission failure' and while driving the automatic transmission was stuck in Low. TRI-CITY FORD charged her a flat diagnostic rate of $151.57 ("it COULD take from 2 minutes to five hours" said the manager). The service dept at TriCity said on May 5 2022 that "the repair would cost between $900-$1000, but that the parts might not be available for months." When I described the diagnostic device to the manager - while he was looking at our receipt - he confirmed that it was the same tool. This discussion with the manager took place 10 minutes after the owner of the used car lot where she bought this car fixed the problem in less than a minute using the same device TriCity Ford mechanics used, and he did it for FREE. After wasting about ten minutes of my life talking to the acting manager of the dealership, no refund was given nor offered from a business selling cars that cost tens of thousands of dollars. He even tried to blame-shift this on his service department, and I corrected him. "YOU are where the buck stops, you can refund this, and we are getting nowhere." And left. I won't be back. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ANYONE FOOL ENOUGH TO ENTRUST THEIR FAMILY VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS.

Two years after installation, they have collapsed and I need another set. That's not my worst experience. I had them do the tune up where the serpentine belt, water pump, tensioners were replaced. Not a cheap job. The "Tune Up" lasted around 5000 miles before my wife and I found ourselves stranded on Wendover Ave., Greensboro. This is a very busy road and we were in a dangerous position after the car stopped. The car just died suddenly. The car was towed to a AAA recommended shop. They diagnosed the problem as the serpentine belt having slipped. The most likely cause of the problem was failure to replace the tensioners or put in quality tensioners. Later, into the teardown, the belt was found to be two notches off. We were told that there was a possibility that the belt was put in one notch off originally. This made sense as the car seemed to have more power after the repair. We have since traveled 15k with the new tune up with no problems. This car has am interference engine. We are lucky that the shop's incompetence or, doing jobs on the cheap, did not result in the destruction of the engine!!! AVOID this shop if possible!!!

Now I'm 21 and I know next to nothing about cars so I asked her if she could look at it really quick. She agreed and drove it around the parking lot. She came back and told me my transmission needed to be replaced and it was going to be around 4K. She isn't say it meanly just in a matter of fact way. I started crying because I had gotten my car 9 months earlier and I took perfect care of it. Now the thing to you is I have a Nissan Versa so this wasn't my fault. It was a defect in the transmission of the car. Susan explained that to me and didn't make me feel stupid. This is where the five stars come in. Seeing my distress Susan pulls out every trick she has to try and me a loan. She went above and beyond in her pursuits. She just wanted to help a kid that was in over her head. She finally threw a Hail Mary and asked me to call the finance company to see if they would extend my loan. That was when I found out that my finance snuck in a warranty without me or the dealership knowing. Because of Susan's forward thinking and creativity I am saved a lot of money. Susan is the secret as to why this place is amazing. She is kind and carrying. She just looks out for anyone that walks through her doors. She is a genuine person. When I was breaking down for my situation Susan was there fo help me out Anyway she could. I will be taking my car here for anything it needs. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

They had my truck for a month this last time, refused to return any of my calls regarding the truck but all of a sudden today I had to rush 3 hrs bc it had to be picked up that day and they still did nothing. It was in better shape before they tried to fix it. Smh I guess some men will try to get over on anyone. I wouldn't recommend the raleigh shop either bc in their opinion there was nothing wrong with the transmission they put in. It wouldn't go into gear or move more than a foot, but everything was good.
