1-Star Review -- Please Read Before Hiring I am the owner of…read moreLaura's Cleaning and More, and I have been working for this family for 8 yrs. We are writing this review to address a very disappointing experience with Luminous Home Services. We were given a verbal price of $575 for exterior window cleaning on a two-story home. We decided the day of the job not to have the upstairs windows cleaned, so naturally we expected the price to be adjusted accordingly. Instead, when we requested an invoice, we received a document labeled "QUOTE" for $784. The actual work was very disappointing. The windows were left streaked, the screens were not removed as promised, and the window frames/tracks were left with mold, bugs and debris. The worker also left hoses out, soaked rugs on the patio, and did not put everything back the way it was found. As someone who owns and operates a cleaning business, I can tell you that this was not the level of work or professionalism I would expect from a company charging this amount of money. There were also several other serious red flags. We originally learned about this company through an unsolicited text message sent to Mrs. Betty's phone. The message represented the sender as "CR3 American Exteriors" and offered roofing, siding, windows, gutters and remodeling services. After investigating, we contacted the owner of CR3 American Exteriors, who told us he was not happy that his company's information had apparently been used in this solicitation. We also found it concerning that the person who actually performed the work, Manuel, had the check made payable directly to him rather than to Luminous Home Services. He was at the house for only 3 hours, Randy came home for lunch and Manuel insisted to be payed, this caused an argument and confusion. We attempted to stop payment on the check as soon as we realized there was a problem, but unfortunately Manuel had already cashed it immediately after leaving the job. He left in a hurry and did not put things away etc.. The person I spoke with by phone, Andreas, said he knows Manuel and offered to have the problems corrected. Unfortunately, it took two days to finally get someone on the phone after the problems arose. At this point, we do not want Manuel returning to the property. Given the number of inconsistencies and red flags surrounding this transaction, we do not feel comfortable having him back in the home while Mrs. Betty is there. We are not refusing to give the company an opportunity to make things right. We are requesting a reasonable partial refund for the work that was not performed and the work that was not completed as promised. We would welcome a call from the owner of Luminous Home Services to discuss this and resolve the matter fairly. Two days have passed now and they are not returning our calls. I will post photos showing the condition of the windows after the cleaning. Please be cautious when responding to unsolicited text-message solicitations. Make sure you know exactly who you are hiring, who will actually be performing the work, what company you are paying, and exactly what services are included in the price.
