Like the place! Theres a reason Joliet & surrounding areas have been a wasteland for years because of lack of craft beer. Recently, some local places like Will County, Mad Hatchet and Werkforce have popped up. How bout Minooka & Morris? At least Iron & Glass have shown up in Minooka. I like the fact they will push local breweries & well as any micro breweries. Similar to the Romeoville store, they have several coolers & shelves set up, along with a tap area & extra seating in the back. To me, their space seems smaller in size than I & G in Romeoville. Their service is just as good. Both guys in there, the day I was there bent over backwards to try and help me locate anything I was looking for. A patron purchased a bomber size bottle of coffee stout and had pours for his pals who were seated. The guy working the bar approached me when I was looking in the coolers for selections, and asked if I would like a sample, and pointed at the bottle on the bar. I asked who bought the bottle, and asked the patron " Are you sure you want to share? " He says " Sure, thats what we're all here for." Very kind gesture by him ,and a nice prompt from the shopkeeper. Thats why I like these types of places. They are unusually friendly. Both, mgmt & the customers. I had to be somewhere but, also felt like sitting down and making friends with people sitting there. Its an easy going pace, these Iron & Glass stores. Little bit liquor store feel, little bit bar. I dont encounter these places often. Prices can be slightly higher here than a liquor store, but they have offerings you don't often encounter elsewhere. Id like to see them expand coolers and shelves. I think they have the space but aren't utilizing all of it properly. Little realignment of seating would do them wonders. However, a place worth patronizing, as they do some promotions and will also give free pours. They will also sell single cans. Not many places do that. Check them out! read more
