Murph's is a great place for the locals. They have lunch and dinner specials. The ambiance was casual and friendly. When we walked in the Grateful Dead was playing, the lights were dimmed low, and there was a cool breeze coming from the front door being opened for us. We were greeted by the other guests, as the bartender was in the back of the house, helping with a lunch order. We chose the hot wings and boy were we super impressed. The bathrooms were clean, and there is an atm if you need some cash. You can also play music while enjoying your favorite food and drink. They have games you can play for points. The best things in life are simple. Murph's has no airs and graces but offers friendly and efficient service, cold beer and really decent bar food at good value. Came here tonight for our monthly Tech Beers meetup and had a small gathering of about 15 people. Nice atmosphere amongst a crowd of regulars. Will be back for sure. read more

I used to frequent this establishment years ago but stopped due to club members and bikers overpopulating the place. Eleven years later I'm back in the area and was looking forward to visiting Murphs again, with hope things changed. I really enjoyed the first couple visits, and then I opened my eyes. Unfortunately, Gary the owner passed and the bar is now run by his girlfriend. Patrons say run into the ground. Although the bar appears clean and kept up, new floors and some other updates, it seems that drugs are still a prevalent part of this establishment. On two occasions I witnessed strange activity at the back door which I believe is their kitchen door. I met the owner last week who had a "substance" in her nose and I immediately knew this was not the place for me. Perhaps this is temporary but it doesn't appear the girlfriend wants to run the bar and would rather be sitting on a bar stool. Food has gone downhill as well. Fortunately there are a couple new to me bars in the area so I'll take this place out of my gps for another 11 years. read more

I unfortunately went to Murph's on a night when they had live acoustic music. Usually the musicians are pretty good except for on 3/25/23 when some woman was singing and ruined my entire experience. The food at Murph's is decent as well as the prices but their choice that night for live entertainment left much to be desired. Next time I will check the events list on Facebook to make sure that I don't have to eat while listening to a washed up, out of tune, Janis Joplin wanna be. My ears are still bleeding. read more

Stopped in yesterday just as they reopened after losing power. Not counting us and the staff there were maybe five other patrons at the bar. I asked the bartender/owner if he could put the NASCAR race on one of the many TVs and was told flat out NO. I finished my drink and we left. I went and spent my money at a better establishment and watched the race there. Will not be returning to this bar. read more

Can't go higher than 3 stars because this is technically a "dive bar"... but a really good one. Ownership recently changed hands, and they've made changes all for the better. Service improved, it's cleaner, and they've added some quality to beer on tap. Our neighbourhood watering hole, my wife and I sometimes end up here when we're whoopin' it up like a couple of red necks on payday. A great place for an inexpensive drink and a generous pour. Friendly staff and always a fun and interesting cast of characters inside. read more

I was out of town on business and for my last night on the east coast I decided to go find an Irish pub ( plus I was dying to visit Delaware) I stumbled upon this place on google maps, and decided to give it a try. I was hesitant at first because I always like to read a menu online before I go somewhere, but I just said screw it, I'm going! When I walked in I didn't know what to expect. I sat up at the bar, and was immediately greeted by the bartender Heather. She had a FULL BAR and I'm talking not an empty seat around her. She was diligent, and on top of it. I think she knew I was an unfamiliar face as it seems they are a local spot and everyone knew everyone. She took her time to make me feel welcome, and was so very friendly! I ordered the crab cake dinner... and let me tell you... Being from the Seattle area I've had some great seafood!! But these crab cakes were phenomenal!! They were clearly handmade to order and not a ton of filler crap like a lot of places do. It was all lump crab and seasoning and they were just awesome. Hometown atmosphere and really fair prices. If I'm ever in Delaware again, I will definitely go back and see Heather! Sometimes it's not just the food that makes a place great, it's the service those people provide that really counts!! read more

I sat at the bar watching the Eagles game and ordered a burger. 30 min later with a view into the kitchen and wondering how long this burger was going to take I noticed a small flame up on the grill. the cook was at the bar and I was going to tell him but he was busy making himself a drink and doing a shot. I tried to flag down bartender to let them know there was a small grill fire in the kitchen but to no avail. cook finally headed back to smoke filled kitchen and a few min later came out and asked how I wanted my burger cooked. ugh. My boyfriend and I stopped by for a quick bite and I highly recommend it. We could tell the bartender was busy (for a Sunday afternoon) but she still gave us exceptional service, constantly checking up on us and starting conversation. I was looking for a good watering hole when I moved to town. I stumbled across Murphs and have felt at home there every since. The staff is great, the bartenders quickly learned my name and have always been attentive to me when I come in. Although they are often busy they always make time to ask me how things are going. I feel comfortable taking my wife there and I even would go as far to say when my family comes in town I would gladly take them to get a drink and possibly even dinner at Murphs. Not only do they serve great drinks but their pool tables are well maintained and affordable to play. The bar tending staff is not the only plus, they have a great kitchen, management with actual integrity and a clean atmosphere which can be hard to find these days. Not only is the beer cold, the food I order from the kitchen always comes out fresh. The food being fresh and affordable is definitely the icing on top of the cake for me. I can honestly say Murphs is a strong 10/10. read more
