A few months later, my father became ill and could no longer care for him. I was also ill (this has been the year from hell) and couldn't come to bring him to his new home with us in Portland with. On short notice, Lanelle took care of him for us for more than a month (maybe even 2?), sending us photos of him in pumpkin patches, doing yoga poses, looking clearly happy. And she did all sorts of extra things to help us, like take him to the vet and calling around to get the certificate of health needed for the ground transport service to bring him to me. And the most endearing thing was how she checked in with me several times after she sent him off, missing him, wanting updates and to know he was well. Now that is the kind of woman you want caring for your special little fur-babies. WOW. just wow. She helped us through a time of crisis, providing Kabuki with stability and love when he most needed it and we couldn't be there for him. We couldn't have done it without her. Now our little pup is happily enjoying his retirement in Portland.

She was very understanding of the immediate need and handled the situation and call with true compassion and care. Kris is an animal lover through and through and she also volunteers at animal shelters in addition to her work pet sitting. She certainly knows a lot about cats and was able to give several recommendations and tips when asked. She is licensed, insured and pet first aid/cpr trained. The rates are fair and reasonable. She got excellent care both times, and I am switching from Newport to Angel. A diabetic dog needs a vet who's available, and Dr. Andrew, good though he is, is not dependable. Even a heads up about the days he would be gone would have been helpful. It's a huge plus that Angel has more than one vet, and I really like the two I've seen.

We needed to go out of town. We have two middle age cats that, until now, did not need daily care…read more(hire a neighborhood kid to make sure water and food are full, and sometimes scoop some litter) . One of them recently got diagnosed with Diabetes. We had to go out of town for three days, and he now needs 2 daily injections. Our vet suggested Laura. I called her and what we needed fit well into her already busy schedule. She came over and met the cats. They are cats that generally do not like strangers. She stayed and talked to them, and gave them a few treats, until they trusted her to pet them. She took meticulous notes about feeding schedule, insulin requirements, etc. We left. We have a Ring doorbell. She arrived almost to the minute of the agreed feeding times. She texted when she arrived. She sent pictures of the cats as they were eating, and after, as she spent some time with them. She followed up as she was leaving, explaining what she had done, to include pictures of the level of insulin she was injecting. This was the fist time we required care like this, and we were very worried about the level of care that would be given. We even discussed not being able to go on vacation again. Laura went completely above and beyond our highest expectations. She made our first experience in this newly required care level easier than when we tried to hire a neighborhood kid to add food to the bowl. We are forever grateful that we had her to hold our hands during this new requirement. She is going to be the very first call any time we need to leave the house. Our fears will not exist now, knowing that she is caring for our cats. we are VERY GRATEFULL to having being led to her for our pet's needs. She is a 15 on a scale of 1-10. Thank you Laura!

From the point one in our arrangement, I knew she is the most ideal candidate for the job. My cat is incredibly shy and does not trust people easily; she typically hides even when family members visit our house. To address that, Kirsten invested time in getting to know my Ema over the course of several acclimation visits, and each time establishing a closer contact with the cat. As a result of this, Ema bonded with Kirsten by the time I had to go for my extended trip. Kirsten would provide detailed reports and photos from each of her visit. She would not only feed, clean and take care of Ema daily, she also filled that special space to make her comfortable and not lonely. She brushed and played with her, enticed her with treats, and did such an amazing job all around, that I had no concerns being away for such a long time.
