I thought I was done with maple weekend 2026. I had five maples on Saturday alone! But my wonderful passenger pointed out, as I headed south through Massachusetts - "oh, I think that's another maple event?" "Where?" So I looked around and saw the cars parked behind me. U-turn. Pack into the gravel lot. And... go pet the cows. Yup, this is truly a farm. The barn smells like animals and you can pet the goats. All the staff is friendly and there to explain maple, farming, whatever you'd like. For maple weekend? Excellent. We went into the Calf-a (sound that out) and there was a fairly long waitlist, but passed the time in the maple steam room with free samples! and perhaps the most interesting samples of all. Maple mustard. Various maple dips. And while they were not cheap, the staff did work together to get me some Grade B maple, which is so hard to find nowadays. It's now in my fridge. Once our names were called, we found a great variety on the menu for a very reasonable price. I got two pecan pancakes, fresh made, and my lady got one maple cranberry, made with the cranberries that were used to infuse the cranberry maple syrup. Our table got an entire pitcher of maple to pour as we pleased - yes, I do please. I took a pair of maple donuts to go, and they do not taste like cider donuts. The maple stands out. Fresh made and soft. I know maple is March, but this farm seems like a winner any time of the year you're passing by. read more

Hidden gem! What a fun, educational, and generally wonderful experience. I would say this is appropriate for kids aged 0 to probably tween. The property is huge and beautiful, with lots of games and animals to feed and discover. The playground is huge and actually a few different playgrounds. Admission is a little steep, but well worth it given you can spend hours here and also support a small, local business. read more

Went there on a Sunday for syrup and breakfast. There were 5 total(3 adults and 2 kids) Ordered breakfast, 2 out of 5 received their breakfast. When someone came over to check on us (not our server) we said we were still waiting for 3 orders. About 15 minutes went by, no food. Was offered corn muffins ( which we don't eat). About 10 more minutes food arrived. Got it to go since others had finished long ago. Was told there was a mix up, take it as a learning experience and have a good day. No discount, come back again on us, etc. The bill was 71.00. read more

My friends and I come visit this place every year and try to retake the tree hole picture :) The farm is very quaint and there's a lot of activities to do for kids. The animals look fairly happy and they have excellent maple syrup and honey! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the process and have shown us around the farm. This is one of my most favorite stops during our trips and highly recommend to visit if you're in the area :) read more

Ioka Valley Farm - Christmas Trees Near Me - Hancock, Massachusetts

Despite the rain, our party of five, with toddler in tow, had a great time here. They were decked out for Halloween, with a nicely arranged Halloween presentation in their barn. Of course the highlight is always feeding the animals including goats, cows, chickens and alpacas. They have games, a playground, pumpkin patch (in the fall), a basic café, cow train, and many other activities. According to their website Ioka Valley Farm is a family owned and operated working farm dedicated to providing high quality locally grown products and enjoyment for all ages. They are open seasonally, call ahead for hours & activities. Maple products and natural beef are available year round by appointment or by chance, and can be pre-ordered for farm pickup. 2020 Covid guidelines: * Everyone Must Wear a Face Mask * Stay/play together as a family * Maintain social distancing - 6 feet from other families * Wash hands/use sanitizer frequently. * No Pets We'd be happy to return here, and hopefully will do so under sunnier skies! read more

Went up to my friend's house upstate last weekend and had to stop by one of our favorite farms! It was all decked out for Halloween and had a bunch of fun activities. Unfortunately it was raining a bit so we tried to stay inside and check out the delicious array of food items. Although a bit pricey, the syrup is completely worth it and is some of the most genuine that I have tasted! They also have these cute cut outs that me and my friends took photos in despite our age! Overall, fun place to visit and get some delicious syrup themed treats! read more

Came to MA for a snowboarding trip with some friends. Ended up at Ioka Valley Farm one day and had a great time! Got a lesson on the maple making process, got to taste the different types of syrup, and had a delicious meal! Scarfed down my food too fast to take a picture, but did get a picture of the goodies I bought! Got some maple butter (arguably the best thing I've ever tasted), maple cream, maple fudge, and bourbon maple syrup. read more

Love this place. Me and my boyfriend are regulars here for breakfast and its my favorite place to go! I wish they did breakfast all year round, but I guess its nice to have something to look forward to in the spring. read more

A great local favorite - 3 generations now -- this family run farm offers "agri-entertainment" for all seasons. About half a mile from Jiminy Peak Ski Resort. Established in 1936 and it's still an active farm. The farm is open all year round but it has seasonal hours so don't go by the general hours listed on Yelp or Google. You should always call to check. For the most part, it's open all day but certain parts of the farm does close. For ex: They sell Christmas trees in the Winter and host a "Santa Hat" ride to go pick your tree, have a strawberry and pumpkin patch for the Fall, sell & grow corn in the Spring to Summer months, and sell their hay. In the summer, they host rides for kids - painted metal cow cars that are pulled by a truck. Very cute. I came here with my family over the Presidents' week holiday, 02/20/2018 and their hours for the week were 8:30AM - 3:30PM. While normally, it's only through 12:30PM. I should clarify - these are the hours for the "Calf-A"...their spin on "Café". LOL The Calf-A is known for their pancakes, in-house made maple syrup and their maple butter! Totally delicious. The breakfast was a hit with all - nothing fancy here, vinyl tablecloths in fun farm themed prints, plastic ware (utensils) or paper for everything else. Simple and disposable, as it should be. Must try - the Breakfast Sandwich - Ham and Cheese sandwiched by French toast. We ordered it w/ a side of scrambled eggs. Don't judge by the looks ... it was all good regardless. Another surprise was the maple lemonade. It reminded me of a lemonade tea (half/half) given the color but it was really still lemonade with a hint of maple syrup. I bought souvenir syrups and roasted nuts at their mini-shop in the Calf-A. And we took a walking tour of the farm - saw the llamas, the chickens, the goats, and the cows...they are under a covered barn area adjacent to the Calf-A. You can feed some of them - 25 cents from a dispenser. They also do a maple syrup tour and tasting in the Sugar House but those hours are even more select and it goes by the season. This is a fun pit stop in town. Go check it out. read more

You want to have a good time. Relax, learn a little something about how maple syrup is made. Eat a warm apple cider donut with a hot beverage of your liking. Get a pumpkin and do some shopping you'll love this place. If you don't have kids it's still relaxing.... Go see the animals for free walk through the haunted barn and try your luck at the pumpkin launch.... read more

My kids spent 4.5 hours here! We had a blast and felt it was worth the price and then some. We are from DC so the cost of the farm is lower than we'd pay at home. But it was well worth the $13.00 per child! read more

Everything about this place is enduring and heartwarming starting with the gentleman at the entrance that checked my family in. A treat for all 5 of your senses. Oh I forgot, my five, six and 24 year old had fun too. read more

Very disappointed with this place. We went out of our way on a foliage trip through the Berkshires to come here and get a pumpkin only to find out they are closed all week long. Thats ok if they don't want to make money. The problem was when I was over by the pumpkin patch a man approached me and was very rude. I asked if I could purchase a pumpkin and he basically told me to get lost. In the short time I was there I saw multiple people also there looking to purchase pumpkins only to find out they couldn't. They should at very least have a sign up saying they are closed or maybe rope the pumpkin patch off? Just saying..... read more

Nice little day trip for small kids. Wednesday is grandparents/veterans free admission day. Use the port o potty outside by the pumpkin barn rather than the bathroom inside...it's cleaner and less crowded. Playgrounds with 40 ft pipe slide(big hit with my boys), goats/bunnies/cows/fowl/alpacas/pigs to feed($2.50 for a bucket of food, $1 refills) and pet. The hay maze looked a bit dark and cramped. Didn't see how well the bales were trussed up either. Kids borrowed flashlights and went in. Water pump/flume races were cool. Pedal cars, fake cows to milk, a tractor train ride. The little restaurant is not really up to the task of the demand, limited options plus credit cards have to be walked across the room to be run. Souvenirs in the shop are prettily priced. Overall fun and the kids didn't want to leave. read more

We took a group of rowdy nieces and nephews here. After satiating a whining spouse with a bucket of livestock feed, we were on our way. Ioka valley farm delivered on their promise. Everyone had their fill of goats, chickens, lambs, sheep, llama, donkey and cows. Petting and feeding them was a joy. Top it off with a slide all the adults in our groups reveled in, making our day a success. Drawbacks: the hay maze was dark and scared the kids. There wasn't a way to feed the pigs. All in all, we had a great time. read more

By far my favorite local sugar house for breakfast. Its a shame they are only open mid-Feb to mid-April! I'd give them a call to find out the dates year to year. The pancakes are fluffy and tasty.... A great place to bring 2 to 6 year olds, there are lots of fun things for them to do- feed the animals, multiple play structures, a cow train ride, and pedal carts to name a few. My daughter had a blast! We came during the summer, I bet it's great during the fall too. read more

We love Ioka farm in the fall. So many fun activities for kids: a hayride to the pumpkin patch for pick your own pumpkins and fall colored corn, a corn maze, a dark crawl through maze made of hay bales, dress up scarecrows and pumpkin house--all free. For a nominal fee, buy a bracelet to enter the play zone with pedal cars, giant slide, duck race, and lots of swings and jungle gyms. You can also feed goats and sheep, and take a ride on the cow train. The staff are incredibly cordial and welcoming. We will be back every year. read more

Great for kids, lots of educational stuff along with the typical "petting zoo" environment. Wagon rides, ride-on cars, hobby-horses, playground, ducks, etc. If you plan to spend any amount of time, bring your own food and HAND SANITIZER. They supply water but no soap to wash your hands. The gift shop is outrageously overpriced, so try to avoid letting your kids get too close. read more

Maple Syrup, Maple Popcorn, Maple Snickerdoodles, Maple-Lemon Slushies, Maple Cream, Maple Butter, Maple Cotton Candy... I could go on and on!! Ioka Valley Farm knows how to do maple right!! My boyfriend and I took his 11yr old daughter for a visit to the sugar house and cafe. We happened to visit on "Maple Weekend" and were a bit surprised when told the wait to eat at the cafe would be 30-45 minutes. We decided to take the tour and sample all the maple goodies. The folks in the sugar house were great! From the young woman in the evaporator room to the two guys in the sample room and the nice older lady out front in the "shop" area- they all made our visit very enjoyable. The samples were delicious!! We went back to the cafe (I thought maybe our pager was broken because we hadn't been called) and stood and waited. And waited. And waited. Over and hour and a half from when we had arrived, we finally got seated. I was doubtful that the food would be worth the wait, but i was was pleasantly surprised!! The apple cinnamon pancakes were amazing!! The applesauce- YUM! The maple butter with the little corn muffins- to die for!! And of course, the syrup!!!!!!! Although the wait was disappointing, by the end of our visit, Ioka Valley Farm had won us over!! The staff was great- very apologetic for the wait, and so helpful and accommodating. We left with full bellies. a gallon of their syrup and smiles on our faces!! *We actually had to go back a couple hours later because my boyfriend's daughter lost her bracelet there, and the same staff was there and remembered us and apologized again for our long wait! This day could have very easily turned into a 2 star review- but the staff at Ioka Valley Farm helped to make our day most enjoyable!! Thank you!! read more

This is a great place to take kids during the summer. There are animals you can feed (goats, pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, cows); numerous play areas with slides, swings, and climbing things; and go-carts & tricycles for kids big and small. There's even a hay maze. The proprietors have smartly supplied shaded seating areas where families can picnic or from which wiped-out parents can watch their little ones run wild. Toddlers and elementary school aged kids would likely enjoy this quite a bit. The gift shop carries maple syrup produced by the farm. They sell a few snacks, but you may want to pack food if you plan to stay for a while. read more

Best pancake breakfast in the Berkshires. Friendly, quick and tasty food with real maple syrup. Have the corn muffin and maple butter. We have been going to breakfast for 15 years. It is seasonal for two months only. Don't miss out! read more

Great atmosphere, great food, and great place to learn about how maple syrup is made. My daughter works there and she takes great pride in her work and the home cooked products that she serves. They have something going on every season from maple syrup and pancake in late winter, uncle Dons play yard in summer, pumpkins in fall, and Christmas trees in late fall/early winter. Only one mile from the Jiminy Peak Ski/adventure park. Well worth the drive to have a lasting memory of the Berkshires. read more

Great family place that has activities year round and serves breakfast in the spring.

I wasn't overly impressed. I think the staff are great the suger shack is a fun take. But really pancakes are pancakes. The best thing is having the real maple syrup they make to pour all over your food. I think it;s worth the stop but maybe just once. read more

Too pricey!! The kids had fun, but just for them to play in the play ground it was $4 a kid and then you have to pay $4 a adult to go in to watch them. paid $13 for a medium size pumpkin, not to mention how much the food is $$ for what you get. Free hay ride and free to see a few animals (which is not many) . Better farms around and you get a whole lot more for your money. read more
