The 'after party' is always the most fun, but they ran out of beer within the first 30 minutes after the 5k and there weren't many food options. This has changed/ declined a lot over the last 7 years of participation. That was a bit disappointing because I love enjoying friends and the vendors after the race. Life hack for the drinkers out there. O07 museum bar has happy hour from 2- 4 daily. It is to the right when you walk in either door. They have $5 specialty drinks during happy hour and they are really good.

For me it was like being a kid again. They had quite a few obstacles to climb, run through, slide down, run around and bounce on. You can wear what ever you want. I came in a onesies, but I was not alone, because a lot of people were dressed in a lot of different costumes and tu-tu's.. You could walk, or run the course. I was suppose to be in the 10:00 am wave, but I was late, so they put me in the 10:30 wave. This is a family friendly event, so with that being said there was a lot of children doing the race with their parents. There was also plenty of places to take pictures of your adventure. At the end we were given a medal and a t-shirt. We also were given Bing energy drinks. There was also beer for though who were interested and other food to try. I really liked this and I will be doing it again. It was a lot of fun, and great exercise. I look forward to the next fun run.

And they need plenty of outlets to power up these speedy electric go karts. This spot had immediate availability in the 5 O'Clock hour on a Saturday afternoon. We just missed the window for the one race so we had to wait 15 mins for the next one, which gives you a chance to watch some of the other races. I recommend purchasing the head sock as it lets the helmet glide on with ease. Prices are still kinda high for one race and I didn't see anything that looked like you saved money with more races. There are two tracks, basically and adult track and a child track. The carts can be pretty speedy, but they're controlled by big brother who seems to let the field drive at the pace of the field. On some laps, I felt I was going faster than on other laps. It's neat for the start/finish to slow down the cars, but I'd rather have full power the entire rest of the race. I could see myself coming here again as long as the crowds don't make it unreasonable. I guess if you did have a race time an hour or two away, there are many other things to do.

I also liked that there's no entry fee for non-riders and you can purchase rides à la carte. I ended up paying $12 for a go-kart ride and LOVED it We got there around 12 PM and it wasn't crowded at all. The lines were super short, so the students were able to ride things 3-4 times with no problem, which made it even more worth it. One of the best deals was the all day dining pass (you have to buy it online). For $24, you get 2 meals and a snack, which is a steal compared to the regular menu prices. Our first stop was Cluckees where we had tenders, wings, and fries. The portions were HUGE and everything was tasty, especially the fries. None of us could even finish our food! For our snack, we grabbed ice cream. The kids loved it, but it wasn't my favorite. Later, we went back to Cluckees for a chicken sandwich and fries for dinner. This time it wasn't as good as earlier. Maybe a different cook or just an off moment. We didn't spend time in the arcade and stayed mostly outside. The park is a pretty decent size with plenty to do. Even as the day went on and traffic picked up, it never felt overly packed. The staff was friendly and very laid back, which added to the relaxed vibe of the day. Overall, it was a good experience. The kids really enjoyed it. I'd give it a 3.5. Btw I think there is a bee problem there. I saw bees flying around often. Not enough to ruin the experience, but I definitely noticed them.

The 5k part was really muddy (thanks to typical soggy Central Florida weather) but the run course was punctuated with color changing psychedelic lights, glowing inflatables, light projections, pounding electronic music, and lots of fun glow gear. I enjoyed the run, despite the mud. When we arrived at the finish line we took some cool blacklight photos set up by The Spark Run then headed over to the DJ area to grab some food and drink. Then it happened-we could not resist Kaskade. The music and the dancing atmosphere was just infectious. We danced for two hours after doing the 5K. The setting, the weather, the music...it was all perfect. I am a huge Kaskade fan now. What a great event!

And then there were the ant bites. . . Well, it kept us running. . . It seems like I got more of a tough mudder race for a 5k along with a super show. Such awesomeness !!

I…read morebecame a member of the Orlando science center over Christmas break because we had so much fun on our first visit and now I get emails all the time about fun new events going on at the museum. One of them happened to be the mess fest that was going on this past weekend. So we decided to head out to Orlando and let me tell you it was so much fun!! They transformed one of their rooms into a fun place for the kids to get messy. You were catapulting scrunchie balls covered in paint onto a canvas sheet. There was another area where they were doing little bottle rockets with paint and Alka-Seltzer. That my kids absolutely LOVED. They also had scribble bots, a raffle painting for canvas paintings but that's not all because they had other stuff going on different floors. We got to make our own slime and we even got to go outside and watch them use liquid nitrogen to cause a bubbly explosion that the kids got to play afterwards. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.

Raw Threads always collaborates with TS to design a cute race shirt especially for the event. There is also a virtual run option for those who want to participate but can't do so on that date or who live out of town. There is always special events at the store in the week leading up to the race. They range from special bra fittings to experts coming to speak on a variety of running topics. Funds from the race help to fund mammograms for underprivileged women in Central FL so know that your race fee is going to a good cause. This race is always super duper packed so get there early( I usually park in one of the assigned FL Hospital parking garages) and make sure to enjoy all that the post race festivities offer (Hello, Krispy Kreme!). Also, this race gives out one of the prettiest medals I've seen and this year, we also got our choice of a free plant!
