We traveled to…read moreGulf Shores for our vacation last week, outfits purchased and packed, planning on capturing our special event. The day before our scheduled session, Shannon called requesting a slightly earlier meeting time due to potential bad weather. We hadn't seen any information regarding any incoming weather issues, but we agreed and planned our next vacation day around our revised appointment. Shannon called again the following day a little over an hour before the time she had set requesting another time change. She was citing impending weather conditions that she wanted to stay ahead of for the session and she was also trying to get another shoot done right after ours. We agreed but pointed out that we'd now have to hurry to get ready and travel to meet her at the pier she uses for her sessions, so there could not be any additional changes in the meeting time at this point. It is far from ideal to feel rushed when preparing for professional photographs you planned for months ahead of time that are costing you $260. As we were getting ready to leave our condo to meet Shannon at the pier, she called and canceled our session. She said she was at our meeting place getting ready and claimed it was incredibly windy, we'd be extremely unhappy with pictures taken that day, and now it was even raining at the pier. She told me she had no other times to offer us before we returned home in 2 days and commented that the weather was most likely going to cause her to cancel her sessions the following day as well. She said she'd just refund my money. We were dressed, wanted pictures, and saw no real evidence of severe weather, so we drove to the pier where it was not, nor had it been, raining. We asked some of the many people sitting out on the beach. We also had kind and caring people on the beach offer to take some pictures of us and the weather didn't interfere at all. Funny enough, the weather was clear and beautiful the next day as well, so I'm not real sure what the true issue was. Shannon refunded my money. She needed to as she chose to not conduct a professional photography session. If you're looking for professional photos at the beach in Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach, this is not who you want to book a session with. I am going to attach a few pictures that beach goers were gracious enough to take. These were not paid professionals, simply kind people who recognized we were dressed up at the beach for a reason. Also notice that the weather is not inclement. Attitude is everything Shannon and yours could use a boost of positivity.

As a person who takes punctuality very seriously, I felt extremely bad so I did what I could do at least at the moment - Keeping Lacey updated via text. Due to this styling disaster and punctuality issue, I had an anxiety attack that day yet Lacey's suggestion and guidance made me feel a lot better. By the end of the shoot, I was back to normal (haha). Zero outreach, communication was always from me, she canceled our engagement photo session after we had already booked tickets and hotels and scheduled all of our other wedding appointments around since we were flying in from California- zero attempts to reschedule, zero apologies, zero engagement photos for the wedding. I mean there was no lack of trying to blame everything on us- we are across the country! Every single shot her second shooter took had to be tossed. They were so embarrassing and beyond amateur. You will see her best work on her site so I will add some of the ones she doesn't show you later on if I can bring myself to. The few pictures we got from Lacey that we liked were great! But there was so many mis-steps, the worst communication and just a terrible overall experience.
