I've been dealing with a lot of excruciating pain since after my surgery (non neck and non-spine…read morerelated). Sleeping on the recliner (post-surgery) for a month triggered an entire other problem: a bunch of unbelievable excruciating cervical neck pain, preventing me from sleeping throughout the night for about 5 days now. I was in tears every night when it was time to sleep and I almost called the ER 2 of those 5 nights and it became clear that I needed an MRI, it was so bad. I was very scared, as well as skeptical because I had never tried acupuncture before, but I decided to see  Dr. Anca for a treatment. It lasted for 30-45 minutes and I began to feel my body shift. For hours afterward, my spine continued to shift, crackle, pop, and my shoulders released. That same night, I was able to sleep like a baby. I was able to sleep on both sides of my neck (which is new) and the ability to switch over to the other side allowed me to sleep all night long. Also, I only woke up to use the restroom one time instead of 3-4 times lol. I am still in disbelief at how much this has changed my life, putting me back on track to normalcy. In desperation (it was excruciating to sit on the toilet or get into a car when a spasm was happening), I posted on my social media asking if anyone local had any suggestions of doctors to see in the area for acute back pain. Many doctors were suggested and I went to one and he prescribed LOADS of meds. They didn't help. ONE person suggested Mario at Six Degrees of Wellness. I was in such pain and booked an appointment. The spasms would hit me like a contraction and stop me in my tracks, make me sweat. I could BARELY get on the massage table. The place was so soothing and Mario helped me get on the table. I was expecting him to go to work on my lower back where it hurt. He started at my feet, head, and neck. by the time he got to my lower back, the rest of my body had been ABLE to relax enough that I was able to flip over on my own and he could work his magic on my back. This isn't your typical "massage." This is more like getting your whole body to be less inflamed (a reaction by the body to pain) so that they CAN make progress in the specific area. Sometimes it hurts a little but I wouldn't even call it pain, it's pressure that makes your body pay attention to the tension then allows it to RELAX. He used this cool scraper tool and some suction cups that were INTENSLY pain relieving. When he was done, I had gone from a literal 10+ pain to a 1 and was able to get off the table and dressed by myself, no problem. By the following morning, I was at a zero. Zero pain and NO MEDS. It was MONTHS before I had another attack in a different part of my back (upper ribs that time) and they helped again. They also helped my son who fractured his foot last year and had ongoing pain a year later. When he was finished, my son actually walked differently and held himself "straighter" b/c he no longer was avoiding pressure on that foot. GO.
