This device is the worst interlock you could put in your vehicle avoid at all cost if you value your sanity. And customer service? Good luck getting through to a human being. If you blow into it normal it says not hard enough, blow hard and it tells you you're blowing too hard. Absolutely piece if shit. read more

Intoxalock fails frequently, especially in cold weather. It requires exactly 12VDC to function. If your battery goes below 12v due to prolonged storage or cold weather, it will false. You will be stranded. In my state, (one of 2 out of 50) you may not take it inside to keep it warm. It hogs a lot of current when the vehicle is stopped and this will eventually draw down the battery even in warm weather. Getting someone in person on the phone is a complicated task and takes quite a bit of time and of course, when you do, they kick your call up a few levels while you wait. Failing is a frequent occurrence. I keep a log should a future legal issue arise. KEEP NOTES. There are also instances recorded where crashes and injuries have resulted from using these IID devices. I also find it intrusive that some of them record your whereabouts, and photograph you and your interior. There should be a website where complaints may be filed and records of failures, damages etc may be archived. We have no voice and the government doesn't care. These people have tyrannical control over your life and make big bux in the process. read more

Intoxalock is a horrible company with even worse customer service agents. I don't have any experience with any other ignition interlock companies but I've been hung up on 4 times trying to figure out wrongful violations on my device that cost you $70. I am currently fighting one that went off for a test well after my car was off and I was in work. A DUI is never worth it and Intoxalock is the epitome as to why. The customer service reps don't have to give their last names, their first name's probably not real anyways either but in order to relay your mistreatment when you get a hold of a supervisor, makes it difficult and that's if you keep putting up with getting hung up on in the process of trying to get to a higher up. It has sent me into violations from my battery dying, with no fault to me because the unit also continually drains your battery which they don't tell you and it's not in the manual they give. There is a sleep mode no representative will tell you about either which is pressing it in for 3 beeps. Also, check with Penndot before getting this unit in your car to make sure the paperwork went through properly because at the time you think your year is ending, Penndot might not have processed your paperwork to have it in thus making you lease it for even longer. This is a nightmare, money hungry company. read more

I cannot stand this company. The customer service has been ridiculous literally EVERY phone call. I've had them tell me numerous times "no problem, I'll take care of that for you" just to find out NOTHING happened. My key got stuck in the tumbler, so low and behold, I had to drill it out, and this process, along with the transmission, and battery itself all going at the same time was horrible enough financially, but every single time the battery would go too low (as it was slowly dying on me), the unit would reset making and require a $75 lockout fee. I dint have a maintenance report scheduled cause I didn't know this would happen, and so they denied my appeal. When it was all said and done this happened 3 more times on top of the 46.00 twice a month, and recalibration fees. They have NO CLUE I don't think of all the possibilities that a person can run into, so they come off as a money hungry company who takes advantage of those of us who have NO CHOICE but to pay them in order to keep a license, and work our asses off trying to do the right thing. They won't give you the opportunity to plead your case, and could CARE LESS ABOUT HELPING A PERSON GET THEIR LIFE BACK ON TRACK. read more

If i could give a negative 10!!!!!! I would . Worst device and TERRIBLE customer service. I was told i had no time limit to pay off my balance for canceling-which was because the device asked me to retest when not even in or around my shut off vehicle. No wanted to help me when i called to discuss and dispute the charges . One lady even gave me so much attitude and said she would not help me and to just leave a message for the claim department. So UNPROFESSIONAL. They purposely tamper with their machines I'm sure of it. The shop i got it installed at even said these are a nightmare and didn't even charge me to take it out. read more

Scam company, Tried to get it taken off because I did not have to have it on anymore and they charged me $151 early removal. Also charged 89.00 for a lock out because the breathalyzer asked for a test after the car was turned off and I did not hear it was a different beep. read more

This place is a fuckin scam along with Car Toys. Do NOT go with this joke of a company. They will take your money and if the system is faulty, you will be fucked. They will tell you the part will be shipped over night, you end up callin car toys to see the status and even after 3 days the car will still be on a stand still causing you to fuck up your work schedule and whatever you have to do on your daily life. When you ask Car Toys when will it be done, they will hit you with the IDK that has nothing to do with us like the fucked up situation is supposed to be your fuckin problem when partially it is their problem for being the 3rd party. I wish I could give zero stars. From the very start they were shifty and shady hiding behind manipulated rules and phone trees that made it almost impossible to get a human on the phone. All the way til the end these people were terrible. The last amount I was told I would have to pay was even quoted incorrectly. If you have a choice of another company to go with, I would say ANY other would be better. Almost every person I had to deal with was inept in one way or another and on top of it just RUDE. The only redeeming thing was at the end after I decided to cancel and pay to have it removed early as I had been without a car for 6 days waiting for a new handset to arrive. Which I get was out of there control, but why replacements aren't kept in the store for this type of thing is beyond me. They did give me a goodwill credit, but as I said before the final payment quoted still didn't match what I ended up paying. Just use another company such a hassle to deal with these people. I also have multiple recordings of the thing malfunctioning. read more

I have read all of these reviews. For the one that said "I've never had a bad experience" must be an employee or a lucky one. All the 1 star reviews are correct. They transfer you around, extremely rude, and hang up on you. We understand our choices comes with consequences, customer service is still customer service and you're there to help. The guy who I enrolled with, Joshua Costly, is ridiculous. He told me that it was "the law" and I HAD to get the breathalyzer or I would go back to jail again BUT that was false. I had a choice, the judge told me. With that said, I can only imagine who else he manipulated to sign up for this mess. My device is always going off saying I missed a test when I didn't! Also, once you get this installed they give you a certificate. Mine happened to not have my license plate number on it and DMV refused to take it and intoxalock refuses to send me a new one with my license plate on it. I am now being charged for extra time on this device when I was supposed to have it removed October 2nd. Either use a different company OR just do a restricted license. You won't regret it the restricted license at all! read more

I wouldn't trust this with my life. I'd rather the government chop off a finger than have me install this. Company uses call centers over seas. They read off a paper for troubleshooting. The device randomly dies making you tow you vehicle to the nearest service center. They don't pay for any of that. What they do is charge you 75 dollars for each malfunction that's happens. They reuse all there devices. so you could be getting someone else's device that they threw around and didn't take care of. Iv seen how they run things. They are penny pinchers. I bet the CEO Kimberly has more than three houses and a Tesla. Let's just say if we made these corporate big wigs install one in there vehicles they would end up failing the test or flake out on the six months because the device stop working randomly. I'm not the best human because I got caught drinking and driving but I know when somthing is inhuman. This device can ruin people's life's. Causing them to go homelessness. I started with them beginning of February.. First car it got installed on was my 2006 Acura TL, my starter started getting messed up. Hard for me to start my car. I thought I was just because my car was old. In March I bought a brand new 2019 Honda Pilot, did a vehicle switch with the interlock device. It started doing the same thing with my car, hard to start. That's when I realized it's the interlock. Now it's beginning of May and it's getting worse, harder and longer to start the car so I canceled it and the whole removal fee was $192.86 if I wanted it done within this month. Better than ruining my new car and having to pay more in the future. DO NOT GO WITH INTOXALOCK!!!! Not to mention, they said I was in a lock out one time and charged me for it thinking I wouldn't know, I called them and I didn't get a refund.. They credited me instead. Smfh! I would give them zero stars if I could!!! What a waste of my money all this time. read more

A nightmare. Be prepared to wait an hour and a half on hold, random lockouts/lockout fees, screwed my cars electrical system, and they left fields blank on my paperwork so the dmv won't even accept it meaning I can't get my license even after paying all these fees. read more

I went with this company because I thought they were the only one in town. Wrong! There are other way better companies I found here after the fact. This company has a complicated interlock device that is very hard to use. You have to blow out three beeps, suck in for two, and blow out for three again. If you don't do it exactly right you have to start over. Rarely did we get it to work before 10 tries. Then they charge highly for every missed blow. Other companies don't. Then if you want to change out the ignition device and go with another company, they charge an early termination fee. I think now that the way they make their money is to have a device that drives you mad and then if you want it removed they charge an exorbitant early termination fee. Worst company ever. read more

I set this acct up for my son. A one time fee was paid. Now 2 months later they charge my card $172 for services that I DID NOT authorize, then they refuse to tell me what its for. This is actually WIRE FRAUD. Do not use this company. read more

Just had Intoxalock Installed, seen a lot of bad reviews on here but I've checked other companies and it's kinda the same gist. I'm sure there will be problems down the road with it but that's just something my future self will have to deal with. My concern right now and it's a fairly reasonable one, I call from my phone. The same phone number that I had signed up with and when it asks me to press 1 for english or 2 for spanish I press 1... Nothing, then the call fails. I try again and again nothing, even try 2 for spanish. Still nothing. I call literally 5 other people in my phone and everything is fine as usual so it's not my phone service. I use my work telephone and of course it goes through just fine. I ask why is that and can't get a straight answer. I haven't even had a legitimate issue yet but I would like to know if I get locked out or have to do maintence or if my battery drains and dies which I heard is also an issue I can reach someone so I'm not stranded somewhere and I can't even do that. There are probably a plethora of things to complain about having one of these devices installed in your car but I would think they wouldn't block your number once they collected your first premium and have you sign a lease. Would really appreciate being able to call customer service read more

I would give a zero stars if I could. Don't eff yourself by giving these people your business. They couldn't send me my DL 920 when they were suppose to, the representatives mis inform you and will lie just to get a contract with you. I have been paying the lease and calibration for this pos for over 7 months for nothing! I'm only required the device for 5 months. Take your money to a company that knows their line of work and will appreciate your business. These people are a nightmare. read more

Called on a Friday and got an appointment for Saturday in another town since they have the unit. We showed up at their sacramento location at 10 am which is our appointment time and door was locked. We called several times and stay outside for 20 to 30 minutes. Finally I called intoxalock agent line and she tried to contact them as well with no success. I asked for the refund of $74 dollar since I did not get service done by them. The next day I got a text saying that the unit is shipped to the sacramento location ??? I'm like well that's extremely stupid since my appointment was on Saturday and they were suppose to have the unit already. Then over the next several days I received calls from them saying that I was suppose to go in those days for the service which I have already cancelled on Saturday. I called back and told them the situation and the lady informed me that they would remove me off their call list. I still get text from them. And then last night after 3 weeks from when I cancelled I received an invoice for the return of the unit. I called and explained to another female agent who told me my account has been closed and there is no charge so I just disregard the invoice and shredded it. This is a horrible business. if I could give zero stars I would. Intoxalock is an outdated company, with outdated software in their devices, that are made to drain your battery if you decide to be safe and not drive. I don't want to get into the whole story, but I didn't drive my car for 2 months, and when I HAD to go get the thing recalibrated, my car was dead BECAUSE OF THE INTOXALOCK. Not one person warned me that this could happen... so I lost 6 hours of work on 2 days in a row, during a period where I really needed to prove myself at work because I was up for a raise. But I was just doing what I "had to" if I wanted to keep this thing in my car. Luckily I never dropped my insurance and had road side assistance to jump my car. When it finally started, the device started up (interlock from intoxalock,) only to not work properly and malfunction. It kept saying, "blow harder," when I had done the initial blow, then take a breath and do a second one, but the timer never stopped, I was blowing as hard as I could for over 20 seconds and it never stopped telling me to blow. It kept resetting and telling me to try again, then it locked out. so I got a 2nd road side assistance to come tow my car to the service center that I had it installed. they recalibrated it, and told me I was good to go. I was at first, I started my car with the battery now charged fully, blew into the device, it registered, and I took off. 15 min later, it asks me to blow again like normal..... but it does what it did when I first tried and had to get my car jumped like 3-4 hours prior. Not knowing I could drive to my final destination before a lock out, because again, I wasn't informed anything about how this works by anyone associated to the intoxalock device...... when I saw a 4 min countdown as it was malfunctioning, I thought I had to pull over and park immediately. The only place I could park was on the street across from Warner Bro Studios, and I would have to come back before 7am to get it towed back to the service center. The intoxalock customer service was insufferable, they transfered me to like 5 people, and I had to give them all of my detailed information EVERY TIME. CAN'T THIS COMPANY KEEP A DIGITAL RECORD THAT IS SEEN BY ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS THAT GET TRANSFERRED A CUSTOMER CASE OR ISSUE??? MY GOD IT WAS LIKE HELL ON EARTH. then, when I finally made it through (this is at 6am, and I'm waiting for a tow truck the next day) they tell me that if I get the device "inspected" and the device doesn't work, I won't have to pay for the 2 lock outs or the inspection.... but if the device DOES work, I will have to pay for everything. that "everything," was the cost as the inspection, and the lock outs together. which was about the same cost to just remove the device out of my car. why on earth would I get the device "inspected" by the dude who just "recalibrated" it and told me I was good to go???? he would have just reset it, and told me it was working fine... just like he did an hour prior to my freak out, pull over, go home, have to come back the next day at 6 am, and then miss another 3 hours of work and have to pay for everything. So I told them to get the device out of my car, and to never contact me again. I lost over $800 in 3 months because of this bullshit company. I was in compliance and was doing everything right on my end. They are terrible at informing you of how to properly handle their outdated, archaic devices that are not safe, and are a hazard to your vehicle and safety. read more

If I could give these people zero stars I would!!! Getting a dui is the most TRAUMATIC thing I've ever been through! I have been FIGHTING for my life back desperately trying to get my license back so it doesn't interfere with my job so that I can still provide for my son even before my court date! First the machine locked me put because I was never shown how to use this device nor have I ever had to use one before, secondly they charged me for over night shipping that NEVER HAPPENED!! but was i reimbursed for it? HELL NO instead they send me a form that didn't have all the correct information on it not only that but the body shop ot was installed at he scribbled on it so the dmv couldn't accept it, I called them to send a new form, still couldn't be accepted because again they didn't have the correct information on the form and listed that I supposedly had no plates!!! How tf do you know if I have plates on my brand new car or not if you don't even bother to ask for that!!! Btw I do and always had plates on my car the whole time! Now I have to go back to the dmv once again in the mix of taking my classes, going to work, and taking care of my 3 year old son! This is ridiculous you guys literally have ONE JOB if I ever messed up this much at any of my jobs I would be JOBLESS. Get it together people!!!!! You are jeopardizing people's lives and careers!!! Its really not that hard!!!!! 3 third time is a charm I guess we will see how this form turns out. If I could give zero stars I would. I've been sitting at the auto body shop for 2 hours waiting for the ignition interlock to be installed, come to find out the device they sent doesn't even work. They have to send it back and order a new one, which means I'll be doing another 2 hour round trip tomorrow. They're supposed ti test the equipment before it's sent out, the mechanic said this is the type of bs that happens all the time with intoxalock. This company is unreliable and bunk. read more

Intoxalock shows all great reviews while other unaffiliated sites paint a much grimmer picture of Intoxalock. This is no surprise given the shady business practices of Intoxalock. STAY AWAY They are Crooks! I'd give Intoxalock a Zero rating if it was an option. If you have the luxury of having a choice of interlock providers where you live, DO NOT use Intoxalock!! I'll tell you what I found good about Intoxalock. Gage, the sales guy, that sold me the service with Intoxalock was very helpful and friendly. He made getting the ball rolling painlessly. That is where the joy ended, and the nightmare began. Now the reasons not to use Intoxalock! The device is huge. Others have better devices that will not cause you more grief than you are already going through. Unless you have a very large console in your vehicle there is no concealing it. The device looks and operates like they got the parts from Radio Shack and built it in their garage. The operation of the Intoxalock interlock device is very erratic. Sometimes it will sample and give you a green light in seconds other times it takes as much as 45 seconds before you can start your car. The mouthpiece often pops off and goes bouncing around and under the seat. This makes for a very dangerous situation if you are doing a rolling retest. Good luck training yourself the proper way to blow into the device (how hard and for how long). A good 30% of the time it will error saying that you are not blowing hard enough or blowing to hard. It will then display "try again" 6 times for about 15 seconds. Sometimes you need to blow so hard that you get lightheaded. If you get a sick while having the device on your Vehicle. Be prepared to be sick the entire time. The chamber that you blow through is so long that it will harbor the pathogens and you will re-infect yourself. If you live in a cold climate, the device will freeze solid preventing you from blowing through the device. It took 45 min. for Tech support to answer. Their less than brilliant solutions are laughable. Their advice was to make sure the device is stored vertically to prevent moisture from pooling in the device and freezing. This seemed logical to me until I realized that the design of the device prevents you from doing so. Then they recommended that I store the device in an oven mit. At 10 below zero this is useless! The interlock device would randomly show a "weather" delay and start a 2 to 3 min warming up timer. At temperatures below zero there was no warm-up timer. 38 degrees it would delay with a warm-up timer. It was a crap shoot if this would or would not happen. The cable connecting the device to your car is short. Causing you to lean down when blowing. Again, this creates a very dangerous situation when doing a rolling retest. Intoxalock will do the good ole Bait and Switch on you. Lure you in with rebates and then once they got you held hostage Intoxalock will get you in the end. Intoxalock does not prorate monthly leases. Meaning if you have the device installed on your vehicle for 1 min more than your lease, you pay for another entire month. Example: If you are required to have the device on your vehicle for 6 months, you will be required to pay 7 months lease. This is because you cannot have the device removed until the State allows it. States count the Days the device is installed, and Intoxalock lease is monthly. Doesn't matter how many days are in that month. It is impossible to have the device removed before Intoxalock charges you another month lease. Interlock will also short you days on your last state required calibration. This will force you to pay for and take the time to do an unnecessary re-calibration. If you request to have all the data that they downloaded from your device for your records. It will force you to pay an extra $25.00 due to the unrequited calibration download. STAY AWAY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE read more

If I could give a -10 I would. I think that they purposely mess around with the device because there's no way in hell that this is happening. You never get the same info with their representative. My device have gone into lockout mode 3 times now.( violation 3) Not alcohol related. I've had the device since august and didn't have any technical issues for the first two months and then within a week, it goes into their lockout, twice. Supposedly for failing a "rolling retest" two of those times, I was not even in the vehicle and it was turned off. Wtf is the vehicle asking for a breath sample when I'm not in the vehicle. Today, it did it again, I called to see why, no one is able to tell me. All the while, they're sending their violation letters to the state of Florida and then comes back and say that there's NOTHING that they can do. When you try to call them to speak with someone, you're placed on hold for over an hour. Why tf would I want to pay 100+ dollars for a device that does NOT work. I've never been more stressed and irritated than now. In top of the broken promises, failure to disclose fees, lack of professionalism, being hung up on. Why tf is this company still in business. If you'd like to keep your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more

Customer service involves unusually long wait times. After my contract ended and device removed I was hit with an unexpected bill of $67.00 that no one at Intoxilock could show me on the contract... even though I asked repeatable to be shown. Intoxilock added insurance to my bi-weekly charges that I had not been aware of... and had not agreed to. After paying the malicious charge of $67.00 I was continually sent letters of harrassment from these people wanting paid again!!! Take my personal opinion and go with another company that aren't so soley based on making $$$$$ off of people. These are hard times for many people... Intoxilock doesn't care in my opinion... they're soley out to make a dollar. Neither myself or any of my acquaintances will ever use these people again. I'd appreciate you people destroying my personal information too... such as SS# etc etc. What is the reason for retaining my personal information? You'll never use it again... I can guarantee that! I would rate ZERO stars if i could! I had an Intoxalock installed for a year. The ONLY positive is that they have service centers all over the place. Everything else about them is HORRIBLE! Customer service?...Good luck! For the sale, they will chase you down and be attentive to you UNTIL you sign up. Then its bye bye customer service. If you can get someone, their mostly overseas customer reps, thay have little knowledge of the issue. Hidden fees?...Absolutely! They charged me SHIPPING COSTS for self removal of the device (I'm an electronic tech, but it's not rocket science), because I guess they couldn't profit off of the service center charge! AND they had all types of small admin fees! WTF!! They lie about waiving calibration date violations due to Acts of God like BLIZZARDS, so that they can get a lease extention on you. VERY disingenuous and unscrupulous company. And the most important fact...you have to blow, suck, blow on their machine RIDICULOUSLY hard to submit a breath sample!!! I mean RIDICULOUSLY!! I felt light headed the first few times I did it!!! Other companies you just have to blow. And they find a way to charge you for everything!! They are grifters praying on our misery and misfortune. Do you know how many times I almost had an accident on a rolling retest having to blow, suck, blow while on a turn, on the highway, at high speeds, on a turn, bridge, tunnel, rain, snow, dark of night, etc??? These rolling retests create an unsafe distracted driver situation in general, but THIS device??? MONUMENTALLY hazardous!!!! Avoid these people at all costs! Dont use this company! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. My sales rep was great, until i signed a lease. Once you sign a lease forget about it. I emailed for a month n half concerning questions/problems with my machine, no response. The machine itself, which is supposed to be their best one, OMG. First, you have to blow for like 5 seconds then inhale then blow again. Fine if it takes ur sample. I sat in my driveway for 20 min, counted how many times i had to blow- 26 freakin times b4 it accepted a sample so i could start my car. So i call, im told someone will call me back. NOTHING. So im done at this point, literally half of my driving time anywhere is blowing into a machine. So i call to set up an appt to have it removed so i can use a diff company, this lady starts telling me how i have not tried to call to get it resolved so they gonna charge me all these fees. Still, not once, did she say she can have it corrected. She (Jenny) just went on w smart a** comments, tellin me how it was MY fault, how my rep has nothin to do w it, n how they were gonna get their fees. Seriously? Im going to lose my 2 mos time i already have in on the 12 mos i have to have the machine but I'd rather have to start the 12 mos over than have to deal w this company 1 more day. read more

Worst company! Having to have one of these devices is bad enough as it is, but, this company has AWFUL customer service, and they'll make money off of you any way possible. Reporting vehicle maintenance? Well, the ONLY purpose is, to avoid their $75 reset fee, which, you still have to pay a fee ANYWAY to have your service Center reset that device. So, dont bother getting work done on your vehicle if you're looking to avoid paying this company anymore than you already do! It's a total racket. The camera randomly stops working to, so, there's ANOTHER fee that you'll have to pay for THEIR faulty equipment! read more

Think long and hard before you volunteer to install this device. I made the mistake trying to prevent my license from being suspended prior to the DMV hearing. The closest installer to me was 80 miles away to start. I say okay its better than losing my license for the mandatory time for a 1st dui. I was told on the phone the install was like 15 minutes. It turned out to be 2 hours 15 minutes. I was also told that California residents had a free install. I guess free means 100 bucks. I was also told that I wouldnt need to take this in for calibration for at least 2 months. Today on my way to the store it says lockout and I have 4 days to take it in for service. Its been less than a month! What is that, my battery was never low, I never blew into the thing with any trace of alcohol. I called them up and tell them there is a service center 5 miles away across the state line and I need it fixed. I explained my situation. I guess that doesnt fly. Since I cant turn my paperwork into the DMV and retain my license due to it being closed Since Im only given 4 days until lockout and my license is suspended tomorrow I will be forced to tow my vehicle 160 miles round trip, crazy! Im forced to uninstall this myself and mail this piece of junk back to them. Of course they say if its uninstalled improperly I could be charged which is in the thousands! Its a few wires spliced into your ignition wires under the dash, but of course they will say you damaged it. On top of that you will be charged an early termination fee. Long story short, a 4 or 6 month DMV suspension is way better than dealing with this, for me anyway. read more

Night Customer service is horrible. These are CSR that should be trained to be more patient, sensitive and kind dealing with customers that are forced by DMV to enlist their company as a requirement. I called and informed them that this was our first and don't understand the program apologizing in advance and yet they were short, curt and abrupt on the phones. It seemed like I was bothering them. go anywhere else for an interlock device!!! this is the worst company i have had to deal with. especially because i am required by law to have this device. i could not get the reports i requested and my judge wanted to put me in jail. every time i called it took 20 min or more to get a live person and then you get put on hold for anotherr 20-40. waiting for a supervisor is ridiculous. they do not take your concerns seriously which is not ok. this is a state licensed agency that deals with the court sytems. they should have to have some type of requirement or regulation to provide the information we need. they just want to charge 50 per report. i had my car being serviced and it got put into lock out twice. i was charged over 200 for this when i had reported it being in service. i get either hung up on or put on hold every time. yes i call frustrated but it is because not one call has ever went smoothly with them. the device causes damage to the vehicle also. i have went through 2 batteries. read more

No stars for this crap, scam company!!!! They are nothing but liars first of all, I was told one thing and then another. I was supposed to pay $30 to start and $78.90 a month each month after. LMAO no they don't tell you all the charges, I ended up with a bill for the $30 plus $29.98, and so many other charges, it was like $350, I eventually got them waived, also they charged me for install which is fine, they were supposed to send me a mail in rebate for it tho, and it would be deducted off my monthly payments, install was $115 , I would have gotten a month free and a little off next month, Never happened, I asked 4 times for it and here we are still no rebate. Its been 8 months btw. They lie, so much. My device was faulty, left me and my 2 little girls stranded. They did not care. I had to wait 5 hrs in the 90 degree weather until someone could help us. They were supposed to over night the part that went out and 4 days later it came. Service ctr was closed on the wknd, so I not only missed 4 days of work, I was carless for 6 days and not to mention, it was my childs 6th bday that wknd. I couldn't go no where for her. Im so angry. one star is going too far.... in the last year I have had 9 unit replacements, 3 batteries, 2 alternators and 2 voltage regulators. their customer service makes it very clear that you are not the customer, but rather the state is. due to the wildfires in september, our service centers where closed... making me late on a calibration (that was actually a unit replacement). saying intoxalock was unhelpful in sorting this out would be an understatement. I've sent all necessary documents to them multiple times along with time stamped photos of me and the car in front of the service center trying to get my calibration.... the result is that I was out of "compliance" and they refuse to correct their records. this means I now have this horrible device in my car for 3 months longer than i should. it's a money scheme.... they want this thing attached to my car for as long as they can.. its deemed my car basically inoperable over the last year, as it's a far cry from reliable transportation. go anywhere... I am aware, that I messed up first and foremost by getting into trouble by driving under the influence in the first place. Nothing good can come from this. For the sake of this review however I'd rather discuss the many downsides of this company of scammers. One of those unfortunate events you'll find yourself coming across is the interlock system installed in your vehicle. When this occurs... DO NOT use Intoxalock for your service provider. I can not stress enough baffled I am as to how this company of liars and theives can operate a business equivalent to calling a bank robber a good branch of banking service. I'd rate them in the negative numbers if I could! Let's get started: Upon agreeing with the terms of service associated with intoxalock, you will be given a brick sized device that you have to pay for to get installed as well as recalibrated in what they tell you is monthly. Instead of monthly the screen on the device will read violation and give you a lockdown every two weeks. This is of course when you didn't violate anything other than having a faulty device. If you do not drive your vehicle to place that installed the device to have the lockdown warning removed, your vehicle WILL NOT START! They give you an app which they'll tell you to install in order to "avoid lockouts" which is completely useless but you can call them right? After waiting on the phone, for an hour on a good day if you choose to call them and from what I've read from other reviews and YouTube complaints, additional fees added to your account by just calling. So, here's where the scam starts: The first calls will have you on the phone with a clear spoken person. They'll tell you they will look into the problem and then "beat around the bush" leaving you no choice but to pay for an extra calibration every month. The lockout fee set was at 75 dollars which they doubled and tripled costing around 225 everytime. You remember me telling you how it cost money to have the device simply in your car? Expect that to be added two and three times added to your credit card bill as well. If you have this device in your car for a year, you could be spending close to 3000 dollars in additional fees. "Run wire" is a reading that comes up often on the handheld device. If you ask your service station about this, they'll tell you Intoxalock is in the wrong, if you ask Intoxalock, the service station is the one who is incorrect. The most likely answer is that they're both in on the scam because you'll be given an additional fee at the service station anyway. If you are confused yet by the amount of money you have already spent, you shouldn't be as you are reading this correctly. Anyway, back to the phone calls. I forgot to mention the lack of communication they will have with the court system. So if you are on probation, need to contact or look at your status provided by the DMV, DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as this company fails to provide this information to them! After they overcharge you constantly, then the service provider bills you too. Once they have you on the additional payments, expect the caller on the other line (English is my first language) to be a caller from outside of the United States. Other reviews I've read on people who have Spanish as their first language have similar complaints. In addition you will again be put on a "wild goose chase" in order to provide information they pretend to care about, only to take more of your money. One of the times I called, a guy on the other line was playing with his dog, borderline, ignoring what I was saying. Additional complaints that are frequently addressed that I myself didn't encounter but am in way surprised of include: 1. The device draining the battery of the vehicle 2. The newer cars unable to use the ignition because of the device. I was however told, I needed a new starter in my car when the frequent problem was either the wire, the device or a combination of both. 3. Falsifying car breakdowns. It should be noted however, that you must call your interlock service provider in case of breakdown and vehicle maintenance. It would also be nice if that information was given to you. 4. False samples (this one I see as a bit more understandable (mouthwash, certain foods etc.) But a false sample by a defective device seems to be moreso the common complaint. To end this long review not only should Intoxalock receive a lawsuit against them for the scam that they are, it should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. For quality of service, just take a look at their ratings. read more

Sooo, in this latest episode of "how can intoxalock make your day worse!" I shut my car off and went into a store to pick up a few things. Never once heard the device make a noise. Was in the store for a half hour and came back out to find that my device was in a lockout. I call the company, they say I'm in a lockout due to not blowing for the retest. Funny, my vehicle was turned off and I was inside the store when they say the retest went off. Even have pics from inside the store at the same time it was supposedly going off about a retest. I call the company, they say I had to have left my car running when it went off for a retest. Guess they don't realize that gas is too expensive right now to leave the car running. Now, I have had that device for over 2.5 years now and have never had a lockout for failing to retest or having alcohol in my system, I think I know how it works. Now I'm all the sudden being told that I have to wait for 2-3 minutes after shutting off my vehicle. I have never once been told that in the entire time I have had this garbage in my vehicle. Oh, I called a day later and the next agent I spoke with said that she was going to do an investigation and get back to me within 24 hours. That was Monday, 2 days ago. Btw, I have a camera in my vehicle and the lady told me that she could check the video to see if I had shut off and exited the vehicle before the restest went off. Plus, looking at the bill, it's not a $75 fee, it's an $80 fee. Think I'm gonna have to my lawyer in on this one. Intoxalock, ya'll have gotten enough of my damn money and if there was another company within 50 miles, I would drop your sorry company. Thank God I should only have a couple of months left with this crap! read more

. Overall this experience with Intoxalock has been AWFUL! -10/10 I DO NOT recommend this company. It's extremely difficult to get a hold of an actual person. They want you to use the app they provide WHICH doesn't even allow you to request a work order for calibrations through it. You have to go to the actual site and request them. I live an hour away from where I work so to have my vehicle good to go is an NEED. Friday my box just decided to crap the bed & need to be replaced. Intoxalock said bc it wasn't my fault they'd pay for the tow to the shop & back to wherever I needed it. I had to call their roadside assistance & roadside proceeded to tell me it only covers 15 miles so I had to pay the extra 17 miles each way. They tow it to the service center which by the time it got there they were closed & didn't open again till Monday. I call Intoxalock back telling them this & they continue to tell me it will be done Saturday even though the SERVICE CENTER ISNT OPEN TILL MONDAY. So I call Saturday just to check & NO ONE IS THERE, shocker. Monday I call the garage (meanwhile again I live an hour away from work & work Friday - Wednesday) they never received the part & don't have backups. So here I am Tuesday still waiting on a new box & customer service won't transfer me to a supervisor when I've asked SEVERAL times. After being on hold for 36 minutes waiting for a supervisor to talk to because I've been crashing on coworkers couches or UBERING an hour and back to work. THIS IS OUT OF HAND to say the least. They refuse to give me ANY paperwork on this situation showing what is going on so I can provide it to the courts. Save yourself more trouble & DO NOT use this company read more

They just charged me when I did not owe them any money. They just locked out my car for the third time claiming that I did not blow in time. The device says you have 4 minutes to blow and every 30 seconds it's beeping and saying that I did not blow in time. I was supposed to get it out March of 2020 and here we are February 2021. They called me and asked me if my car was my daily driver I answered yes and they said my machine is broke and they will fix it for free. Mean while they claim during the time it was broken I blew a .04 and they locked out my car. They just charged me $144.00 after I just paid them 630.00. I go to my car this morning to take my son to the dentist my car is locked out again. I call to ask why and they say I did not blow during a re-test. That's absolutely not true as I am extremely cautious sine the whole "machine is broken" incident and really really tired of them manipulating my machine. There is no way i missed a re-take the machine screams at me every time I don't blow hard enough and scream louder when If I miss a blow. This is complete insanity and beyond absurd. Now I have to pay for another tow truck to come out and take my car to get re-calibrated for the third time and pay them again on my dime. This is insanity and I need to find someone to help me because customer service is so rude and refuses to listen to the customer. At this point I think I may need a lawyer idk what else to do. If you like being financially raped then threatened with jail, Intoxilock is for you. The company needs to be shut down for fraud with a class action lawsuit and it is run by a bunch of crooks. The handheld is absolute garbage and goes off every 5 to 8 minutes screaming at you for another sample. It will shut down your engine without warning, with the alarm going off without a violation...it's really dangerous. When you call, they send you to Mumbai to a group of call center who are all con artists who don't speak English. I have had to buy a new battery, pay for false lockouts, and for service when it goes on the fritz through no fault of my own. They take no responsibility for their faulty product that is just as dangerous as drinking or texting while driving. They know damn well that they are the absolute worst company on earth and are proud of it. I have seriously have had thought of suicide so many times since this thing was installed. If you try and talk to someone in the courts about the criminal extortion they rely on for their shareholders] you are laughed at. There customer service is terrible. They just hang up on You. There equipment is old and runs your car. The tops falls off the machine and rolls under seats in the middle of machine going off. Truly extremely unsafe i Have almost got into so many accidents. They automatically charge you a 5.95 monthly protection plan fee. I have never signed anything to do with this. They refuse to refund me or take it off my plan. Complete crooks and the states should not allow how crooked they are. I had a Intoxalock representative talking to a DMV State person asking for something they needed and they were talking to them after the DMV State person and waited to get throw to a person took 30 mins and they were talking to him and I and since they didn't understand the sheet he was asking for they decided to hang up on them. They always hang up they don't understand English. The first person that sells you on this Intoxalock is from the US. After that good luck. I am uninstalling this device and going with another compan. DO NOT USE THIS fraudulent Company truly are Crooks. The states Minnesota and Wisconsin will here about this. I did my time. (5months), in regards to the device, the only complaint I have was draining my battery a couple of unexplained random times. Other than that, yes it was an inconvenience, but you get used of it. I drank and drove, and accept this "inconvenience" as It's better than killing someone. But with intoxalock, I feel extorted and now a hostage! First had to pay an extra month because they started billing me the day I gave them my information to get started, and yet to even have the device installed as my old car wasn't ready yet. Now I can't get a response on app or a live person, as I'm trying to get my device removed since my court order time has been up since a month ago. Nobody live is available except for the salesperson when you first sign up. The app is helpful, especially for taking your payment and scaring you with random warning signs now and then, reminding you a collaboration is due. But I have clicked on "DEVICES REMOVAL" for 5 weeks now and NOBODY has responded like their message says it will. The only notification I receive is my lease is about to expire again. I'm not paying or signing another lease until God or a lawyer appears and helps me get out of this kidnapping. read more

Horrible. Has a "rolling Lockout" was doing some monthly maitainance on my car. Checking fluids battery, etc... missed the time frame while checking the transmission fluid (car has to be running) was frantically blowing in the device would not take the "blow" time ran out and the lockout occurred. the device immediatly reset and within seconds i blew in it again and passed the test. tried to get them to reset without the fee...would not refund my $75. said i had already been given my " grace" reset (one that would be free), this one was due to my battery going dead....older vehicle (2007, no automatic turn off light device, left the lights on). I surely hope these people never experience any car trouble (battery dead), checking fluids etc.. and have to pay $75 bucks.....whatever happened to common courtesy (empathy) to people when they have the ability to check the camera and see you trying to "blow" (with the exact time to the second) then can see you blowing in it seconds later (on the camera) with the time(just seconds later with a pass. $$$$$$$$$$$ all bout the MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$ these people are NOT HUMAN!!!!!! read more

"Nightmare Experience with Intoxalock: Overpriced and Unhelpful" I can't express how disappointed I am with Intoxalock's services. The exorbitant prices alone would make anyone reconsider, but the real horror lies in the abysmal customer service. Dealing with their automated answering service is a labyrinth, forcing customers to play a guessing game just to talk to someone. And when you finally do, they apologize profusely but offer no solutions. The random lockouts are infuriating, triggered by minor issues like a slightly moved camera. It's absurd that such trivial matters result in being stranded. What's worse is that their team, despite understanding the frustration, refuses to take any meaningful action. Requests for refunds or transfers to supervisors are met with a firm "no," leaving customers feeling trapped in a service that cares more about extracting money than providing a reliable and reasonable experience. Do NOT use these crooks! Owned and/or operated by lawyers who specialize in breaking up American companies for foreign profit! The former president, now an "outside consultant" still has valid ties to Chinese interests! Avoid these parasites at all costs. They have absolutely no values, morals, or ethics. They take money from accounts they have been expressly forbidden to touch and now my son can't use his bank account for fear they will steal his pay!!! They do not respond to emails. I sincerely wish I would have read these reviews before allowing them to install an IID in my mother's vehicle. The original service center who installed it totally botched the job. Shotty wiring held together loosely by tape. The faulty wiring killed the battery in a brand new vehicle. We're lucky it didn't start the car on fire. We had to pay $400 to the mechanics to fix the wiring. A new IID can't even be installed without a complete rewiring...that's how bad the installers messed it up. As everyone else says, it's a pain in the @$$ to get ahold of their customer service. Multiple calls lasting 45+ minutes. They just bounce you around until they eventually hang up. So frustrating! They will not reimburse for the damage caused during installation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!! read more

I had this company over 3 years ago and my car got locked out in the middle of my driveway because of a dead battery so I called them they said I was going to have to have my car towed to have it calibrated again this was not the first time I had problems with them had problems since day one with over billing and the equipment so that day I told them I want it out of my car so had to pay the company to come to my house and remove it costed me $375. These are the WORST PEOPLE to deal with!!!! The Customer service center reps are SO RUDE and talk down to you, like your a dirty criminal. They made me jump through so many hoops to even remove the Intoxalock from my car. I had it set up voluntarily, but they said I needed authorization from my probation officer, which I DON NOT HAVE. This morning I was trying to set up an appointment to get my interlock device off after 2 years, and I spoke with somebody on the phone around 8:30 AM, they said it was all taken care of... However it wasn't... I called back this afternoon, and a wonderful person by the name of Kenya Holloway answered, and from then on took care of everything I needed to accomplish. She was so nice, and did everything she needed to do to make my experience go perfectly. Zero stars. This company is here to steal your money. The intoxilock drains your battery. The device malfunctioned and left me stranded on Thanksgiving. I've already violated 3 times and all were bs. Don't eat pizza and drive. I got a violation 11 for no reason and talked to 4 different people and they didn't resolve it. They tried to say I started my car without blowing into my machine. That's impossible. Then they tried to say I stepped on my brake pedal. That's a violation? What's that have to do with drinking a driving? These people are crooks and you'll be stuck with these devices for life after they just keep finding ways to violate you. read more

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, At 1st it was fine, my truck just had a new engine installed and it died starting last week, so apparently in the middle of Corona virus, no work, no food, no money, they are charging me$75 for a "lock out" and another $35 to the shop recalibrating it. This is a HORRIBLE company, go with any ANY other breathalyzer company, just not this one. They will over charge all the time and you're forced to pay it.
