I'm using Intoxalock now. Right after I signed up I noticed all these negative yelp reviews and I was really worried. I started doing some research and here's what I've found along with my experience so far. First off keep in mind that most people leaving a review here just got a dui. That means they got their cars impounded, spent a night in jail, have to take alcohol classes and quite possibly community service too along with this breathalyzer. This is an all around negative situation because they got caught drinking and driving so of course everyone's gonna be pissed. No one's coming on here to leave a review about the positive experience they had following their dui lol. I'm not angry because I got my dui like 5 years ago and I'm barely taking care of this last part now. Another thing to note is that Intoxalock is one of the bigger companies that offers this service so you'll see mostly their reviews over other companies. And as mentioned above, they'll probably be all negative reviews because everyone is going through hell right now to get through this messed up situation. Installation was easy. You can go to a local store to get it done but I decided to go through their mobile installer to get it done quicker. He showed up on time, worked quick and got the job done. The installation certificate he gave me had my name misspelled so he advised to let him get me another one with the correct spelling to avoid an issue at the dmv. He did get it but it was difficult trying to get it from him because he works for three different companies and he's the only mobile installer so it makes sense he's always busy. I just had him mail it to me at the end. No sweat there. He did try to get it to me while working. Customer service has been cool. I've called multiple times and they've answered within minutes every time. After reading the negative comments about customer service I was a little rude to the rep (yes they're in India) but quickly realized that she was cool and was actually trying to help. You can imagine that they get pissed off people calling everyday so if you're being rude with them then they will get a little rude with you. Using The device does suck lol but we did get caught drinking and driving and this is the punishment. It's not supposed to be fun. People are saying it's not safe to use while driving... it's not that serious lol. Blowing into it can take a little getting used to but as long as you pay attention on how to use it then you will be fine. If you can't drive and blow into it at the same time then you just shouldn't be driving lol. You can't use hand sanitizer or mouth wash before using it and some other stuff. Familiarize yourself with how to use it and what will cause a violation. I just got one lockout and it cost $80 + $30 to the shop that fixed it. Definitely wont do that again. Billing is ehh. They charge you extra for the sleeve on the device lol. They do add roadside assistance on there without telling you but it's only like $4 so I didn't care. If you're crying over that then just skip out on your next alcoholic drink and save that money because you're broke and shouldn't be drinking lol. Besides all these programs are designed to make you never wanna drink and drive again. So far everything is going smooth. I will update this review as time goes by. read more

Agree it's a shame you can not leave a zero stars. The only positive reviews are on the website and through Trust Pilot. After recalls to them in 20 minutes and getting three different answers, I started recording the phone calls. I have three final calibrations. The first one came up with a violation that I knew could not have happened but decided to suck it up and just wait out the time. It felt like it was more energy to fight it and just to deal with than the additional time and energy to argue. With my Second final calibration, it came back compliant. However, because my drivers license had expired, they had added 45 days from the date of which I got my due license. The state of Tennessee issued for 45 days which would have ended on January 27. Customer service told me it was 49 days which would have ended on January 30. Very convenience because that is when the next buy must be billing occurred. Once again, I felt like the three extra days wasn't worth the argument and it takes the complaints to department three days to respond assuming they do respond. My final straw occurred with the third final calibration after the 45 days, that compliance reviewed back with a violation that was two months for the original violation. Fortunately, my car was in the body shop in maintenance mode. I called and got the exact time of the violation. Thing called body shop, which provided The with the timeline of the bodywork and when they were completed with it, which happened to be 30 minutes after the alleged violation occurred. I asked for a review with the state which meant I had to send a form to the company. I called back to have them. Tell me the violation of heard six minutes after the completion of the work. The problem here was that the battery was dead when I picked up the car and I a lot of body shop 15 minutes after the second time they gave me. Fortunately, I was able to pull my call from my cell phone where I had called them twice to report the problem which was there was a power interruption due to the battery. And a sync error. The customer service rep tell me that my car was successfully started 30 minutes before the battery was replaced and argued that it stayed running for a given amount of time. I had a 3 1/2 hour drive from the body shop to my home. They are keeping being about the change of the time. I was able to contact Body shop to have them send an email to me about the issue with the car, not starting that day until the battery was replaced 30 minutes after they closed, which was an hour after the violation. If you want to really be able to document your issues log into your account from a laptop or iPad and do a live chat and then screenshot the conversation. After the phone call with customer service rep. That I recorded. Four hours later, I am engaged in a live test session and was told about the two errors and when I specifically asked about the violation of tampering with the device because the camera was obstructed, I was informed it was not a violation, and the view was not a instructed because the camera was upside down and after I started the car, I turned it right side up. I have documented all of this and sent it to the state of Tennessee. Additionally, if you go to Reddit you will see that a law firm in Knoxville is engaged in a lawsuit. The Better Business Bureau has them listed with an a rating under the company that owns Intoxalock which is Consumer Safety Technology LLc. I have reported down, asking them how they have an a rating given the mention reviews between here and Reddit. People are having the same complaints. I have heard nightmares from people in person about the problems when it comes to getting this device removed. Their intention is to prolong the length of time you have this device to continue collecting bimonthly payments. They are taking advantage of people, knowing that after several months that most people cannot prove or documents, the incorrect information. Take the phone to put them on speaker and I told you this conversation or engage in live chat and the conversation. Also anytime that you blow and it comes out with a reading other than zero take a picture of it. iPhones are awesome for date and. Timestamps. One other issue, which is the original violation they came off with stated a reading that is way higher than anytime I've blown. I also documented on this day that they changed the time of the violation and included the act of violation. My car was not started. I pointed out to them that I had pictures taken before and after the violation from two different locations proving that was started and I left. They came back with the car was started later. This is something I've also documented. There needs to be another class action suit against this company. I will be contacting the law firm that I found and calling one that is local to where I live. They need to be shut down. read more

DO NOT USE THIS "company"!! Initial staff is nice, very helpful, makes you feel like you'll never have an issue of getting help when needed. As soon as you get your device installed, and I'm not kidding - down to the second, you'll never have access to that team again. Everything is on an outsourced line. In desperation (after they charged me almost $150 and couldn't tell me why) I used someone else's phone to try and get back to the initial team so that I could get to the bottom of everything. The lady asks for my phone number so she can "look up my account".....she then proceeds to go silent for about a minute and the line transfers over to the SAME OUTSOURCED team I'm already on the other phone with! I hand up and try to call back only to realize she's added the phone number that I've called from (not associated with my account at all) to some list that routes directly to the outsourced team. This company is predatory and will take money without authorization then give you no explanation, no help, no hope of keeping money in your account l, and will do everything in their power to keep this device in your car as long as possible so they can take every dollar you have. Absolutely diabolical scam. I'd rather have 4 YEARS of LifeSafer than 4 months of Intoxalock. Excessive and unpredictable fees charged to your account almost every 1-2 weeks, ridiculous calibrations not even included in the "lease" costs, unreliable service going down with no degree of compensation (you actually pay MORE to get LESS), clueless and useless customer service, constant device issues and frustration. Avoid drinking and driving for THESE REASONS ALONE, but if you must get an interlock you should be GRATEFUL that LifeSafer exists to actually make things reasonable. read more

I recommend shopping around and finding a provider other than Intoxalock. Their device is very sensitive on re-tests and will regularly register as insufficient breathe. This means you then pay them various fees to get it unlocked and serviced through no fault of your own (other than picking the wrong provider). They also ding you hard for recalibration tests. I'm due to have my device removed and a calibration falls a week before this. DMV told me the recalibration can be waived if Intoxalock will do so. They said no they won't allow that. They wan to extract another fee from me apparently. Go with another provider. One star for customer service and value. read more

DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED AND PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THEIR SYSTEMS FAILURE. I have spent about 3,000$ extra of my own money to pay for their mistakes since getting this. They are making me pay hundreds of dollars for their failed systems. Their systems went down and twice I went in to be in compliance. They said they would give an extension, they didn't. My car was forced to be towed as a result of their failure, they didn't reimburse it. Now my car is inoperable, I am not required by law to have their ignition lock, and they refuse to activate it and let me drive to a service center to get it removed. They are forcing me to pay my own money to tow my car because of their systems failure. I have spent 20+ hours on hold trying to call them because their online website for support is broken and doesn't have my correct social to verify my information. The sheer amount of immediate electrical problems I've had the day of install is staggering. Customer service will leave you on hold for an hour only to try to tell you they can't do anything, and after you get letters of authorization from your state authorizing them, they will still tell you to go **** yourself and hang up. Get literally any other ignition interlock service if you have to. read more

Customer service is in India I can assume since every call (6) i have made ive talked to someone with a heavy indian accent. Some were nice but they seem to deflect your questions by just going off a script it feels like. The last person I talked to that prompted this review was someone unprofessional. He sounded like he just woke up and he was rushing me off the phone like he needed to leave. Didn't ask if I had any other questions, basically just said okay there's an answer for you, bye. Unfortunately, yelp has not generated a zero star option yet. The fortunate part is that everything is on a recorded and monitored line. Supervisor Leslie who was very adamant about not finding my account, clearly told me more than enough times that I did not have an active account with them. Even after providing her my account number she still stated that I didn't have an active account. Mysteriously, she finds my account after she said to me that her and I were having a language barrier when it's clear simple English "You do not have an account". The entire phone call she maintains a horrible stank attitude and I quote "I DONT CARE" coming from Leslie's "language barrier". She never got back on the phone and hung up. Leslie's poor attitude is a violation and liability to the company and should be removed from her position immediately. Additionally, I signed a lease that obligates Intoxalock to send me a 30 day notice of any price changes and they failed to do so. read more

Called during a lockout and an employee named BRITTANY tried to tell me she couldn't waive my lockout fee, but when I called back and spoke with a different employee they were able to do it immediately. Brittany, tell me, how does that make sense? I thought you couldn't do that without special approval? So you are lying to your customers now and that's a direct image on intoxalock. Doesn't look good. Should probably look into Brittany and make sure she's doing what she's supposed to when she's clocked in at work. Intoxalock is an absolute mess and it starts with employees like Brittany being lazy and not doing the job that she's paid to do with the training she was given. Until you make changes from the ground up this company will continue to be known as a headache. read more

These people are horrible over the phone they will try and scam you out if your money. Read the reviews on this place and it says it all. DO NOT USE THEM! I luckily cancelled before I installed the machine and was horrified. Trying to get thru to someone is a nightmare and when I cancelled the lady Kristina actually hung up the phone on me! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE THEM!!! If you need someone out of Kansas use SPEEDY BONDS HALLIE is her name and she is great. The install is easy and quick and everything is done right at there shop. After waiting 45 minutes on hold, I took the opportunity to look up customer reviews. Reading repeated complaints about failing devices and poor customer service confirmed my decision to end the call and look for alternatives. I do not understand why answering a call should take more than 10-15 minutes, yet I was left waiting three times that long. The experience almost suggests that after every weekend, half the population receives a DUI. Thank you, Intoxalock, for the delay--it gave me the chance to learn more about your reputation. Drains battery. Bran new battery and in less than a year it dies! Charged me to start the car after battery was replaced They say it's a 50 $ charge every 2 weeks ends up being around 65 The customer service is not helpful at all Be prepared to have more troubles in the future with false retest and also a bit hard to use I would not recommend this to anyone Go to smart start or any other company other than intoxalock They do not work with you with recalabation or communicat with the shops that are closed on the weekends Do not do not do not go with this company read more

One of the worst devices ever created in the history of mankind. If you want additional punishment to your charge, look no further. This device will have you pulling out your hair, eyes and teeth. You have to blow out, in, out and if you don't do it perfectly each time the machine will count it as an error. It is the most annoying thing in the world. I wasted $500 or more installing and returning (had to disconnect it myself because I couldn't get the car to start) this Godforsaken device. Go with LifeSafer Interlock instead read more

Horrible service since I've had intoxaloc, they have made me late or miss out on work multiple occasions with issues with the device and there miscommunication within there own company causing nothing but time and money at our own expense. Not to mention tryna get help from someone on the phone, takes literally and hour each time just to try to get a hold of someone, and you better pray there nice cause sometimes there just plain rude and will drop your call to make life even harder than it has to be with them read more

Yet here we go again. I've been with Intoxalock for almost two years. After the last issue (which they finally resolved after months) here we are yet again. My lease ends on January 19th and even though I am indigent I am still required to pay the fees... despite it being part of the issue from last time where I paid the fees and after months they finally gave me back a refund (on their account of course, getting it fully refunded was like pulling teeth) So I called and was told multiple times that I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor or be transferred to a different department. I am yet again beyond frustrated with this horrible company and out of more money than it's worth. just take the no driving. you'll be saving money and time! Adding this because what the heck??!! Received paperwork stating I needed to sign a new lease. Looked it over and exited so I could call after work. My lease is in place until my uninstall date on the 19th...or should have been Got a notification on my phone that my new lease was signed but I didn't sign anything!!! So again... Horrible Horrible. money stealing. i dont even drink anymore. they almost didnt stop charges for a bad blower handheld. i had to go to the service center. and they had to fight for me. theyve lied multiple times. im changing to lifesafer. i could go on and on about this group of thieves. Ive spent so much money on false blows on the device. this last one. there was a pizza in the passenger seat. i blew and failed. 4 minutes later i blew and passed. the service center had to fight to get them to give me a new handheld and not charge me. But truth is all their handheld devices are this way. i know because ive been down this road twice. the one time intoxalok said they would wipe charges after i paid to recalibrate the device. i called back to have them wipe charges and they wouldnt do it. said they record the calls and if they checked the call they would remove the charge if i was told that. charge was never removed. The absolute worst predatory service ever. The whole year Ive been on Ive paid 3 times what the price was supposed to be for violations that were very ridiculous. I also was to be finished with this program on March 13th and today I still have a system in my car. Now the contract wasn't renewed and now my truck doesn't work and I have until Monday morning or I'll be terminated from my place of employment. I was given a number to text since all their numbers are down. No one will send my Declaration of Compliance. So even tho I have served my sentence here I am still on and no one from Intoxalock will even respond to me. Absolutely try another service. This company is vicious from start to finish. The company is a scam. Quote you a price and then tack on a bunch of hidden fee's. They claim the device doesn't kill your battery but will die if you don't start it for 2 days and then charge you $75 lockout fee for no reason. Horrible customer service . read more

I had my ignition interlock installed on 3/26/2026. I drive my car maybe twice a week to and from work. I was told by the company that installed it to disconnect the blower from the car on cold nights because it will take longer to warm up in the morning. I have disconnected it three times, I came out of work on Monday and tried to connect it and the part that holds the cord broke off. I had to drive home 4 miles holding the wire into the blower hoping that it wouldn't disconnect and lock my engine. As soon as I got home I called the company that installed it and they told me to bring my car in on Tuesday. I had a friend come with me to hold the wire in place. Before I left I called Intoxallock and spoke to an agent and let her know the situation and to also make sure if it did disconnect that I was not paying the fee due to their faulty equipment. She informed me that she had to call the company and put a work order in. She proceeded to tell me that she tried to call them 6 times and no one answered so once I got there I was to call her back. When I got there the office manager told me that no one had called her or her assistant that they had been there the whole tim. So the agent platantly lied! Needless to say I had to call Intoxalock again go through the whole story once again, to make a really long story short after them speaking to the Mechanic, the office manager they were overnighting the new blower because they had none in stock. As we were ending the call the mechanic had secured the wire I go to start my car and Intoxalock had turned it off with an error. My car is at the garage and I had to find a ride home. I called the garage to see if my part came in today and what a surprise it didn't, another lie!! What really pisses me off is that I have to pay for something that doesn't work due to their faulty equipment. The thought of dealing with them for a year is beyond comprehension. read more

Intoxalock as a whole, meaning it be the company, the employees & representatives, or even the service centers that provide services to the device itself pride themselves with odious communication skills, if any at all; meaning they will reassure you as a consumer of one thing and then purposely do or tell the state you're in the opposite. Their representatives are not informed of legal requirements that any specific state need, and naturally anything you as a consumer require for your compliance? Forget it. Don't even imagine it, because Intoxalock is sure to do absolutely anything in their power to keep you paying for their device and services as long as they can. Imagine a blood transfusion but with your finances.. You will be giving everything you earn to Intoxalock no matter how well you do in the eyes of your state laws because truthfully they are at the receiving end of your life blood, too; A pyramid scheme involving you, Intoxalock, and the state you received a DUI in, and guess who's at the bottom of that pyramid? My vehicle has been at my designated garage for 2 weeks waiting to be worked on for mechanical issues. I reported my vehicle as being repaired which apparently is only good for 5 days. please recognize that my vehicle is still at the garage, waiting to be worked on. I've tried calling to explain but Intoxalock makes it literally impossible to speak with someone and charges me while not on the road. Customer service is terrible...non existent.. read more

Supposedly, Intoxalock sent in my final 120 day compliance review to TN. I had them electronically send it again because TN said they did not get it. Once again, they TN does not have it. Instead, I finally find out from TN that they sent my final calibration in but sent no Certificate of Compliance. WTH. You know this is required. Stall. Stall. Oops. Stall. Did Intoxalock mistake it for toilet paper? Between the two entities this is double poo. They both will do ANYTHING to prolong this process in order to net more money. If they do a monthly calibration check then there should BE NO REASON for a final calibration anyways. No violations in TWO YEARS. Keep it simple...after final calibration & no violations- just sent it in automatically and have State stamp their approval on it. Why do that when there is more money to take?? SMH. Decietful and predatory business practice from sales to their legal department. A quick search on Facebook or Google could have saved me so much hassle, potential issues with device and billing and specifically the installation of an incorrect device and lying Social Media Specialist operating as a retention expert but with the same bait and switch tactics as their sales representatives. Do not install a device voluntarily, or to satisfy legal requirements for your state as Intoxalock/Consumer Safety Technology LLC has a countless number of claims and lawsuits. I had an Intoxalock device installed in my 2013 Volvo S60 on September 2, 2025. Within two weeks, the device drained my battery and damaged my starter. My car would randomly turn on accessories, unlock doors, activate the parking brake, and turn lights on and off by itself. Eventually, the car became completely disabled and would not start, even after replacing the battery. I have not been able to use my vehicle since September 15, 2025. I followed Intoxalock's instructions, purchased a new battery on October 30, 2025, and had the car towed to a recommended shop on November 1, 2025--the same day as my scheduled recalibration appointment. After waiting over 90 minutes, I was told the car still would not start, and that Intoxalock's recalibration department is not open on weekends (which I was never informed of). The shop also stated they receive frequent complaints about Intoxalock. Each time I contact Intoxalock, I receive inconsistent information, severe language barriers, and no resolution. At one point, a representative even added my neighbor's number to my account instead of returning my call. Despite replying to my online review, no one from Intoxalock has contacted me directly to resolve this issue. Intoxalock has falsely implied I tampered with the device, which I absolutely did not do. My vehicle had no mechanical or electrical problems prior to installation. Now it is completely non-functional, and I am being told I must pay for towing, repairs, and removal of a defective device that caused the damage to begin with. There are numerous similar complaints nationwide, which shows this is not an isolated incident. I am requesting removal of the device at no cost, reimbursement for damages, and restoration of my vehicle to working condition. read more

I would highly not recommend intoxlock. My device kept killing my battery and even when you put it in sleep mode. Still drained my battery. In the winter I could never start my car. It took me 30 to 40 mins to warm it up. Smart lock is the best route to go. There fees are high. Paying 46 every 2 weeks plus 50 for calibrations. And customer service you can't understand the employees they all have deep accents. It took me 2 weeks to get my interlock out . Because the paper work even tho I had a vailed driver license again and proof. They will do everything in there power to keep that interlock in your car to make money. Never in my life I will use intoxlock again or get another DUI. I highly suggest going to different company where you can remove the device from your car and take it inside like smart lock for the winters. read more

Absolutely horrible nothing but issues... Absolutely horrible nothing but issues from day one I have had this device in two different company trucks . Most recently brand new truck now key fab doesn't work,power locks window radio and interior lights . Now they have suspended my license due to two lockouts ,from false readings ,pump failure,it got so bad for last two months it would take me five times of blowing to get it to take a reading multiple times failed start then 30 seconds later passed ,finally they had changed device and cord twice and still false readings. Now license is gone I have received removal documents from RMV and sent to them as directed and nothing after 3 different times on phone wasting hours and I couldn't understand representative now I can't even get the thing removed . It's beyond me how this company is still in business absolutely ruined my life . read more

TERRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Negative stars if possible They will steal from you and lie. Had to fight for 3 different charges to be removed from my bill. They double bill you for EVERYTHING. Claim you can contact them 24/7, yet the app has an email link that takes 3-5 days for a reply. How does that help someone whose car will not start? I wish I had done more research on this but I was under a deadline and went with the first company I saw. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY ADULT LIFE!! My experience with Intoxalock has been a nightmare this year. 1 My lease was never sent to the DMV since I signed it 11/2024 so my licence has been suspended for a year. I have called in multiple times to have the lease sent because the DMV would not take the lease from me directly; it has to come from your team in order to accept it. eye roll The 3 people I talked to including a manager stated they would send the lease over and call me back to confirm and never sent it over and never called me back. I have called multiple times and talked to multiple people and it still has not been resolved in 10 months. :( So my license has been suspended and interlock will probably be extended by another year due to this issue. I plan on taking this to court and fighting this if it does happen. The other issue was that the intoxalock burned out the ignition switch in my car in July and stopped in mid traffic so I towed it to a mechanic. The Mechanic stated it was the intox machine not giving power to the switch in the ignition and the approved maintenance store will need to address that repair, so I had it towed AGAIN to car toys. Your approved repair shop . When I dropped it off Alex the store employee stated they hated intox and recommended we just have it taken out and go with another company. I told Alex I have a month left to get it off. I'm not doing that so please just do the repair so I can get on my way. Later in the week no word about the car so I called car toys to get an update. Alex stated no it was not the intox, they took it out and the car still will still not start. So I AGAIN had the car towed back to a certified mechanic and they said "duh it wont start because the switch is fried. They needed to repair the switch for the car to run. AGAIN we towed the car back to car toys. Talked with a manager at this time as you can understand. I'm getting very frustrated with the lack of communication and drive to help solve this issue. As well as the back and forth towing being done. The manager toby stated if we bought the ignition switch they would change it out for us, that was a friday. Monday Alex from car toys called me and stated he didnt care what his manager said he would not do the repair because he does not think that is the problem and he's not comfortable. He wanted me to replace the intox machine with another company instead repairing the switch and replacing the intoc machine with a new one. I lost my mind at this point!! I cannot afford to change companies and I'm 2 months away from getting the machine off. I feel like there was no consideration from car toys on the amount of back and forth I had been doing to just get my car repaired from the damages done from the intox machine. I stated to Alex that a certified mechanic is saying that is the problem, can you just do the repair and if it does not work we can go from there but everyone else is saying. Yes, that is the issue. Alex refused so we had to have them take the intox alock out of the car so we could AGAIN tow it back to the mechanic to repair. I would give this company zero stars if I could and I should have done further research when getting this device installed seeing that almost all its reviews are BAD. DO NOT GET THIS COMPANY FOR IGNITION INTERLOCK! They lie and steal all your money. They already sent me two faulty boxes and don't want to refund me my payment and I haven't even been able to use the car. Also, the sales rep said it was going to be monthly payments but now turned biweekly. This company sucks so bad they even have multiple reddit threads with people having the WORST customer service and have many issues with their ignition interlocks. Lied about pricing on install, Led about pricing on bi weekly payments, Lied about pricing on uninstall. Customer service is extremely rude and unprofessional, usually you can't u Serrano anything they say, other than the attitude. The interlock unit will lock your car out if your breath is too WARM! (good luck in the summer time), if this happens you will have to get your car towed from where ever it's at. I am an electrical engineer so I understand this next issue is designed to be this way, The unit has parasitic voltage draw, meaning it will drain your battery with your car off, when this happens it triggers a (lock out) causing you to have to get your car towed and pay them over $100 to reset it! Before they sign up for the unit, they will offer you a discount if you choose them. But what they don't tell you is there is a hidden fee for account set up, that the discount doesn't even fully cover, so you didn't save anything. When you try to get the unit removed, they'll have you on a 30 minute to 1 hour wait time I assume to get you to hang up. Shit company. No support. Multiple 45 min calls to support with no person on the phone to assist. As a mechanic this is disgusting. I will not "provide a sample" as im not sticking my lips on this filthy piece of shit. I didnt fuck up and get popped for a dui yet i have to deal with this to fix the customer problems. My insurance doesn't allow for people in the shop. No way to deactivate the device while repairs are being made. I will never repair another vehicle with this garbage installed. This in no way should be my problem. Yet here I am. Nothing but a scam so I guess the battery is just gonna dead and the customer can deal with the issues caused. I am aware, that I messed up first and foremost by getting into trouble by driving under the influence in the first place. Nothing good can come from this. For the sake of this review however I'd rather discuss the many downsides of this company of scammers. One of those unfortunate events you'll find yourself coming across is the interlock system installed in your vehicle. When this occurs... DO NOT use Intoxalock for your service provider. I can not stress enough baffled I am as to how this company of liars and theives can operate a business equivalent to calling a bank robber a good branch of banking service. I'd rate them in the negative numbers if I could! Let's get started: Upon agreeing with the terms of service associated with intoxalock, you will be given a brick sized device that you have to pay for to get installed as well as recalibrated in what they tell you is monthly. Instead of monthly the screen on the device will read violation and give you a lockdown every two weeks. This is of course when you didn't violate anything other than having a faulty device. If you do not drive your vehicle to place that installed the device to have the lockdown warning removed, your vehicle WILL NOT START! They give you an app which they'll tell you to install in order to "avoid lockouts" which is completely useless but you can call them right? After waiting on the phone, for an hour on a good day if you choose to call them and from what I've read from other reviews and YouTube complaints, additional fees added to your account by just calling. So, here's where the scam starts: The first calls will have you on the phone with a clear spoken person. They'll tell you they will look into the problem and then "beat around the bush" leaving you no choice but to pay for an extra calibration every month. The lockout fee set was at 75 dollars which they doubled and tripled costing around 225 everytime. You remember me telling you how it cost money to have the device simply in your car? Expect that to be added two and three times added to your credit card bill as well. If you have this device in your car for a year, you could be spending close to 3000 dollars in additional fees. "Run wire" is a reading that comes up often on the handheld device. If you ask your service station about this, they'll tell you Intoxalock is in the wrong, if you ask Intoxalock, the service station is the one who is incorrect. The most likely answer is that they're both in on the scam because you'll be given an additional fee at the service station anyway. If you are confused yet by the amount of money you have already spent, you shouldn't be as you are reading this correctly. Anyway, back to the phone calls. I forgot to mention the lack of communication they will have with the court system. So if you are on probation, need to contact or look at your status provided by the DMV, DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as this company fails to provide this information to them! After they overcharge you constantly, then the service provider bills you too. Once they have you on the additional payments, expect the caller on the other line (English is my first language) to be a caller from outside of the United States. Other reviews I've read on people who have Spanish as their first language have similar complaints. In addition you will again be put on a "wild goose chase" in order to provide information they pretend to care about, only to take more of your money. One of the times I called, a guy on the other line was playing with his dog, borderline, ignoring what I was saying. Additional complaints that are frequently addressed that I myself didn't encounter but am in way surprised of include: 1. The device draining the battery of the vehicle 2. The newer cars unable to use the ignition because of the device. I was however told, I needed a new starter in my car when the frequent problem was either the wire, the device or a combination of both. 3. Falsifying car breakdowns. It should be noted however, that you must call your interlock service provider in case of breakdown and vehicle maintenance. It would also be nice if that information was given to you. 4. False samples (this one I see as a bit more understandable (mouthwash, certain foods etc.) But a false sample by a defective device seems to be moreso the common complaint. To end this long review not only should Intoxalock receive a lawsuit against them for the scam that they are, it should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. For quality of service, just take a look at their ratings. read more

Sooo, in this latest episode of "how can intoxalock make your day worse!" I shut my car off and went into a store to pick up a few things. Never once heard the device make a noise. Was in the store for a half hour and came back out to find that my device was in a lockout. I call the company, they say I'm in a lockout due to not blowing for the retest. Funny, my vehicle was turned off and I was inside the store when they say the retest went off. Even have pics from inside the store at the same time it was supposedly going off about a retest. I call the company, they say I had to have left my car running when it went off for a retest. Guess they don't realize that gas is too expensive right now to leave the car running. Now, I have had that device for over 2.5 years now and have never had a lockout for failing to retest or having alcohol in my system, I think I know how it works. Now I'm all the sudden being told that I have to wait for 2-3 minutes after shutting off my vehicle. I have never once been told that in the entire time I have had this garbage in my vehicle. Oh, I called a day later and the next agent I spoke with said that she was going to do an investigation and get back to me within 24 hours. That was Monday, 2 days ago. Btw, I have a camera in my vehicle and the lady told me that she could check the video to see if I had shut off and exited the vehicle before the restest went off. Plus, looking at the bill, it's not a $75 fee, it's an $80 fee. Think I'm gonna have to my lawyer in on this one. Intoxalock, ya'll have gotten enough of my damn money and if there was another company within 50 miles, I would drop your sorry company. . Overall this experience with Intoxalock has been AWFUL! -10/10 I DO NOT recommend this company. It's extremely difficult to get a hold of an actual person. They want you to use the app they provide WHICH doesn't even allow you to request a work order for calibrations through it. You have to go to the actual site and request them. I live an hour away from where I work so to have my vehicle good to go is an NEED. Friday my box just decided to crap the bed & need to be replaced. Intoxalock said bc it wasn't my fault they'd pay for the tow to the shop & back to wherever I needed it. I had to call their roadside assistance & roadside proceeded to tell me it only covers 15 miles so I had to pay the extra 17 miles each way. They tow it to the service center which by the time it got there they were closed & didn't open again till Monday. I call Intoxalock back telling them this & they continue to tell me it will be done Saturday even though the SERVICE CENTER ISNT OPEN TILL MONDAY. So I call Saturday just to check & NO ONE IS THERE, shocker. Monday I call the garage (meanwhile again I live an hour away from work & work Friday - Wednesday) they never received the part & don't have backups. So here I am Tuesday still waiting on a new box & customer service won't transfer me to a supervisor when I've asked SEVERAL times. After being on hold for 36 minutes waiting for a supervisor to talk to because I've been crashing on coworkers couches or UBERING an hour and back to work. THIS IS OUT OF HAND to say the least. They refuse to give me ANY paperwork on this situation showing what is going on so I can provide it to the courts. Save yourself more trouble & DO NOT use this company read more

They just charged me when I did not owe them any money. They just locked out my car for the third time claiming that I did not blow in time. The device says you have 4 minutes to blow and every 30 seconds it's beeping and saying that I did not blow in time. I was supposed to get it out March of 2020 and here we are February 2021. They called me and asked me if my car was my daily driver I answered yes and they said my machine is broke and they will fix it for free. Mean while they claim during the time it was broken I blew a .04 and they locked out my car. They just charged me $144.00 after I just paid them 630.00. I go to my car this morning to take my son to the dentist my car is locked out again. I call to ask why and they say I did not blow during a re-test. That's absolutely not true as I am extremely cautious sine the whole "machine is broken" incident and really really tired of them manipulating my machine. There is no way i missed a re-take the machine screams at me every time I don't blow hard enough and scream louder when If I miss a blow. This is complete insanity and beyond absurd. Now I have to pay for another tow truck to come out and take my car to get re-calibrated for the third time and pay them again on my dime. This is insanity and I need to find someone to help me because customer service is so rude and refuses to listen to the customer. At this point I think I may need a lawyer idk what else to do. If you like being financially raped then threatened with jail, Intoxilock is for you. The company needs to be shut down for fraud with a class action lawsuit and it is run by a bunch of crooks. The handheld is absolute garbage and goes off every 5 to 8 minutes screaming at you for another sample. It will shut down your engine without warning, with the alarm going off without a violation...it's really dangerous. When you call, they send you to Mumbai to a group of call center who are all con artists who don't speak English. I have had to buy a new battery, pay for false lockouts, and for service when it goes on the fritz through no fault of my own. They take no responsibility for their faulty product that is just as dangerous as drinking or texting while driving. They know damn well that they are the absolute worst company on earth and are proud of it. I have seriously have had thought of suicide so many times since this thing was installed. If you try and talk to someone in the courts about the criminal extortion they rely on for their shareholders] you are laughed at. There customer service is terrible. They just hang up on You. There equipment is old and runs your car. The tops falls off the machine and rolls under seats in the middle of machine going off. Truly extremely unsafe i Have almost got into so many accidents. They automatically charge you a 5.95 monthly protection plan fee. I have never signed anything to do with this. They refuse to refund me or take it off my plan. Complete crooks and the states should not allow how crooked they are. I had a Intoxalock representative talking to a DMV State person asking for something they needed and they were talking to them after the DMV State person and waited to get throw to a person took 30 mins and they were talking to him and I and since they didn't understand the sheet he was asking for they decided to hang up on them. They always hang up they don't understand English. The first person that sells you on this Intoxalock is from the US. After that good luck. I did my time. (5months), in regards to the device, the only complaint I have was draining my battery a couple of unexplained random times. Other than that, yes it was an inconvenience, but you get used of it. I drank and drove, and accept this "inconvenience" as It's better than killing someone. But with intoxalock, I feel extorted and now a hostage! First had to pay an extra month because they started billing me the day I gave them my information to get started, and yet to even have the device installed as my old car wasn't ready yet. Now I can't get a response on app or a live person, as I'm trying to get my device removed since my court order time has been up since a month ago. Nobody live is available except for the salesperson when you first sign up. The app is helpful, especially for taking your payment and scaring you with random warning signs now and then, reminding you a collaboration is due. But I have clicked on "DEVICES REMOVAL" for 5 weeks now and NOBODY has responded like their message says it will. The only notification I receive is my lease is about to expire again. I'm not paying or signing another lease until God or a lawyer appears and helps me get out of this kidnapping. read more

Horrible. Has a "rolling Lockout" was doing some monthly maitainance on my car. Checking fluids battery, etc... missed the time frame while checking the transmission fluid (car has to be running) was frantically blowing in the device would not take the "blow" time ran out and the lockout occurred. the device immediatly reset and within seconds i blew in it again and passed the test. tried to get them to reset without the fee...would not refund my $75. said i had already been given my " grace" reset (one that would be free), this one was due to my battery going dead....older vehicle (2007, no automatic turn off light device, left the lights on). I surely hope these people never experience any car trouble (battery dead), checking fluids etc.. and have to pay $75 bucks.....whatever happened to common courtesy (empathy) to people when they have the ability to check the camera and see you trying to "blow" (with the exact time to the second) then can see you blowing in it seconds later (on the camera) with the time(just seconds later with a pass. $$$$$$$$$$$ all bout the MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$ these people are NOT HUMAN!!!!!! read more

I sincerely wish I would have read these reviews before allowing them to install an IID in my mother's vehicle. The original service center who installed it totally botched the job. Shotty wiring held together loosely by tape. The faulty wiring killed the battery in a brand new vehicle. We're lucky it didn't start the car on fire. We had to pay $400 to the mechanics to fix the wiring. A new IID can't even be installed without a complete rewiring...that's how bad the installers messed it up. As everyone else says, it's a pain in the @$$ to get ahold of their customer service. Multiple calls lasting 45+ minutes. They just bounce you around until they eventually hang up. So frustrating! They will not reimburse for the damage caused during installation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!! read more

I had this company over 3 years ago and my car got locked out in the middle of my driveway because of a dead battery so I called them they said I was going to have to have my car towed to have it calibrated again this was not the first time I had problems with them had problems since day one with over billing and the equipment so that day I told them I want it out of my car so had to pay the company to come to my house and remove it costed me $375. This morning I was trying to set up an appointment to get my interlock device off after 2 years, and I spoke with somebody on the phone around 8:30 AM, they said it was all taken care of... However it wasn't... I called back this afternoon, and a wonderful person by the name of Kenya Holloway answered, and from then on took care of everything I needed to accomplish. Zero stars. This company is here to steal your money. The intoxilock drains your battery. The device malfunctioned and left me stranded on Thanksgiving. I've already violated 3 times and all were bs. Don't eat pizza and drive. I got a violation 11 for no reason and talked to 4 different people and they didn't resolve it. They tried to say I started my car without blowing into my machine. That's impossible. Then they tried to say I stepped on my brake pedal. That's a violation? What's that have to do with drinking a driving? DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, At 1st it was fine, my truck just had a new engine installed and it died starting last week, so apparently in the middle of Corona virus, no work, no food, no money, they are charging me$75 for a "lock out" and another $35 to the shop recalibrating it. This is a HORRIBLE company, go with any ANY other breathalyzer company, just not this one. They will over charge all the time and you're forced to pay it.
