They said it's free installation, not only is it not free at all, the installers gave absolutely no instruction on how to use this complicated thing. It took a while to figure out how to use it right, it's dangerous in traffic, and very bad for asthmatics as it makes you blow and suck repeatedly and hard for about 10 seconds. They also charge extra fees and when their equipment malfunctions they charge you to fix it. And then when I was finally completely fed up with it and decided to go with a different company, because of the ease I've been told about from others, they charged about $250 to disconnect it! read more

After 90 days and about 12 phone calls I STILL can't get my money back for an incorrect charge of $76.36. I get someone different every time and I have to explain it all over again, only for them to tell me the money will be in my account in 24-48 hours. Haven't received yet. So I'll be posting my complaint where ever I can to get the word out...liars and cheats! read more

Unless you could use more stress in your life from another mandated money grab in your already highly stressful situation, then go ahead and give this company a try. You will likely be forced to keep it in your vehicle for much longer than you thought. My example: I was ordered to have it in for a year. The set up went beautifly and they made it really easy to set up my credit card so they could take my money. THATS WHERE THE GOOD EXPERIENCE ENDS! Shortly after you find that they signed you up for stuff you didn't ask for or need and they try to get it into your lease to charge you more. Want to call customer support? Get ready to wait and when you finally get someone on the phone, you realize it's an Indian call center that gives zero fks about helping you. That was how it started. It's been a year and I'm ready to get this thing out of my car and be over and past all this. NOOPE! You have to blow and go fk yourself for 3 more months of payments, why? Because you went on military orders and missed your calibration by one day. I actually did make it to the service center on the last day that the calibration was due because my orders had ended that day and I was sure I'd make it before the shop closed. NOPE AGAIN, they closed early during their business hours. I had to pay $200 the next day for a tow to get it calibrated. I call and finally get someone on the phone thinking something must be able to be done if I explain the curcumstances. After all, I had no control over this situation. NOPE X3! THATS THREE STRIKES NOW GO FK YOURSELF AND GIVE US MORE MONEY! Call the state DMV to explain the situation, they tell me to tell Intoxalock the situation and ask them to remove it. Call intoxaslock, they tell me to call the DMV and ask them to remove it. Wonderful, both sides are telling me to talk to the other and now all I want to do is rip this thing out of my car after doing everything in my power to do the right thing. This is the worst company period!!! I wish zero stars were an option. Please go with anyone else for your device. These people are CRIMINAL!! Have gotten multiple lockouts, sometimes 4 in a week. Have complained and had my device looked at and I was told device had faulty wiring and was fixed. Was reimbursed over $700 the first time. However you never get the $30 service fee back from the sevice center. I've paid a couple grand extra just on that alone. Everything is fine until your balance goes to zero. Then the random violations start happening again. Second time I was reimbursed over $500 which wasnt even all that I should have gotten but its so hard to get a hold of anyone in the states to even talk to. Balance gets to zero again and here I am currently on my 4th lock out in a week alone not counting the others since it did. This device is supposed to come out in July and I can only hope that will not be an issue.(sure it will). Stay the furthest away from this company unless you want to pay thousands of dollars more than you should!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I'm pretty sure that all the positive reviews here are paid for bot accounts. This company is shady from the very start. First call to set up they are super helpful at taking the initial set up fee of 39.99 and getting you set up with install. Soon as you get it installed they send you the lease to sign and this is where it all goes downhill. The lease has several hidden fees that they didn't mention including an extra 8 bucks a month for roadside assistance that you didn't ask for. Somehow immediately your account will be past due almost 200 dollars. Oh and since you already have it installed they add your number to the "already suckered" list and your calls don't go straight to a person. Initial call I had a live person in less than a minute. After install the menu changed and you get put on hold for at least 20-30 minutes. When you finally get a person on the line you realize it's an Indian call center and they do not care to help. I wanted to discuss the extra BS on the lease and they told me they would transfer me to someone that could help. They transfer you to total silence where nobody ever picks up. This has happened after 3 attempts. This company is only out to prey on those that are already struggling and are forced to deal with them. It's pure bait and switch. If you have a choice, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

The whole Intoxalock process is designed to take as much money from you as possible. According to the NH DMV, before re-applying for the licensing process, a car has to have an intoxilock on it. Since you can't own a car in NH without a drivers license, the intoxilock has to be put on someone else's car before you can request a knowledge test. So it is put on my car and I have to comply with all the rules and restrictions my wife got. Then with Covid19, it takes 4 months to schedule a written test and then another month for a road test, wasting 5 months and costing me $450 for the intoxilock and another $120 for calibrations for absolutely nothing since the year timer starts the day my wife gets back her license. I now have to pay them another $1000 to lease the device and another $500 on calibrations for the times year. They also don't tell you that the re-calibration date is a hard date and time and they will disable your car 1 minute after the recalibration date/time. That will cost $75 to re-enable the car. In my case, my job has airline travel required and when I got back from a long trip to the airport, I had a dead car. NICE SURPRISE! Cha ching, $75 penalty. Since I did not have to drive that car and my wife still could not drive, I did not drive the car for a couple of weeks. No one said the device constantly draws from the battery and it killed my battery, locking up the car. Cha ching, another $75 penalty. With Covid19, I was not driving to work anymore. I called intoxilock and was told the car has to be started for at least 15 - 20 minutes every day to ensure the battery does not die, you got to be kidding me!!!!! I was told if idling the car in the driveway, I would have to stay in it. So that would be over 2 hours every week sitting in my car to ensure the battery does not die. So far, for a car my wife still can't drive until maybe her Nov 13th drivers test. I have paid over $750 for nothing yet. The device is dangerous and causes distracted driving because it goes off every 4 - 8 minutes and decides when to retry even when not appropriate since the device decides when. My car is a manual and getting into stop and go traffic or traffic lights can be terrifying. You need 3 hands, one on the wheel, one on the shifter, one on the intoxilock. Never mind using the radio or cell phone or open windows, because missing the very quiet tone and missing a test and then missing a second test will start the horn honking. I did plan to drive the car to FL (1500 miles) and see my father in law at 89 years old, but I would have to perform the breath test between 250 to 300 times each way. And it is not always accurate. I myself have failed the test 3 times in 5 months and I DON'T DRINK! Last drink was A beer from last February, 9 months ago. My wife now has her leaners permit and had not driven a car for almost 4 years. Instead of concentrating on driving the car for the first time, she was overwhelmed with the device intruding on all aspects of driving the car. The device is huge and there is nowhere to put it, so it can only go on the drivers lap. Forget about on a winters day going out and starting the car to warm up and melt the ice/snow. You can't leave the car running without staying inside, because if you miss a test, not good. As dangerous as distracted cell phone driving. read more

This company has the absolute worst customer service that I have ever encountered in my time on this earth! I I've been charged countless times for lockouts in which I had not caused nor should I have been responsible for. After shutting off the vehicle and waiting for the timer to begin its count down, I went inside of my home or the establishment in which I was frequenting. After my return to the vehicle, I discovered that the device was put into a lockout and I was charged $81.20 for a violation. This has happened at least a half dozen times now. When I initially started my service I had paid in advanced for 5 months of service that only lasted for 3 months before I started to receive charges to my acount. When confronting the customer service representative about the lockout charges, I was informed that they were valid lockouts and it was my responsibility to pay for each of the violations that had taken place. I have had nothing but problems with this device for the majority of the time in which I have had it in my vehicle, and I'm going to have it removed immediately!! Again, this is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life, and some of the rudest customer service Representatives I've ever encountered! I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone that I know!! This site only allows for me to put a one-star I wouldn't even give it a half a star rating!! read more

Customer service is horrible and the company wants to shuffle you around vs address the issue. I had a GA Lic but got my DUI in FL. Had my interlock installed in FL. They are sending all reports to FL when GA is the one that needs them. For some reason this is blowing their minds and noone can seem to help. It's complicated so they just pass me along and one of them hung up on me. I've had this piece of s for 3 months paying twice a month plus calibration and as far as I can tell its for nothing. read more

Horrible service. I cannot believe that I have to stay with my vehicle the whole time at the automotive place. My alternator needs to be replaced, and you can't even drop your car off to have it repaired. I would never choose their equipment. Their customer support is also appallingly bad. Don't go with this company!! read more

This horrible company doesn't even deserve one star. The customer service is totally incompetent if you are even able to reach anyone. I've been trying for weeks to have critical information required by the RMV emailed to me, but they haven't bothered to do so. I literally begged them to send me this information. Without it I am left in a terrible position. Do not risk your future with Intoxalock! Aside from getting a dui, using Intoxalock was the worst mistake I've made. read more

I am beyond done with this company, like everyone else I too feel like it's a complete ripoff! This week Tuesday, their breathalyzer failed, not allowing me to leave the parking spot in front of the Post Office, a federal building. They were ordering a new device for me for installation on Thursday. They told me they'd patch me through to their road side service, however, they couldn't get anyone "in network" that could move my car tell morning? Vehicle I front of federal building will get Towed, thank you very much, not. I ended up using my own road side insurance. When I called the service center they didn't have any appointment for me on Thursday and was wondering why my car was parked in front of their building! I called customer service again and they informed me that they were not able to schedule an appointment Norris send out my new device on Tuesday! But an appointment would be set up for Friday. Go to the service company to drop off my car key and they tell me I have no appointment on Friday! I called customer service yet again and they reach out to the service center and only to find out that an appointment was not made in my car will not be serviced until Monday! What the heck am I supposed to do for a car? they should pay for me a rental!!! read more

These people are scammers!! They quoted me around at least $25 less a month (I say at least because there's other hidden charges I'm most likely going to have to dispute) than they quoted AFTER THEY CHARGED THE APPLICATION FEE!! I had to put a hold on my card which takes 7-10 days... There's about 5 things they covered up with a SALESWOMAN who seemed really nice but was a snake in the grass... I pushed back my appointment but I'm still receiving appointment texts so I'm sure this is another fee... I'd really love to see some government intervention but I really doubt it's ever going to come read more

Complete scam of a company, do not use them. Got a random lock out on my device and they charged me $75. When I called them the story changed from my key being in the ignition before blowing into the interlock device to I missed a test.... TWO DAYS EARLIER. Weird it never said lockout the two days after. Customer service is horrible. They are just looking to take adb of people who are already being punished for their mistakes. read more

Total scam. They will kill you in lockout fees for which has nothing to do with. Must have good lungs or pay up. Every month NEW fees are added in addition to regular fees. Get maintenance done early, your next maint is shown on app as correct BUT actual breathalyzer shows 3 days lockout for maibtenance (sic). It can't add or subtract correctly. Now pay up to unlock. read more

Is there a way to give negative 5 million stars. Please put the intoxalock phone number down. Trust me look every where for reviews except intoxalocks pages. This company is the biggest crock of poop ive ever seen. If you people are reading this DO NOT use intoxalock. #1. They won't tell you but I will they are not allowed install in the state of Missouri. But they will still set you up and take your money. #2. The hidden fees. You will be charged every week and up to 3 Days before they are supposed to charge your account. The fees will change and can range from a $50 to $90 difference. #3 they will say they're sending the last calibration but they don't. But then they will schedule your Uninstall and then send an email to the state that you Uninstalled early (watch for this because you state is in on this part. You have to call the state to schedule your unistall, because you got to get permission.)#4 they places you will go. Backwoods shady mechanics that live in their shop.dirty shops to get calibrations. And i know mechanics are messy jobs but this was food wrappers and dirty diapers. Oh and a 4 hour install what a fucking joke.....I can keep going. But bottom line is intoxalock is a joke a big oh fat joke. Also not one of their employees have any Idea what they are doing. Not one. The first lady sent the wrong one so they got 2 months of money for the wrong product. Then they try to charge me for removal of old install of new. (Keep in mind they call the state to know which one to send)not even the managers know anything. And don't get me started on compliance team. They make crap up. Like seriously guys be very careful if you use this company. No matter your state. Also intoxalock has messed up batteries, cut wires they have no business touching and ruin cars. Your only seeing the good reviews that they pick and show you. (Why else would you have to email your review?)now with that said your state will not back you either they are in cahoots to get money. And now on to Google and every other site I can review this company on. Oh and there's is a suit against intoxalock so if you've been burnt by this company you should look into it. Save yourself the stress and the heartache of choosing this company. Worst place to go through. Hasnt been a month and the keep trying to add on extra fees they never talk to you about. They $50 every 2 week plus a recalibration fee to the auto service that does it. Every 2 weeks the keep trying to add on $30-$40 more for shit they never discussed when signing up. Do your self a favor and find a different complany. Intoxalock is trash! read more

Where do I even begin? First of all, how is this company even licensed with the BBB. This company is a complete joke and honestly, they are outright thieves. Outdated devices, crappy wiring, horrible customer service agents that don't know s**t. You would think they hired prisoners for agents. I have 5 more months left with this device and when I get it off I am going to take a much-needed vacation. Every week I have an issue with these people and this device. I see some people owned up to their mistake of drunk driving, as am I. Dumb decision on my part and I am learning my lesson. However, a line has to be drawn somewhere... Get it together Intoxalock, or just go out of business. At this rate, every customer is going to regret their decision to choose you and will continue to leave bad reviews, just like every single customer has done on here. That's embarrassing. I'm gonna tell you this this intoxical company is added again. Every time they need money or they want me to hurry and pay my bill they'll do something to set off my car and put me in a lock out where I have to pay everything up front or I can't get my car running.. Now they're saying that they can't reset my lockout because I have a bad connection a bad connection? A bad connection is gonna keep me from going to work tomorrow to a new job I left my job today to go have my car calibrated and I got there and they wouldn't let me calibrate it because I Still owed part of this month's bill which I had already made arrangements with them for next week when I get my income tax money - but anyway so I took off work to go have it calibrated for nothing in traffic in a new boss I took off to go do that and nothing got done because they turned me away way. This company will do anything to get extra money they don't care. They don't care if you miss work a doctor's appointment your parents funeral it doesn't matter what matters to them is that they make it hard on you to blow and if you owe them $1 Yes they're gonna make you go into a lockout where you have to pay it off right then..... Equipment never works it's so hard to blow and make it a good blow where they'll accept it it's almost impossible perit's impossible. I blow so much that I get lightheaded get lightheaded. I blow so much I can't even think about anything else but blowing while I'm in the car. It is completely miserable and the driving experience is miserable because all you have to do is hear that thing beep Beat beat on and off off on and off over and over and over the whole time you're driving..... Do it wrong they're gonna lock you out and you're gonna have to pay extra money and have your car towed every time. Horrible customer service the tube you're supposed to blow into comes loose.I was locked because it went off while I was driving on the freeway.The mouth piece fell onto the floor and I was not able to get to it safely.I told the customer service agent this and I was told that I should have tired to pick it up off the floor.So I asked if I should risk getting into a collision to do so I was told yes.Another time it went off the car was at the mechanic's and had the tires off.I was told to have it towed to the service center.I asked how that was possible with the tires off.I was told to figure it out.The customer service agents have horrible English and many times I have a hard time understanding what they are saying.When I ask to be transferred to a supervisor I am asked why.It should be my right to ask to speak to a supervisor.I recommend to all potential customers of the company find some other company because this one is horrible.It's like a scam to keep getting money from you from lock ours that are beyond our control. read more

Unfortunately, I'm no stranger to DUI's. I've had interlocks installed in my car before and I have never had trouble with them the way I am having dealing with Intoxalock. First, I made an appointment to get a device before I had the car I was getting. This meant I didn't have the VIN for the car, which the sales associate on the phone told me would be no problem. Once I had the car, I admit, I forgot to call to give the VIN number. However, I had to call twice to reschedule the appointment (due to the date of me getting a car changing) and at no point did an associate remind me I needed my VIN, and though i can bare part of the blame on that, it is pretty terrible customer service to have to change an appointment twice and not review the account info or anything. So the day I got my device, I did not have the required DMV form for licensing, which I found at AT the DMV. So I immediately call Intoxalock and get transferred to their call center. Most of the associates spoke with an accent, so I assume it is a callcenter based out of Asia. Anyway, the day I call to ask about the form, I give them my VIN number and they say that they will send the form right away, overnight shipping. This is on a Tuesday. I call two days later on a Thursday, and they tell me the form had not been shipped and it would be sent the following day (Friday). They have no reason why and they refuse to let me talk with a supervisor. I call Saturday and they assure me I will be getting it Monday. Today is that Monday, and there is no form. I called twice, one guy gave me a tracking number, but it didn't work, so I called again and the next guy I spoke to couldn't verify my tracking number, but he assured me I'd be getting it tomorrow. I've had the dumb device in my car for almost a week, I'm all paid up, and cannot drive because I haven't been given the form. They have not made any attempt to rectify this mistake or compensate the inconvenience. Their customer service is non existent and they're making something that's already hugely inconvenient even more so. Also, their device is clunky, larger than a classic Gameboy. It has a button you have to press and requires a blow, suck, blow pattern that is probably not the easiest thing to do while driving. If you have a DUI and have to get an Interlock, don't make another mistake and go with Intoxalock. My vehicle was disabled due to cracked engine block. Got court order stating I could remove the device. Being I could not take my vehicle to have removed and no mobile service in my area I removed myself. Now they will not let me return the device. So i guess I will be paying them for the rest of my life. I did havve one customer service rep. say she would send me a return label but that never happen. Do not use this company. read more

Customer service is an absolute joke. 'maybe you'll be locked out of your car, maybe you won't? Just drink water, cause I can't tell you if you'll be locked out next attempt'. Customer service has zero knowledge of their, one, and only, very simple, product. Was told completely wrong information about device and fees when I called customer service to ask questions. If you get one, good luck. They also screwed my paperwork up, so now I have the pleasure of driving all the way back down (a few town's over) to get my new copy of the paperwork, that *hopefully* isn't screwed up. This company does not care about customer satisfactuon. my vehicle has been in the shop 6 weeks due to a wreck i was not at fault for, having this device has complicated the shops work and more than doubled the amount of shop time this has taken. Intoxalock claims they have no remote access to their devices to be able to put the device in a maintenance mode. this has complicated the work on my vehicle AND costed me extra money .. this is ridiculous. read more

After reading SO many bad reviews, I immediately called to cancel my service and the appointment I had scheduled to have an Intoxalock device installed. The agent told me I'd receive a call the next day and I never heard from anyone. Then I received an email that I was charged a $50 no show fee... not only for an appointment that I cancelled but one that was on A DAY THAT HADN'T EVEN COME YET. The appointment was on a Friday and I was charged the Wednesday prior after cancelling on Tuesday. The company number brings you to representatives who can't even help you and just tell you they'll transfer you to their customer service department. Sure, they can charge you when you set up the service but when it comes to refunds and other financial issues they can't do that for you. I will say though that the initial representatives I spoke with -- Lorena and Kim -- were very kind and helpful. I spent a good 5-10 minutes on hold but finally got through. I genuinely don't blame the agents/reps because they seemed as bothered and confused as I was but almost like it wasn't surprising. Something fishy is up with this company. It took the customer service rep (James) an oddly long amount of time just to review my information just for him to further transfer me to ANOTHER department. I think they expect and hope that people will hang up if left on hold long enough but I did not. Their online contact form doesn't even work either. They dodge conflict and disputes at all costs, pun intended. Long story short (and an hour on the phone for a simple charge dispute without actually speaking to someone who was able to help me), I finally spoke with someone who told me that they charge the No Show fee if you cancel the appointment. I said I would pay to have the equipment shipped back and asked to be refunded the remaining balance. The first agent told me that'd be fine then the next one said no. Told them to keep their $50 and remove my payment information immediately because I don't trust them. She even had the nerve to say to me "I can email you the lease contract with this policy stated in it if you'd like". I said "I didn't sign any contract or lease so that's irrelevant". Insanely incompetent customer service, shady company, money vultures, trapping and scamming policies they don't tell you about until after the issue occurs. Update: I just received a call today Friday 7/8, the day my appointment was scheduled that I cancelled, from the facility that was supposed to install the device, telling me I missed my appointment. So on top of everything else mentioned above, IntoxaLock did not even cancel my appointment despite my request to do so and their confirmation that they did cancel it. I wish I was surprised. read more

I truly wish I had read the reviews before I used this company. Now I feel grateful that I am not having as many issues as some people have had but Intoxalock is charging me monthly fees for a black case for the unit which I don't need and roadside assistance which I don't need. I literally never drive the car because of the unit going off causing safety hazards driving down the interstate having to retest constantly. It sits in my garage and I am still getting charges added to my bill and I have sent emails, chatted with an agent and forget about getting someone on the phone. You are just stuck paying whatever they tell you in order to be in compliance with the court order and they are literally doing whatever they want to. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. I HOPE YOU ARE SMARTER THAN I WAS AND READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. read more

Is this even real life? I can't express how awful the customer service is. Don't get me started on what the device malfunctioning cost me, because they said my car was the issue. And sorting it out after the shop diagnosed it as a faulty system. That has been a joke. Going on two weeks now and you better believe they took their payment despite canceling my account due to tampering (while reported under maintenance and at the shop) and now say they just can't fix it. The shop needs it unlocked and they need to send a whole new one. But the shop has them on hand. Maybe I'm crazy, but that makes no sense to me... I wish I could just take it out. read more

After spending almost every penny I had installing the device intoxolock called me a week later and told me that they had installed the wrong device. Also expected me to pay the $300 for uninstalation and reinstall of the correct device not happy at all. I should have read the reveiws first. read more

For the love of God, run. Find ANY interlock supplier but this one. Getting set up is easy! There are gobs of representatives ready to assist with that but have fun talking to an actual human if you ever have an issue in future. On the off chance you DO make contact with (lol) "intelligent" life, you will receive a one-size-fits-all resolution to your problem that, 9 times out of 10, will involve you paying some obscene fee. And yes, you will have 10 or more issues if you decide to use Intoxalock. Hop on to any thread about this company and you will see post after post about car batteries, new and old, being drained after installing their system. A dead battery results in a "Violation 40 lockout", which goes on your report as tampering with your device. If you, like me, live in a state that prohibits a remote reset of your device, you must visit your service station with 7 days and pay $75 to for a reset or they will disable your vehicle and you will have to have it towed. Horrible customer service. I was not able to drive for a month due to having surgery so I missed my calibration date. So I call customer service and get into it with this Indian lady who hardly spoke any English. When asked to transfer me to somebody who spoke better English her response was "I Am speaking English" "I don't have an accent". Basically they told me it's my problem there's nothing that could've been done to prevent a lockout. Their equipment is faulty, customer service is horrible, and their app interface is ridiculous. read more

Horrible company, zero customer service, 100% scam!!! P not use them. Over $400 in fees firs month. They are extortionists, the unit asked for a test for unlocking the door and they will NOT WORK WITH YOU. fee after fee after fee. I'm calling an attorney, I've had enough. Have been dealing with these guys since March, 2022. I have sent in the requested documentation now 4 times; each time being asked to allow up to 4 weeks for the info to be processed. Called twice today, placed on hold for greater than 30 minutes each time.. was transfered (unbeknownst to me) to Brandy, who told me process should only take 3-5 business days. Brandy did seem helpful and reliable, but considering the absolute bullshit I've been fed thus far has me incredibly doubtful and aggravated. If I could give this place 0 stars I would read more

I am aware, that I messed up first and foremost by getting into trouble by driving under the influence in the first place. Nothing good can come from this. For the sake of this review however I'd rather discuss the many downsides of this company of scammers. One of those unfortunate events you'll find yourself coming across is the interlock system installed in your vehicle. When this occurs... DO NOT use Intoxalock for your service provider. I can not stress enough baffled I am as to how this company of liars and theives can operate a business equivalent to calling a bank robber a good branch of banking service. I'd rate them in the negative numbers if I could! Let's get started: Upon agreeing with the terms of service associated with intoxalock, you will be given a brick sized device that you have to pay for to get installed as well as recalibrated in what they tell you is monthly. Instead of monthly the screen on the device will read violation and give you a lockdown every two weeks. This is of course when you didn't violate anything other than having a faulty device. If you do not drive your vehicle to place that installed the device to have the lockdown warning removed, your vehicle WILL NOT START! They give you an app which they'll tell you to install in order to "avoid lockouts" which is completely useless but you can call them right? After waiting on the phone, for an hour on a good day if you choose to call them and from what I've read from other reviews and YouTube complaints, additional fees added to your account by just calling. So, here's where the scam starts: The first calls will have you on the phone with a clear spoken person. They'll tell you they will look into the problem and then "beat around the bush" leaving you no choice but to pay for an extra calibration every month. The lockout fee set was at 75 dollars which they doubled and tripled costing around 225 everytime. You remember me telling you how it cost money to have the device simply in your car? Expect that to be added two and three times added to your credit card bill as well. If you have this device in your car for a year, you could be spending close to 3000 dollars in additional fees. "Run wire" is a reading that comes up often on the handheld device. If you ask your service station about this, they'll tell you Intoxalock is in the wrong, if you ask Intoxalock, the service station is the one who is incorrect. The most likely answer is that they're both in on the scam because you'll be given an additional fee at the service station anyway. If you are confused yet by the amount of money you have already spent, you shouldn't be as you are reading this correctly. Anyway, back to the phone calls. I forgot to mention the lack of communication they will have with the court system. So if you are on probation, need to contact or look at your status provided by the DMV, DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as this company fails to provide this information to them! After they overcharge you constantly, then the service provider bills you too. Once they have you on the additional payments, expect the caller on the other line (English is my first language) to be a caller from outside of the United States. Other reviews I've read on people who have Spanish as their first language have similar complaints. In addition you will again be put on a "wild goose chase" in order to provide information they pretend to care about, only to take more of your money. One of the times I called, a guy on the other line was playing with his dog, borderline, ignoring what I was saying. Additional complaints that are frequently addressed that I myself didn't encounter but am in way surprised of include: 1. The device draining the battery of the vehicle 2. The newer cars unable to use the ignition because of the device. I was however told, I needed a new starter in my car when the frequent problem was either the wire, the device or a combination of both. 3. Falsifying car breakdowns. It should be noted however, that you must call your interlock service provider in case of breakdown and vehicle maintenance. It would also be nice if that information was given to you. 4. False samples (this one I see as a bit more understandable (mouthwash, certain foods etc.) But a false sample by a defective device seems to be moreso the common complaint. To end this long review not only should Intoxalock receive a lawsuit against them for the scam that they are, it should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. For quality of service, just take a look at their ratings. read more

Sooo, in this latest episode of "how can intoxalock make your day worse!" I shut my car off and went into a store to pick up a few things. Never once heard the device make a noise. Was in the store for a half hour and came back out to find that my device was in a lockout. I call the company, they say I'm in a lockout due to not blowing for the retest. Funny, my vehicle was turned off and I was inside the store when they say the retest went off. Even have pics from inside the store at the same time it was supposedly going off about a retest. I call the company, they say I had to have left my car running when it went off for a retest. Guess they don't realize that gas is too expensive right now to leave the car running. Now, I have had that device for over 2.5 years now and have never had a lockout for failing to retest or having alcohol in my system, I think I know how it works. Now I'm all the sudden being told that I have to wait for 2-3 minutes after shutting off my vehicle. I have never once been told that in the entire time I have had this garbage in my vehicle. Oh, I called a day later and the next agent I spoke with said that she was going to do an investigation and get back to me within 24 hours. That was Monday, 2 days ago. Btw, I have a camera in my vehicle and the lady told me that she could check the video to see if I had shut off and exited the vehicle before the restest went off. Plus, looking at the bill, it's not a $75 fee, it's an $80 fee. Think I'm gonna have to my lawyer in on this one. Intoxalock, ya'll have gotten enough of my damn money and if there was another company within 50 miles, I would drop your sorry company. Thank God I should only have a couple of months left with this crap! read more

. Overall this experience with Intoxalock has been AWFUL! -10/10 I DO NOT recommend this company. It's extremely difficult to get a hold of an actual person. They want you to use the app they provide WHICH doesn't even allow you to request a work order for calibrations through it. You have to go to the actual site and request them. I live an hour away from where I work so to have my vehicle good to go is an NEED. Friday my box just decided to crap the bed & need to be replaced. Intoxalock said bc it wasn't my fault they'd pay for the tow to the shop & back to wherever I needed it. I had to call their roadside assistance & roadside proceeded to tell me it only covers 15 miles so I had to pay the extra 17 miles each way. They tow it to the service center which by the time it got there they were closed & didn't open again till Monday. I call Intoxalock back telling them this & they continue to tell me it will be done Saturday even though the SERVICE CENTER ISNT OPEN TILL MONDAY. So I call Saturday just to check & NO ONE IS THERE, shocker. Monday I call the garage (meanwhile again I live an hour away from work & work Friday - Wednesday) they never received the part & don't have backups. So here I am Tuesday still waiting on a new box & customer service won't transfer me to a supervisor when I've asked SEVERAL times. After being on hold for 36 minutes waiting for a supervisor to talk to because I've been crashing on coworkers couches or UBERING an hour and back to work. THIS IS OUT OF HAND to say the least. They refuse to give me ANY paperwork on this situation showing what is going on so I can provide it to the courts. Save yourself more trouble & DO NOT use this company read more

They just charged me when I did not owe them any money. They just locked out my car for the third time claiming that I did not blow in time. The device says you have 4 minutes to blow and every 30 seconds it's beeping and saying that I did not blow in time. I was supposed to get it out March of 2020 and here we are February 2021. They called me and asked me if my car was my daily driver I answered yes and they said my machine is broke and they will fix it for free. Mean while they claim during the time it was broken I blew a .04 and they locked out my car. They just charged me $144.00 after I just paid them 630.00. I go to my car this morning to take my son to the dentist my car is locked out again. I call to ask why and they say I did not blow during a re-test. That's absolutely not true as I am extremely cautious sine the whole "machine is broken" incident and really really tired of them manipulating my machine. There is no way i missed a re-take the machine screams at me every time I don't blow hard enough and scream louder when If I miss a blow. This is complete insanity and beyond absurd. Now I have to pay for another tow truck to come out and take my car to get re-calibrated for the third time and pay them again on my dime. This is insanity and I need to find someone to help me because customer service is so rude and refuses to listen to the customer. At this point I think I may need a lawyer idk what else to do. If you like being financially raped then threatened with jail, Intoxilock is for you. The company needs to be shut down for fraud with a class action lawsuit and it is run by a bunch of crooks. The handheld is absolute garbage and goes off every 5 to 8 minutes screaming at you for another sample. It will shut down your engine without warning, with the alarm going off without a violation...it's really dangerous. When you call, they send you to Mumbai to a group of call center who are all con artists who don't speak English. I have had to buy a new battery, pay for false lockouts, and for service when it goes on the fritz through no fault of my own. They take no responsibility for their faulty product that is just as dangerous as drinking or texting while driving. They know damn well that they are the absolute worst company on earth and are proud of it. I have seriously have had thought of suicide so many times since this thing was installed. If you try and talk to someone in the courts about the criminal extortion they rely on for their shareholders] you are laughed at. There customer service is terrible. They just hang up on You. There equipment is old and runs your car. The tops falls off the machine and rolls under seats in the middle of machine going off. Truly extremely unsafe i Have almost got into so many accidents. They automatically charge you a 5.95 monthly protection plan fee. I have never signed anything to do with this. They refuse to refund me or take it off my plan. Complete crooks and the states should not allow how crooked they are. I had a Intoxalock representative talking to a DMV State person asking for something they needed and they were talking to them after the DMV State person and waited to get throw to a person took 30 mins and they were talking to him and I and since they didn't understand the sheet he was asking for they decided to hang up on them. They always hang up they don't understand English. The first person that sells you on this Intoxalock is from the US. After that good luck. I am uninstalling this device and going with another compan. DO NOT USE THIS fraudulent Company truly are Crooks. The states Minnesota and Wisconsin will here about this. I did my time. (5months), in regards to the device, the only complaint I have was draining my battery a couple of unexplained random times. Other than that, yes it was an inconvenience, but you get used of it. I drank and drove, and accept this "inconvenience" as It's better than killing someone. But with intoxalock, I feel extorted and now a hostage! First had to pay an extra month because they started billing me the day I gave them my information to get started, and yet to even have the device installed as my old car wasn't ready yet. Now I can't get a response on app or a live person, as I'm trying to get my device removed since my court order time has been up since a month ago. Nobody live is available except for the salesperson when you first sign up. The app is helpful, especially for taking your payment and scaring you with random warning signs now and then, reminding you a collaboration is due. But I have clicked on "DEVICES REMOVAL" for 5 weeks now and NOBODY has responded like their message says it will. The only notification I receive is my lease is about to expire again. I'm not paying or signing another lease until God or a lawyer appears and helps me get out of this kidnapping. read more

Horrible. Has a "rolling Lockout" was doing some monthly maitainance on my car. Checking fluids battery, etc... missed the time frame while checking the transmission fluid (car has to be running) was frantically blowing in the device would not take the "blow" time ran out and the lockout occurred. the device immediatly reset and within seconds i blew in it again and passed the test. tried to get them to reset without the fee...would not refund my $75. said i had already been given my " grace" reset (one that would be free), this one was due to my battery going dead....older vehicle (2007, no automatic turn off light device, left the lights on). I surely hope these people never experience any car trouble (battery dead), checking fluids etc.. and have to pay $75 bucks.....whatever happened to common courtesy (empathy) to people when they have the ability to check the camera and see you trying to "blow" (with the exact time to the second) then can see you blowing in it seconds later (on the camera) with the time(just seconds later with a pass. $$$$$$$$$$$ all bout the MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$ these people are NOT HUMAN!!!!!! read more

"Nightmare Experience with Intoxalock: Overpriced and Unhelpful" I can't express how disappointed I am with Intoxalock's services. The exorbitant prices alone would make anyone reconsider, but the real horror lies in the abysmal customer service. Dealing with their automated answering service is a labyrinth, forcing customers to play a guessing game just to talk to someone. And when you finally do, they apologize profusely but offer no solutions. The random lockouts are infuriating, triggered by minor issues like a slightly moved camera. It's absurd that such trivial matters result in being stranded. What's worse is that their team, despite understanding the frustration, refuses to take any meaningful action. Requests for refunds or transfers to supervisors are met with a firm "no," leaving customers feeling trapped in a service that cares more about extracting money than providing a reliable and reasonable experience. Do NOT use these crooks! Owned and/or operated by lawyers who specialize in breaking up American companies for foreign profit! The former president, now an "outside consultant" still has valid ties to Chinese interests! Avoid these parasites at all costs. They have absolutely no values, morals, or ethics. I sincerely wish I would have read these reviews before allowing them to install an IID in my mother's vehicle. The original service center who installed it totally botched the job. Shotty wiring held together loosely by tape. The faulty wiring killed the battery in a brand new vehicle. We're lucky it didn't start the car on fire. We had to pay $400 to the mechanics to fix the wiring. A new IID can't even be installed without a complete rewiring...that's how bad the installers messed it up. As everyone else says, it's a pain in the @$$ to get ahold of their customer service. Multiple calls lasting 45+ minutes. They just bounce you around until they eventually hang up. So frustrating! They will not reimburse for the damage caused during installation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!! read more

I had this company over 3 years ago and my car got locked out in the middle of my driveway because of a dead battery so I called them they said I was going to have to have my car towed to have it calibrated again this was not the first time I had problems with them had problems since day one with over billing and the equipment so that day I told them I want it out of my car so had to pay the company to come to my house and remove it costed me $375. These are the WORST PEOPLE to deal with!!!! The Customer service center reps are SO RUDE and talk down to you, like your a dirty criminal. They made me jump through so many hoops to even remove the Intoxalock from my car. I had it set up voluntarily, but they said I needed authorization from my probation officer, which I DON NOT HAVE. This morning I was trying to set up an appointment to get my interlock device off after 2 years, and I spoke with somebody on the phone around 8:30 AM, they said it was all taken care of... However it wasn't... I called back this afternoon, and a wonderful person by the name of Kenya Holloway answered, and from then on took care of everything I needed to accomplish. She was so nice, and did everything she needed to do to make my experience go perfectly. Zero stars. This company is here to steal your money. The intoxilock drains your battery. The device malfunctioned and left me stranded on Thanksgiving. I've already violated 3 times and all were bs. Don't eat pizza and drive. I got a violation 11 for no reason and talked to 4 different people and they didn't resolve it. They tried to say I started my car without blowing into my machine. That's impossible. Then they tried to say I stepped on my brake pedal. That's a violation? What's that have to do with drinking a driving? These people are crooks and you'll be stuck with these devices for life after they just keep finding ways to violate you. read more

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, At 1st it was fine, my truck just had a new engine installed and it died starting last week, so apparently in the middle of Corona virus, no work, no food, no money, they are charging me$75 for a "lock out" and another $35 to the shop recalibrating it. This is a HORRIBLE company, go with any ANY other breathalyzer company, just not this one. They will over charge all the time and you're forced to pay it. I would rather go through criminal court 10x over than have had this machine on my car for even five minutes. P.S. they'll tell you that it doesn't hurt your car. Prepare for new batteries left and right. Short circuiting of all of your electrical systems.
