He seemed kind of strange but knowledgeable and I was desperate for a primary care. Oh by the way- Dr. James Merlin Hawk originally practiced medicine in San Bernardino CA and had his California license revoked. How he ended up in Harrison Arkansas I have no idea. He also apparently ran a pain clinic- of which I was not a part of. Anyway- one day my late husband and I were at his office in a exam room waiting for Dr. Hawk to appear for my appointment. A hour went by. Now this is a tiny funky dink kkk ran town with a population of about 12,000 " people" My husband was a cigarette smoker and began to get antsy and wanted to go out and have a cigarette. Ever since the whole "opioid crisis" scare I have been without any real and lasting relief even post fusion op. Finally I was able to get another pain management appoint in the hopes that I would find some relief until the spine surgeon can figure out what is going on. So I landed at camp. Imagine my surprise when once again I am greeted with the whole guinea pig process all over again even after I made clear that I was not going to go through all the same hoops. The only positive feedback I can give about Camp is that the staff is friendly but the doc seemed to not take into account all the guinea pig tests that I had already been through. If you are a chronic pain veteran and are seeking relief without having to repeat the guinea pig process all over again, I honestly cannot recommend this place. Sorry but it seems in today's society there are fewer and fewer doctors that listen to their patients and certainly not those that are well educated in what they are dealing and have dealt with for more than a decade.
