I understand that they are a small bank but they are missing key factors that people look for in a bank nowadays, like identity protection. I also travel a lot and whenever I would leave the state my card wouldn't work. I wouldn't recommend them. If you're looking for a credit union I would recommend Teachers.

As far as the bank itself (nationally), in almost three years of being their customer, I've only had one bad experience. I like that I've been able to seamlessly do my banking in three different states without any hangups. They are open every day except Christmas and have evening hours (until 6 or 7pm at every branch on weekdays.) For the convenience factor they are great. The online systems work well, and when I had an offshore fradulent charge show up on my account, their security department was very efficient in helping me clear that up. I like this bank. Other banks have sent me flyers offering bonuses for opening accounts, some other South Bend banks are 10-15 minutes closer to my house, and there is no "prestige" banking inside a Walmart, but I am staying with Woodforest. They have earned my business time and time again.

Manager on duty is extremely rude. I've been here multiple…read moretimes before to get change because they are the only bank open on Sunday they're always rude but today topped it. She (the manager)had a look of disgust on her face as she talked to me. I'm sorry but racism? Because when she turned to help the white lady next to me she was all smiles and kind as the lady wanted her checks cashed. Excuse me? You just told me you didn't have any cash because you hadn't gotten a delivery. The teller was just as rude, I'm guessing training involves the "do as I do" Method. Obviously the on boarding process doesn't cover how to treat a client. I'm still debating taking this matter above the branch manager.

I would rate the service and advice that received from Mike at 5 stars, but the way that he…read moresuddenly and with NO NOTICE NOR ANY EXPLANATION dismissed us from the practice I am only giving it 1 star. We had complete confidence in Mike and were expecting to have a long term relationship with this company providing us with financial advice. Instead, out of nowhere, Mike told us at the end of one meeting that neither he nor anyone else at the firm could provide services to us. So just like that we were left with no financial advisor!! For that reason I would suggest not getting involved with this firm -- you never know if they are going to spontaneously decide they no longer want your business.

I've used Korhorn for 15 years and received excellent service... until now. This year, they wanted…read moreto more than double their fee, charging me their corporate rate. I'm NOT a corporation. In addition, they wanted to file extension because I was "late" getting my information to them. I get final reports from my investments at the end of March every year, and it has never been an issue before. In addition, they wanted to have a different accountant prepare my taxes, as opposed to the person I've used all these years. Also, they are no longer allowing in-person meetings. I was to submit my information and pick it up my returns when notified. Korhorn claim they've been undercharging for many years. As they are financial planners, this doesn't reflect well their abilities. And it should be clear, I understand raising fees, but not more than doubling them. They told me I wouldn't be able to find anyone to do it cheaper. I not only found a firm that charges a reasonable price -- they prepared my taxes without filing an extension. I'm disappointed in Korhorn, and I feel they could have handled this better. They've lost my business and I've lost my confidence in them. This is my experience and my opinion only.
