Ah James, the internet isn't THAT slow here (almost, but not quite!)
I spent a lot of time here when I first arrived in Dublin. As sad as it is, this place became a bit of a second home to me... the staff got to recognise me, and even to know what time of day or night I might be expected to arrive in-store.
I sent off hundreds of job applications from the screens of these computers, while at the same time sifting through rental properties and trying to keep in touch with friends and family back home.
However, I will never forget the day i was turned off this internet cafe (and internet cafes in general) forever. I was particularly stressed and a little distraught at the lack of jobs on offer, and in some last-ditch effort was applying for one of those con 'promo sales, door-to-door' style jobs (you know you've reached rock bottom when you start applying for them!) when suddenly the guy at the computer next to me started making questionable, and rather disturbing noises.
I ignored him for as long as I could, but eventually curiosity got the better of me and I just had to see what the fuss was about. I took a quick look over his shoulder and am now scarred for life.
Needless to say I hot-footed it out of there and set about buying myself a laptop. But as far as internet cafes go, this one's pretty decent.
Great value too - they used to have an offer of 15 hours' internet access for 10 euro - pretty decent! read more
