This is a place that is fun for all ages, but especially those with younger children…read more The website claims they have more than 300 animals. I don't doubt that number, but it does make the park seem a little larger than it actually is. It is the type of place you can walk through quickly and be there for less than an hour or you can take you time, interact with a variety of animals and spend quite a bit of time. They have a lot of farm type animals (goats, horses, donkey, llama), a variety of different monkeys, camels, deer, fennec fox and even slots! The slots are inside an area on one side of the gift shop that also has the snakes and reptiles. And an axolotl. Admission gets you in to the park, but you can pay more for feed to have better interaction with the animals. They even have bottle feeding for the goats at certain times of the year! Overall, the park is well maintained. I do wish some of the animals had better/more space to run around. A fun place to spend some time if you like being close to animals.

This Zoo/Animal Park is a good place to entertain and educate kids. It's perhaps a little kitschy…read moreas it is a bit reminiscent of seventies vacation activities I experienced as a kid. But generally it is what it purports to be, and that's fine. There are a few "non-pettable" animals such as a tiger, camels, wolves, primates, brown bears, etc. In fact, one of our highlights was the sight of a baby camel still learning to walk. But about half the park is comprised of farm animals. Feeds can be purchased in the office and the portion given is plentiful. The carrots and dry feed were more than enough to last for our visit. This is a great chance for the kids to get outside for a while on a nice weather day. They can see, touch and feed quite a few animals including bovine, goats, llamas, sheep, rabbits and others. There is even a small play area for a change of pace. The admission prices are reasonable by today's standards ($18.50 adults, $16.50 seniors and $15.50 age 3 - 11, under 3 free). Im general, it's a nice day out for the kids.

I absolutely love Keystone! I feel like it is bit of a "choose your own adventure" zoo because…read morethere are so many different ways to experience the park. There is the standard walk through admission. You get a general admission and can pay a nominal fee for feed to feed animals like reindeer and giraffes. This is the most affordable option and you do get to see and experience a nice variety of animals! The highlight for me will always be the giraffes. I love that you can get so close to so many of the awesome animals. It makes it a perfect place for younger kids who might feel disengaged from the Pittsburgh Zoo because the animals can be so far away. You can purchase a safari truck ride. This hour(ish) experience drives you through the portion of the park that you can't walk through and gets you the opportunity to see larger animals like highland cows, water buffalo, bison, elk, camel etc. You can feed several of the animals and they will get right up close to the wagon! You can also do a drive through safari in your own car. They also offer a variety of animal encounters. I've done the sloth encounter which was incredible! You (understandably so) don't get to hold them, but you get to feed and interact with them! They also have encounters with animals like the giant ant eaters and their giraffe calves. If you are an animal lover, totally worth the splurge. They also have an "adventure" component of the park - a ropes course with different courses depending on age and height. It adds to the cost of your visit, but if you have an adventure loving crew, it is a fun activity. The park itself is very well maintained and you can tell that the staff really enjoy their jobs and love the animals. If you are an animal lover, or if you are just looking for a unique place to visit, definitely give Keystone a try!
