Could've been one of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given, but the owner decided to absolutely ruin…read morethat for himself by flying off the handle and screaming at me, treating me as if I were trying to physically attack him. Went with my partner to buy her a new helmet, as we were to ski Whiteface on New Year's Eve, the next day. The staff was kind, helpful, and even gave us what we thought to be a miraculous deal on a great helmet, due to an error in pricing (spoiler alert, this was not a miraculous deal or a great helmet). The owner was even in with his dog, we had a wonderful experience all around and they accommodated us even coming in right before close. We even ran into the owner down the street and he gave us a little something for the mountain! However, the next morning, when it came time to go to the mountain, she opens the box and this is not the same helmet as the floor model. This one won't even fit on her head! When we called, the worker (not present in the store when we were there) owned up to the mistake and said that if we wanted to return the helmet we could, or do an exchange. I stayed an extra day where we were in order to be able to swing by the store on the next day they were open (closed New Years Day). I get there with the helmet, and am informed that I cannot return any merchandise without the tags attached as per store policy - TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE, especially given the nature of the store - no one wants a "new" helmet that's been worn! What I do NOT understand, is why the OWNER (the only one in the store), IMMEDIATELY escalated the situation and started screaming at me, cursing me out about "what the fuck am I supposed to do about this, you owe me $30 for the helmet you got, I wasn't there for the transaction so it's not my fucking fault, I'm done with this conversation." Keep in mind, we did not want this more expensive helmet - it was the wrong helmet, and DID NOT FIT, we simply wanted a resolution where some accountability was taken. This escalates to the point where he is threatening to call the police if I don't leave, saying that I am harassing him. I am given the option to trade the helmet we received for the one she tried on in the store, which we then, of course, find out doesn't have the proper safety features that one would think you would at least CONSIDER to mention to a potential customer. This back and forth continues, with me never raising my voice but being constantly berated. After a discussion with my partner, we decide to just take the less safe but actually fitting helmet. At this point he tried to redeem himself by saying "oh since I can't sell this I'm gonna donate this to someone who needs it, like a kid or something" but I call BS. Maybe he'll just yell at the kid about how he's poor and THEN give it to him. If you don't want to be screamed at, cussed out and talked down to, I'd recommend making sure you got EXACTLY what you want from here, or as I would recommend, never coming in the first place. Props to the employees for being kind and helpful though! Maybe just make sure you tell customers that there are safety features that they should consider, or work for someone who isn't a complete head case with serious anger management issues :)

I was emailed by the manufacturer when it came in, so I went the following morning to get a look at the bike and pick out the accessories that I was going to buy and have them put on. The man was miserable right from the very start. After the fourth rotten comment I said something and then he started yelling and the whole situation escalated. After reading the other reviews I see this is a common occurrence. Following this I went to Viking ski and bicycle shop to find an e-mountain bike for my wife. They had several in stock to chose from and encouraged us to try several out. She picked one and the whole experience was a great one

The selection of turkey decoys alone is remarkable. I have never seen so many turkey decoys together in one place in my life! The store is nicely laid out and it's pretty easy to find things once you arrive in the section for your preferred activity. So, why only three stars? The prices are insane. I was browsing hiking skirts and dresses. I saw a skirt on liquidation that I thought was cute and was oh this is probably like $10. NO, try $70! Every single dress I was interested in cost $100 or more. Granted they were nice brands like Prana but still. You can get very comparable stuff online or lower priced retailers like Marshalls or Walmart. Kind of fun to browse and I'd recommend going just to see the selection but my bf and I both walked out of this store with nothing. Prices way too high!

They did seem to have a good sale going on for a lot of stuff but I don't see why I wouldn't check elsewhere first. 2- they had so many employees (and very helpful, which yes, excellent customer service I'll give them that), but when we asked specifically about barbless hooks for fishing and for hooks made without lead (as we recently discovered most fishing hooks and lures do still contain lead --- i know-- wtf is that about?? But that's a whole notha can of worms, pun intended) ...anywoot when we asked about those things their staff, though very nice, was not aware that their hooks did in fact contain lead and while trying to be helpful recommended us a brand of hook that "contains chemicals know to cause cancer to the state of California" as per the package. So yah I guess I was just expecting more and it wasn't all that. We left without anything we were looking for. I would go back to enjoy their endless selection of lures and bait and such in the fishing section but it's a bit overwhelming I don't know if I'd be more inclined to actually spend money here.

With this place being the only possible spot in town to carry them, I rolled the dice, stopped in, and became pleasantly surprised when there was not just one, but two options. The price was also "marked down" 50% on both so what would have been a $120 pair cost me only $60. They also had sizes 11.5 and 12 in both. Another surprise. The only thing they didn't have was a pair of nylon socks, so I rolled the dice again and took a dirty, likely germ-infested sock from the used sock box and hoped to leave without getting plantar warts or else some other unrecognizable fungus. Three days later and I haven't had to visit either the podiatrist or dermatologist. Before entering the store, I got distracted by the sales rack and ended up picking up a $10 t-shirt and a $32 pair of running shorts inside (not on sale). The cashier/manager told me he could save me 20% on my total at the counter by simply providing my name and address. Not my email address, which would have likely resulted in me getting bombarded with unwanted spam, but my physical address. Easy enough. My total came to just under $90 and I left one happy shopper.
