I went to their event in Richmond BC, at the Sandman Hotel on Feb. 15/26. There were two individuals working. I had a large amount of gold, jewelry and coins that I was looking to sell. One ring that I had was previously appraised for insurance purposes, so that was the only item that I had a good idea what it was worth. I presented this as the first item, to get an idea if they were going to try and low ball me on the rest of my items. I handed them the ring and was asked if I had an appraisal, which I answered yes, and they asked me if they could see it, while studying the ring. I replied that I would like to know what they would offer me first. They replied that there was important information on the appraisal that they needed to know first. I asked them what they would offer me if I didn't have the appraisal. They quickly dropped the ring on the table and curtly said "I'm not interested." I picked up my ring and my bag with the rest of my items and got up to leave. As I walked out the door I said "Well that just tells me that you're trying to rip me off." A second person, that had not been dealing with, aggressively asked "What did you say?" I replied "You heard me, would you like to do something about it?" They then made an aggressive posture and said "Why don't you come back in here." Not wishing to escalate things any further I decided to leave. I guess I should have checked the reviews first, and saved myself the time and gas money I wasted to get there, as they are clearly not rated well. I've seen reviews noting that they are aggressive (can attest to that) and that they prey on the elderly and people that don't know what their items are worth. I get that they are not going to give you the full value for your items as they need to make money as well. Pawn shops run on the same type of business model, but most do it reputably. I guess when you are a travelling show (two days only!!), like these guys, you don't have to worry about people coming back to complain about getting shafted. Folks BEWARE I am not HAPPY with these scam artists, It's entirely my fault, i didn't do my homework as I should have and got royally ripped off, I sold 18K gold jewelry and 14K gold jewelry, They don't show you the weight scale as they weigh the jewelry and I didn't ask to see it so I basically took their word for the total weight, I only realized this later, They paid .68/c per gram for 18K They paid .45/c per gram for 14K This pricing is way to low, A real bunch of crooks/thieves Do I have any recourse now?? read more

Unfortunately they do not show you the scale for weight, and I know I was jipped but was in a bit of hurry, so let it go and took the deal. They are not reliable anymore they used to have a certain measure of integrity years ago. Beware especially older people. My daughter and I went to their kiosk and the guy we talked with was extremely arrogant. He made us feel that we weren't good enough to be even talking to him. We had several items each and without saying anything he literally tossed our belongings back to us one at a time. That was the few things he even looked at. The rest he wouldn't even acknowledge. We had very old bills,coins,toys and jewellery and he offered me $25.00 for.gold items which I refused as I know it's worth alot more than that. There was no goodbye or even have a nice day. Will never go anywhere near those people again. I know the Road show will come through town and will go see them and have someone that is actually happy to look at our items and likes his job. Sold one of my dads hockey cards after walking over to a local rec center, I played myself because I could of easily ebay'd the value. I received $15 for a 1971 ken dryden which goes for 250 easy with a pin hole in it. Their advertising mentions highest price paid but they don't specify to who. read more

The pricing on my junk gold was okay. It definitely was above average compared to local buyers. I could have sold for higher in Edmonton but I'm not going there for quite a while and I was better off selling to these guys than making a one-way, 3 hour trip specifically to sell my junk jewelry. The problem I had is they only were willing to pay 85 percent spot on gold bullion. Now I get it that they don't retail the bullion they buy but that is some parasitic buying practices. They claim to pay more than anyone else but even the local pawn shops will pay 90 to 95 percent spot on bullion. read more

Pretty obvious it was a ladies watch. He then asked if it had a battery when the dial clearly showed that it was an automatic watch. After looking at the watch he offered me $100 for it. I had a recent appraisal from an Omega dealer for over $11,000 and did not expect to get anywhere near that, but $100...... I would give them a zero rating if it were possible. I stood up to check what he was doing and believe or not he had there a little scale, which was completely invisible for me or any other person in that matter. Went to one of their scheduled buying sessions in the Niagara area and was not impressed. The appraiser verified all of the gold and silver and also picked out 7 silver 1/2 dollars as well as 2 late 1800's collector coins from my collection and offered me $500. I told him that I thought it was worth way more than that. He then offered me $750. I felt that he wasn't being very honest of forthcoming with me as his scale was positioned below the table and out of my view. I chose not to sell my valuables so I collected them back up and left. The following week I took the gold and silver (no coins) across the border to a business in Buffalo NY and after verification they immediately offered me $1125 US minus their 10% profit margin. Needless to say I left their knowing that the International Auction people are only there to cheat people and they should be avoided at all costs. If I could give zero I would. Lied about the value of a coin, we then called them out on the lie. Then pretended they misunderstood and corrected themselves with a new value. When I pointed out that online the value was above what they were offering they snapped back that they need to make money too. We settled on a price that was far below market value. Do not go in uneducated. You will be taken advantage of absolutely. Do your research, trust your instinct. This service is not in your best interest. The appraiser was extremely rude and impatient with me. I came with my collection of stamps that was passed down to me. He took one look at the first page and told me he could not accept them because they are Russian stamps and I tried to explain that I had Canadian stamps as well in the collection and I asked if he can help me identify which ones are Canadian and if they are worth anything. He kept rolling his eyes, shrugging his shoulders and gave me a lot of attitude while saying that the line is long and that it was pointless to even take a look. The expert hid the scale so I couldn't see the weight. It was far less than what I thought it would be. When he gave me the random number I agreed but now I am sorry. Went to an International Auction purchasing event today to be treat extremely unprofessionally. Before going to the event I had researched the value of my old rare coins so I knew what was a reasonable purchase price. The coin advertisement indicated they pay up to $51 per gram (I assume that was for gold) which is I understood to mean that they were paying only for the medal content of the coin and not the condition, age or rarity of the coin. When the purchaser offered only $2 for my 6 pre-1948 dimes (two of which were 1920 pre-confederation coins that were in mint condition) I indicated that must be the metal value of the coins. The purchaser then called me rude. Then when I questioned her on the advertisement she started yelling how rude I was in front of everyone.
