There are lots of internet cafes in the Whitechapel area but after an hour bouncing around between them this was the only one we could find that would scan, photoshop and fax some documents for us. The staff were helpful and friendly. read more

An hour costs two pounds, but the glory of this place is that they give you a ticket and if you don't use up all of your time in the first sitting you can come back another time, use the code on your ticket and sign in again in the future whenever you please. Doesn't sound complicated at all does it? Well, if you're a chronic loser of things like I am then this situation doesn't work out too often. That receipt is guaranteed to be lost unless I superglue it to my forehead. This place also does Western Union transactions, has a copymachine service and sells tobacco and regular off licence items.

Not a booth style internet cafe, but dividers between each desk still ensure a level of privacy. I've used their services on different days and times and have either got to use a PC straightaway or just had a 10min wait (enough time to go and browse a few local shops and then pop back!). Monitors include access to a webcam. Screens and keyboards are kept in good condition and are fairly clean and tidy. There's a new-ish addition of a cafe at the back of the shop which you're welcomed to use if you have a short wait before a PC becomes available. I haven't used it yet, but it looks well kept and has a friendly, community feel to it. Good range of hot and cold drinks. The reception area offers a wide range of mobile accessories and parts. Perfect, if like me, you drop you mobile quite a lot and need to replace various broken parts! Again, reasonably priced products and good service. All round, a pleasant experience of my first internet cafe!

It has a purposefully rough-around-the-edges vibe with battered wooden tables and chairs scattered about in the rather large space allocated for the caf inside Foyles on its third floor. The windows overlooking Charing Cross Road offered customers opting to sit on the barstools at the counter that lined the windows an interesting view for people watching. The music was overly loud. My iced coffee was bitter and grounds-laden. And, I know I already mentioned, but I couldn't get my laptop to connect to the wifi - deal breaker. When I asked about it, I was told that 'sometimes people just can't connect'. Great. While I was a little upset about the lack of homemade Jaffa Cake, the vegan sandwich I got instead cheered me up a little. Overall, the food on offer could be categorised as 'hippie', and the tree-hugging, animal-loving part of me is willing to overlook the cafe's other failures for this.

The drinks menu is impressive with a full selection of coffee and tea drinks throughout the day, and a well-rounded cocktail menu for the evening drinkers. A simple selection of sandwiches and pastries are also available during the day. I can vouch for their turkey and cheese panini, as well as their lattes. Both are delicious and fairly-priced, despite being located in such a trendy spot for tourists and local workers, alike. As to the cocktails, I can't say much, though they do have discounted drinks- if you order 2 of the same one- after 5PM. And, honestly, I'm down with any place that has a good Espresso Martini on the menu. If you're going during the evening on the weekend, make sure you call ahead and make a reservation.
