The intercultural museum is currently showing an exhibit on Roma in Norway, a curious topic on a little-discussed part of Norwegian culture since there are only about 800 of them and there were only 60 when Norway established a special commission for dealing with them. Interactions between the state and the Roma are the focus of the small-ish exhibit, while Roma culture and history are only superficially discussed. There were some huh!-moments, but overall not a museum that made a deep impression on me. There are some placards in English, but a lot of the more in-depth material is only in Norwegian. Bottom line: It's free, and takes only about 45 minutes to see, so why not. read more
