SHAME ON INTERJET! DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS WITH THIS CROOKED COMPANY! I had booked a flight to Cancun from LAX in December of 2019 to fly out on the 25th of March 2020. I get a notice from Interjet 1 day before my flight that all international flights have been cancelled due to the Corona Virus. I went to change my flight to another date and they want to charge me 139 dollars each way since I did not make the change 24 hours prior to my flight?! How are they not going to honor my change when Interjet didn't even give myself a 24 hour notice!? So they are going to notify me on March 24,2020 about international flight cancellation and I try to adjust my flight on that same day and they want to charge me 139.00 each way for not changing 24 hours in advance?! I wasn't even asking for a refund! How is that even possible! You guys are absolute crooks and I will fight tooth and nail. I will take legal action if need be. It's not even about the money anymore. Disappointed with Interjet and their handling of the COVID-19 situation. I am an American, who will be walking over the CBX crossing into TIJ, than flying from TIJ to CAN for a vacation with my family. The US and Mexico border is NOW not allowing anyone to cross over to or from unless for essential travel. WE CANNOT ENTER MEXICO via the government to take our flight. Interjet's customer service representative was rude, curt, and short with me. She offered no solution to our issue. She refused to allow me to speak with a manager, or provide any details about what Interjet is doing about COVID. She would not issue me a refund. She said all I can do is pay the fee to change the date of my flight.. which I obviously CANNOT DO because we DO NOT KNOW the situation with COVID-19 and when we will be allowed to travel again. Worst experience in interjet airline Mexico. My flight was delayed approximately 5 hours from Tuxtla Gutierrez to Mexico City. Then, arriving to Mexico City, security informed us that our flight had been cancelled to Hermosillo. Therefore, we directed to seek help for cancelled flights, but the flight on the website was still showing that the flight was only delayed and not cancelled. Some people from my group went to get our luggage while others lined up for cancelled flights assistance. Then one of my group overheard that the flight had only been delayed. We run to the area where the flight was going to depart, and waited even longer. Important note, while waiting in the row of cancelled flights assistance, a strike of people was made and everyone complained of bad service since many people had been waiting for the flight for hours or even days. Even the Federal Consumer Attorney's Office suspended the interjet airline at the moment. I even had to see a lady who couldn't find her pet, and they didn't solve anything for her. Our bags are not yet found. Very bad experience for me and for all those people who went through this. read more

I think this airline is hit or miss. The main problem is delays. They use the southwest model where they try to turn around the plane immediately after landing, but if there is a delay, it can cause significant problems. I went form Tijuana to Mexico City, it was a few minutes late leaving, but pretty much arrived on time. The seats on the plane are not the best, seem kinda old. The snack provided is fine, you get a bottled drink and choice of chips. read more

Delays, delays and more delays. First flight was delayed about 4 hours, including two hours spent on a sweltering plane with minimal communication as to why we were just sitting there. Eventually, we were told it was a "mechanical issue," then told it was resolved, then told we had to switch planes after all. Return flight is already worse and we're not even on the plane yet. Midnight flight has been delayed--to 3:30am, then 3:45, then 4, now 5am with no explanations given. Airport is quiet given how late it is, so it definitely can't be airport logistics causing the delay. And even at this quiet time Interjet still couldn't manage to communicate a gate assignment until 3am, which defies logic and added to the confusion. Of course, no offer of restitution or compensation has been made, and I don't have the stomach to go through what other reviewers have in their attempts to get Interjet to do the right thing. Also can't afford to try and sleep because the flight time or status might suddenly change without warning, as many reviewers have apparently experienced. Of course, I'm also nervously hoping my checked bag actually makes it to the destination. You can only give an airline the benefit of the doubt for so long before they lose your trust forever. Air travel is stressful enough without having to stare into an abyss of incompetent and uncommunicative bureaucracy. I will never, ever fly Interjet again. Update: They've removed the flight from the general info boards, creating more confusion; they bizarrely switched the monitor at the gate to a San Francisco-bound flight while insisting that it's still the right gate for New York, creating more confusion; and *they now say the captain is missing in action*, which means the flight is indefinitely delayed. Meanwhile, not one of the workers manning a flight to New York speaks more than these two words of English: "No English." Asking the same questions in Spanish earns casual shrugs and silence. Our flight out of Tijuana International airport was delayed by 5 hours because of heavy fog. The electronic display boards said the flight was delayed, but some Interjet employees said it had been canceled. We were then told to leave the secure area and go out to the Interjet counter in the main terminal to get an alternate flight. We waited in line for another 30 minutes before being told that our flight was not canceled but delayed, and that it would leave 5 hours after the original departure. We did not hear any announcements of cancelations over the loudspeaker and the flight information electronic display boards kept saying it was delayed and even after getting the confirmation that the flight would leave 5 hours later than usual, the boards were not updated. We're not annoyed about the delay, it's a pain but it is not the fault of the airline. What really annoyed us was the lack of proper communication and the disorganization of Interjet. Now for our review of the airplanes. The leg room is very spacious, but the seats are uncomfortable. Many of the seats are missing air sickness bags and even a menu showing what can be ordered. The aircraft also doesn't have WiFi. The bathrooms have a holder for toilet seat paper covers but there are none. Most of the time the plane bathrooms were lacking hand soap, paper cups, and paper towels (This was the case even when I was the first person on the flight to use the bathrooms). The airline doesn't seem to clean the toilets, as they look and feel dirty. They won't allow people to switch seats and sit in priority seating even if the seats are empty. You get what you pay for. First off, the flight was hours late. They also give them the worse area of airports to park their planes. At the Mexico City airport they pick you up at the Main area and take you on a bus (shuttle) ride all the way back there behind some dumpsters where you board the plane, but wait they put fuel on the plane while everyone is on board already! After they board everyone in and they went to get fuel, then the plane goes into the ramps BUT they had to wait for ALL the major airlines to take off first, Aeromexico, American, Delta, Volaris all other major airlines were taking off and we sat there another 40 mins waiting. Finally i guess the airport got not so busy and they gave the signal for Interjet to use the ramp and take off. The attendants at their counters are RUDE also. Which makes the rest of the issues much worse to tolerate if on top of everything they're rude. Just pay the extra 40 or 50 bucks to fly American airlines, Delta or Volaris (which has the most spacious leg space of any airline i have ever used) is good too. read more

My fiance and family had booked a flight (with trip insurance) for our wedding which was going to happen in Mexico. We showed up at the airport ready to go and they told us the flight was cancelled. We didn't receive any phone calls, emails, or texts about the flight being cancelled but just the airport told us when we got there. The next day we were on the phone arguing for about 2 hours and then we were told we would receive a full refund in 8-10 weeks for the cancelled flight. Eventually we received an email that Interjet denied our request to process a refund for the "non-refundable ticket(s) since it does not meet the current refund exception policy." I am very upset by the lack of communication with the cancelled flight, the back and forth conflicting information regarding the refund, the useless trip insurance, and paying over $1500 USD to Interjet for doing absolutely nothing. read more

If, however, you want smooth travels or you're traveling with little kids...avoid it all costs. Checking in car seats and strollers, for example, will set you back $30 each, unless you drop them off right before you enter your plane (in direct contradiction to their baggage policy stated on their website). I tried to buy a Return Ticket from Toronto to Cancun on April 29th, The flight was from Feb 22nd 2020 to Feb 29th 2020. For some strange reason after I inserted my credit card number, the booking reference only had the flight for Feb22nd. I am not if it was a bug in the website, due to the return flight was Feb 29th. I called right away interjet to complain about the issue. After tons of emails, they agreed to refund my money. But up to this date I haven't seen it in my account. I constantly send email to them, but I barely get a response. I have been talking mostly to "Omar Alejandro Loyola Barron" from customer service. And I have been frustrated, because I think Interjet is only trying to waste my time and trying to get away without refunding their own mistake. I read all the reviews of Interjet and I also checked the prices for my flight. There is a good reason why so many people travel with them. The reason being , it is among the least expensive. I did not expect much so it was better than what I expected with one exemption. So the good things first, plenty of leg room, I've gone in planes where there is not enough space from side to side or legroom whatsoever, on the plane I few, it was comfortable. As for the food, I did not expect anything but I got some snacks and they were OK. I got some wine and drinks so that was relaxing. Overall the flight attendants were also friendly. On the bad side, I had to pay for my luggage since they have weight and size restrictions, so make sure you read the fine print. I just paid, still saved overall. Would I fly on this airline? Interjet cancelled my flight from Cabo. They offered another flight routed through Mexico City that added an additional 6 hours to my travel time. I opted to rebook with another airline and they stated they would refund me for the cancelled flight. I was told they could not refund to my credit card due to some international regulations but would deposit money directly to my bank account. After submitting account number, routing number, SWIFT code, and bank name and address they requested proof in the form of a bank statement. Submitted a redacted statement and again received a request for proof of the info I had initially sent. Have not heard any more from them despite repeated attempts requesting info on the status of the refund. Do business with them if you must but be warned it may cost you! read more

I booked a flight with Interjet from Houston to Cuba and initially I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never heard of them before. There was a sale on their site and I was able to book 5 one way flights for $142 each (with a layover in Mexico City)! The day of the flight it boarded about 20 mins late but nothing to be concerned about. Worst customer service ever! Misleading information from Interjet staff made me miss my flight! On July 24th I had a 6:45pm flight from Mexico City to Bogotá, Colombia. I showed up 2 hours before my flight as it was recommended on the email I got from Interjet. I don't speak Spanish enough yet so I showed my flight information on my phone to a lady welcoming the passengers at the Interjet gate on the first floor of the airport. She said to go to the third line which is " checkin without boarding pass ". The line was terribly long. I waited about one hour and I was stressing out because I saw the sign saying that flights close 45 minutes before take off time. When I finally got to the counter, I showed my flight information and passport to the lady. She immediately said that it was the Domestic flight counter and that I needed to go upstairs to Puerta 9 for international checkin. I told her I had very little time left and that the other lady made me wait in this wrong line but there was nothing she wanted to do for me. I ran upstairs with all my luggage and it took me a good 15 minutes to get to the international interjet counter. When I showed my info and my passport to the staff, it was 6:05pm. They told me with no compassion that the flight was closed and I needed to buy an an extra ticket because I got there too late. Even though I explained my situation of misleading information from the first staff member who told me to go to the domestic flight queue... the supervisor old man said there was nothing he could do. At that point I was crying and hyperventilating because I paid a lot of money for that flight to Colombia. He was really rude and told me to leave and buy another ticket. I sat in a corner crying and panicking because the one-way flights I looked up for the same night were 1000$ Cad. I had already paid 500$ Cad for this return flight. A nice interviewer staff member of Interjet came to help me out. I decided to go talk to the supervisor of domestic flights. I showed her evidence from my email that I was given the information of 2 hours prior to flight departure. She argued that it was the wrong web page because it's really 3 hours. Since it's not my responsibility to double check every info I get by email I kept asking for a replacement flight. She told me again that I needed to prove that I was given the wrong info by showing which lady pointed me the wrong queue at the beginning. I said that they should check their cameras and that she should find which staff member was working at that time (she wasn't there anymore). She said it wasn't possible and i should talk to customer service. Another woman brought me to a different counter. I waited about 20 minutes before someone told me what was going on. The supervisor Hermando made more verifications and confirmed that my flight was lost. I had to pay the difference between the cost of my original flight and a new one... by paying 500-1000 US$! I argued that it wasn't my mistake but their staff's so I refused to pay such a big amount. I talked to customer service on the phone with a clerk and then a supervisor who both said the same thing. Oh but they filed my complaint apparently. I asked how they would follow up on it... but they said it's only for internal purposes. I asked to get a call or email with a resolution. I also told them that they should check the cameras to find out. The investigation couldn't be done immediately apparently. So I will probably never find out or get any kind of refund/arrangement. While I was on the phone I checked all the bad reviews Interjet got for similar situations... told the supervisor that if they wanted to keep their customers happy they should take responsibility for their mistakes. They didn't even want to write me a note for my hostel reservation in Bogotá that I lost in consequence of all of this. The last supervisor and the interviewer both told me that Interjet never refund or replace flights for free no matter what. I've been traveling for over 15 years and never saw such unprofessional airline staff members, such awful customer service. Too bad for them but they won't have many Canadian passengers anymore as I will take this to another level with my lawyer if there's no resolution. I will wait impatiently for a response even though they didn't seem to care to get back to me. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't afford such a big expense on my 2 months trip. I purchased these tickets 9 months in advance and in April when I called customer service at Interjet to make sure all was intact with my flight, I was informed that the flight had been cancelled due the fact that Interjet was no longer providing direct flights to Cancun. No one called to inform me of this information, so had I not called I would have gone to the airport unaware of the situation. That is very unprofessional on your part. I was offered a refund or different flight with layover. I chose a refund. The refund was never issued. I disputed the charge with my credit card and was issued a refund until Interjet charged it back to my card. I had to pay $752.36 for a flight cancelled by you that was promised to be refunded. I have tried to contact Interjet on 10 occasions to either receive a refund on my card or a voucher for 2 tickets. They tell me that they have no record of me or a flight, they put me on hold and transfer me never to pick up the call again or send me to someone who speaks no English. I am so distraught over this treatment. I will never recommend Interjet to anyone an as far as I am concerned, you stole my money, promised a refund and there is no-one there to help. Don't ever fly with this airline My husband and I missed our connecting flight in Mexico City cause the interjet flight out of Cancun was delays twice and when we got to MEX the flight to LAX was gone! Next Interjet flight to LAX was the next morning and when we asked for hotel credit the agent told us that it was our fault that we missed the flight not the airline and they won't cover the hotel for us. When we asked to speak to her manager she got angry and ripped our new boarding passes and told us that we lost the flight! We already had a confirmation for the next day flight so we tried to check in the next day and they told us we can not! My InterJet flight from Mexico City to Lima was 3 hours delayed and missed my connecting flight from Lima to Chile via JetSmart. I'm currently stranded at the airport in Peru. As we are all aware of the COVID pandemic going on I'm unable to go on my vacation, in order to stay healthy and to prevent spreading anything to those around me and my loved ones. You call the number provided and it gives a message saying all lines are business without getting you through or at least giving you and option to put your number on a call back list. I like Interjet, I enjoy the snacks they provide for free. I'm petite but seats are pretty comfortable for the economical price. I had been buying my tickets using jetfly.com but I'm going to use interjet.com and buy my tickets directly for the first time. I will update how that goes. I read some of the reviews about problems with bags. I have a small carry-on so that's been pretty good for me. Shame on interjet not refunding customers who are no longer able to travel due to COVID-19. Not only that, they CANCELLED my flight without any notification. I will not accept a voucher (that they sent me after I called them) and will be battling for a refund through my credit card. If an airline cancels a flight, they are required to offer a refund. Do not let them steal your money. On top of that, waited over half an hour to speak with someone from customer service only to get treated rudely, transferred without any notice, and then treated rudely again by the next rep. They don't care about customer service at the Medellian Airport. Very firm and rude. All they want is money like a 5 year old kid who wants money to buy a new toy. They have no heart. #Heartless. I wanted an aisle seat and they wanted me to pay and they refused to give me an emergency seat because I told them my stomach was a little upset. Just be aware that if they loose your bag it is on you to get it back. They will not have it delivered to your home or hotel like every other airline. Also to get your bag you have to sit around the airport for hours waiting for a flight to board or take off or some other such event. If there is no flight when you come to retrieve your bag you are SOL. I will never fly interjet again if you are flying them do not check a bag it is a nightmare. read more

*****I've made a huge mistake***** Our trip is four months away and I already hate this airline. I made a mistake and booked one day earlier than intended. Caught my mistake within 24 hours and they still charged me a change fee. Told them the rule is any change or cancellation within 24 hours is at no charge. NOT WITH INTERJET!!! Add $292.60 onto my fare. Today I checked the fare and it had gone down by over $100.00 per person. Called them to refund the difference, was told that I agreed to the fare when I booked and they would nor refund the difference. Was told "we don"t do refunds"!!! Wish I had read the reviews. Will update upon our return. I'm sure that Interjet is not done with having their way with us. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST flight I have EVER been on. I originally had a non-stop flight from Guadalajara to Tijuana for 11/12/19. They changed my flight without my consent to a flight in July 2020. I called them and they offered a connection flight from Guadalajara to Mexico City to Tijuana that meant I would arrive 5 hours later than I originally would have. My flight from Guadalajara to Tijuana was delayed 55 minutes. Then I had a 3 hour lay over in Mexico City. I am currently sitting in the plane that was suppose To depart to Tijuana at 9pm and it is currently 10:31. To top it off, the majority of internet staff was rude and unwilling to help. I stood in front of the counter and was ignored for at least 5-7 minutes until I raised my voice and she was still unwilling to help. This is the worst ! The worst airline. Do not try to save money by choosing this airline. Save yourself the trouble. If I could give them ZERO stars I would. read more
