Everything looks new and modern and airy. The dining room is also cheerful and bright. The staff is very kind. The menu had several options. My chicken salad was tasty. My grandmother's bedroom is very large, as is the bathroom. The room has an individual thermostat.. she's always freezing so wants to keep her room pretty warm. Right outside her hallway is a common seating area and there's always a new puzzle being worked on the table. I have nothing to do with her living arrangements and have no relationship with the caregivers but when I visit there, I feel good about her living there. I know she's happy, attended to, and has everything she needs. This is the third place she's lived since she's needed to be in somewhat assisted living, and I feel like this one wins out on quality.

We moved all our mother's furniture and items into Monarch in the midst of her taking a decline in health, going from her Independent Living apartment to physical Rehab facility to UTSW Clements in 5 short weeks.. She never got to see her new apartment as 2 weeks into what would have been her first month at Monarch, she had to be transferred to TBoone/Faith Hospice. Since she was paying both for her last month in the IL Apartment, plus Monarch, we asked for some financial refund consideration from Monarch given that Mom was unable to move in (in fact she passed yesterday, 12 hours after hospice). We can't thank Monarch enough for how reasonable, compassionate, and caring they were toward her situation (and of this writing they don't even know she's passed). They agreed to do something for us in terms of a credit consideration that was most appreciated and above-and-beyond. These are good people running Monarch. We so wish our mom would have agreed to move sooner as she would have thrived here.

Last May, my mother in law moved into the independent living at the Wellington. There was still some of the same staff from 9 years ago. (That says a lot in itself). Everyone welcomed her and made sure she was included in activities. She received encouragement and support that helped her with the transition of downsizing and being recently widowed. She adapted quickly and was extremely happy to have found friends. After only being there for 4 months she became ill and hospitalized, during that time the staff at the Wellington continued to care for her cat. My mother in law was admitted into hospice and the Director of the Wellington made sure that her final days were at her home with familiar surroundings. He guaranteed an hourly well check on her and making sure they would turn her every 2 hrs. We are glad she didn't suffer long and that she was comfortable in her last days. The Director & staff checked with us regularly to offer help and support during her last days, they even found her cat a home. I would have given a 5 star rating except that the facility needs some updating, but floor plans and the windows make up for that. Can't say enough good things about both independent and assisted living at the Wellington!

My husband was a resident at Lindan Park for 6 weeks before his death. He entered the facility as…read morea rehab patient, but his care turned to long-term care as his health deteriorated. He received wonderful care at this facility. They watched over his condition and paid special attention as his health declined. He was kept clean and with each new challenge that came along, they were aware of each problem and acted in his best interest. Although he was on a special diet, I observed that the residents had very good food. Across from his room was an activity board that showed all of the interesting activities that were offered to all of the residents. Lindan Park smelled very clean. It did not have the "Nursing Home Odor". As my husband's life was slipping away, the staff was very kind to both my husband and me. When I didn't leave his side, they provided meals for me and were so understanding of my situation. It had not been my intention to put my husband into a nursing home. I kept him at home as long as I could. But, the time came when I could no longer care for him. I'm so thankful that Linda Park was there to do for him what I could not. However, if you can not advocate for your loved one everyday this is not the place for them. I'vd had countless phone calls, text and email conversations to get things right and they don't change. What does change is the staff they have a horrific turnover and can not keep a Director, Asst Director or care staff. I am constantly having to complain about the cleanliness of my mom's room, taking out her trash (incontenant supplies) no one answering her emergency pendant and medication list errors. If I were you I'd look past the stunning atmosphere and think about the care your loved one needs.

Since that time the facility changed management & became The Preston of the Park Cities. My mother has been a resident since the place first opened as Harbor Chase. The place is gorgeous and they are far more creative with their food and menus than any other place we initially looked at. Although there has been turnover in staff over the years, the best key players on staff stayed & have become real assets to the place. When Covid hit we were tremendously concerned about how this would be dealt with and how the residents would be protected. Watermark, who is the management company have done a phenomenal job handling the pandemic and keeping residents safe and their families well informed. The staff & residents were fully vaccinated by late January. Finding a great place for a parent, spouse or relative who needs assistance can be a very trying time in everyone's life. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place for them than The Preston of the Park Cities.
