He is either crooked or has no clue about step cracks?! He flat out lied to me when I asked about them saying stress was probably put on the walls from when they put in the garage floor! I now, 2 months into having the house have to have people come in and put me drains in my basement for$28,000!!! He told my lawyer that he didn't know what they were?! Well why did he mark the box on the report he typed up with an"X" marking the box saying there are "NONE" next to the words STEP CRACKS!? People tend to play dumb when they don't know what to say! I am furious- don't trust this man either he is literally the worst at his job on the world and has a fake certification or he is crooked and lies to you to take a cut of the agents pay on the side because what other reason would someone neglect, miss, omit, and flat out lie to someone about the house and not tell them about the problems they are going to have to deal with that are very very costly! That's just one thing he lied about, he didn't even document a broken joyce, rotten roof, aluminum wiring- i could go on and on and on.. I'm writing this because I just hired anther home inspector, Girl Home Inspections and they were very thorough and now I have a complete idea of everything he didn't tell me about! Stay away from this man- stay far away! I bought a house on Crittenden in Alden, NY and used him and this house should have been move in ready and molding was falling off the walls, they left furniture behind to cover holes in the walls, its going on 2 months of owning it and I'm another $50k in the hole and still not moved in! Aside from him refusing to test for radon (because he says radon is a "hoax"), it seemed like a fairly standard inspection. However, it's become painfully clear since that he did not do his job at all. For one, he cited problems that weren't real... Mike said they needed vents installed in the roof. When my in-laws hired a roofer to do that, the guy pointed out that the roof already had vents. Mike said there was dangerous mold growing by the sump pump. When my in-laws hired a professional to clean that out, the guy said it wasn't mold at all, it was just silt and very common to build up around sump pumps. The problems Mike DIDN'T find are far more serious... The furnace, AC, and fridge all had to be replaced within a year of the purchase. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars worth of problems Mike missed in his inspection. Not to mention the fact that EVERY single contractor who has come to do work on the house has found various parts that aren't up to code and has said they're shocked the house passed inspection. Mike was recommended to my in-laws by their attorney, who was clearly looking out for his paycheck--the faster they buy a house, the sooner he gets paid. If they hired a good inspector, the sale would have either been called off or negotiations would have dragged on. Mike is the type of inspector you hire in that situation--one who doesn't do his job at all, so the house sells fast. I would not recommend hiring Mike Harmony unless you want the fastest possible sale and don't mind spending your first 1-2 years dumping money into your new house.

I thought I found the perfect home and was dead set on going through with the purchase, after Mr. McCutcheon went through the entire property he provided an list of things he found and potential things he wanted me to consider. He thoroughly answered every question I had in regards to his findings. I quickly realized this home looked good but was not as impressive as it seemed. I walked away from the home and continued my search for over a year.
