PS: Too bad the Downtown Topeka Parking Patrol makes shopping downtown difficult! I went to the bank, a shop, and this store. You'd have to shove me into a Jared, and Zales screams cheese to me. Thankfully, there are places that epitomize humble class--to me, the mark of a fine everyperson's jeweler--like Briman's. Though Briman's recently maintained two locations, including a mall storefront, they've consolidated to a downtown location, which was wise--in addition to removing themselves from that nasty context, they're showing support for Topeka's downtown and defining a respectable old-fashioned business ethos. As a newbie jewelry customer, I had no hesitation asking questions, browsing, or inquiring as to services they offer. Though I did not buy my engagement ring at Briman's (opting for something vintage), I brought it there to be sized, confident that they would treat me and the ring with respect and attention. And of course they did. They were complimentary of my purchase, honest with their estimate, and quick with the work. Though we live in Lawrence, I'll encourage my new fiancé to head to Topeka for cleanings, repairs, and future shopping.
