B & L Insulation - 9:32 AM, repairman talking on cell phone, still hasn't gone into crawlspace yet.

B & L Insulation

The owner , James D****, came and looked at my 4 foot crawl space to estimate the job. He had…read moreinstalled the fiberglass insulation 17 years ago during new construction and there was a lot of sagging that needed repair. He did not offer an estimate but said he could get it taken care of. I had once done this repair myself with the help of a grandson however that was no longer an option due to my knee issues. James' employee came to my house 8/24/2022 @ 9:00 and let me know he was ready to work. He then went back to his truck and for the next half hour he smoked, drank and talked on his cell phone. At 9:32 my security camera showed he was still not under the house but next to the crawl space door still on the phone. After this he finally went in to work. At 10:00 I checked to see how he was progressing with re-securing the fiberglass insulation into the floor beams. He said everything was dry and since he could not see any serious problems he said he should be done soon. At about 10:18 he came out and said he was done with the job. I looked at what he had done during the 45 minutes and I judged it as OK. He then handed me a bill for $250 to cover his 45 minutes of labor and a half box of metal rods needed to re-secure the sagging insulation. A quick call to the owner James confirmed the $250 charge was correct for a 45 minute job. I wrote him a check and he left. I accept this overcharge as my fault for not checking this companies references and getting a written quote before allowing the job. If you want to get ripped off for a 1 hour job by an untrustworthy business then this is the place for you to call. Good Luck
