I found Master An and he was so welcoming! 30 years older (58) and overweight with a lot of broken parts, he takes what you have left and works with you and your abilities. I am working my way back up to where I was, lost over 60 pounds and look forward to the next class because it is so fun here! We really are a family. There are complete families who attend here - mom, dad, kids and have been here for years. Even the kids who have gone off to school always come back here on their breaks to take class. Master An is a wonderful instructor. He is so perfect with the little ones! The kids really seem to enjoy their classes, and you can tell he has so much fun teaching them! This is not a huge school where you are a nobody. Since everyone is at a different level, he gives special attention to each person. Everyone here is very encouraging to each other. It's obvious he doesn't want to be there, and he's just going through the motions without much genuine concern for the kids. The kumdo class is offered, but it's not beneficial at all, and no one attends.

It was also a great support system, since a lot of us were in high school and we would often times meet up during the weekends for tutoring/homework sessions. There were adults who would enroll their kids and then sign up for classes themselves to stay in shape and get involved, so the overall community was well-balanced and honestly, just great fun (: I think BBTKD is unlike any other "American" martial arts studio in the sense that they won't pass students simply because their parents can pay. They really push you to work hard, and discipline is everything. You can't expect to go in and drop some dimes to get a black belt. Overall, a GREAT experience. If you're serious about learning Tae Kwon Do, I highly recommend !

Master Jun does a great job of guiding the kids firmly but gently, pushing them just enough to help them overcome obstacles and my girls get the workout of their lives every class! There are skills that they learn (like a 10 point routine to earn their first white belt) and seeing the pride on my girls' faces when they got their white belt was so rewarding. When given the option, the girls chose Taekwondo over ballet this year. It's a great option for boys and girls alike to build confidence, learn important skill and values while getting their energy out! I would highly recommend.
