I went for a tarot reading. The woman had an impressive bio online with relevant and tarot experience. It was all rather phony, generic and not informative. Usually from intuitive readings I expect a mix of accurate and intelligent guesses anyway; but for me, this reading was a lesson: clear your barriers to your own intuition because most psychics, etc., are not genuine even though they may think they are. read more

I went in with my daughter for her 18 birthday. This was inarguably a huge moment for us, and I decided to commemorate this huge step in our lives as my daughter gets ready to fly off into her adulthood. I bought is both a peice of jewelry, one being a shattukite ring that was 175 dollars. Within two days the stone had fallen out of its sterling silver band and had broken like chalk. I bought the Black Cat Oracle Deck here and though it was a little pricey I felt good knowing I was supporting a local artist. I also love their crystal display and how it's organized by color. I spirit crystals is a good witchy gem shop for kids that love geodes, and witchcraft stuff. I went in with my dad and everything in there was really high quality stuff but everything was also way over priced. I bought a ring with a a purple crystal inside of it and it was tiny enough to fit my finger and the lady told my dad that he needs to buy this ring for me, so he said " how much is it" she said it was 59 bucks. He ended up buying the ring, I fell in love with it and never took it off. I had a really weird experience with it after a day or two I was in the bathroom with my mom and I looked down at my ring and it was BLUE!!!!!!! I told her and she thought it was blue before but it was purple as soon as we stepped out of the bathroom it turned purple almost immediately. And it still turns blue when I'm in a yellow light, but when I'm under a white light it's purple. I'm a dancer and they have yellow lights in my studio and it's always blue when I'm there so I'm thinking it is yellow light today I'm going there to find out. But other than the overpriced cheap items this place is a really great place. I hope you have fun to going here if you end up coming. Have a great rest of your dad! read more

I felt a sense of well-being the moment I walked in ... between the incense, the meditation music. They have high quality wares (and I walked out with several of them), although their "crystals" -- what laymen would call "polished minerals" -- are as overpriced as such things usually are in such shops. Prices are indeed high, but the selection is broad (and this is Northampton, after all, not a town for bargains), and while they do indeed peddle something for many a New Age taste, the place is far less kitschy than others with a similar business plan. The staff was perfectly polite and entirely accommodating to my needs and questions, even though I visited during a Noho sidewalk sale, and the place was jammed. I wonder at all the reviews claiming that staff was "rude," and wonder if it's just that New Age shoppers are more prone to being Shopzillas than most, demanding that staff kneel before them and kiss their feet. read more

This is a great little shop, pricey as others noted and I can't speak to their readings but they have a vast selection of many things from angel and tarot cards to varying books on astrology, Tao/Dao, Goddesses, Reiki, Mindfulness, Angels etc. and an abundance of statues, crystals, trinkets etc. As someone who frequents similar stores when I travel this store has a great deal. I like how with almost every crystal there is info on what it is used for, most stores do not have this and it makes picking the perfect stone for you that much easier if you aren't familiar or feel called to a particular stone. I was in town and had never visited Northampton before- So, I decided to check out this shop as I love these types of shops. It smells really good in there, lots of products to choose from, good selection of tarot cards/ crystals. The woman behind the counter was nice. I got a 20 min reading for fun by Catharine (yesterday, Sunday) I liked her a lot. She was really good- I read cards too but am not a professional. So, I was able to follow along and agree. She was able to give me specifics that blew my mind. She was honest, blunt and realistic with her message -which I appreciate. I left feeling happy. I left feeling reassured that I am doing the right things. She was lovely. read more

I have mixed feelings as I write this. The shop is stocked with beautiful things, much of which I didn't even get to scope out, as I came in with a particular gift-buying agenda and a very limited budget. There are stones and crystals galore and all sorts of books, tarot cards, oracle decks, etc. All forms of spirituality seem to be represented here (which I suppose could be more or less desirable depending on the particular individual). I bought a deck of tarot cards, opting not to get the guidebook along with it. The next day I discovered that the deck was priced lower on the artist's website and that, were I to buy the deck and guidebook bundle from the website rather than Inspirit, I'd save $15 (plus an additional 10% off with a discount code). This, along with the realization that I couldn't comfortably afford the deck at this time, caused me to make the hour-plus-long journey out to Northampton to return my purchase. The operative piece of this rather rambly review is that the deck was unopened. I had bought it just two weeks prior to returning it. It's a very popular current deck with an avid fan base and I'm sure will sooner or later sell out as the first deck by this artist did. Again - unopened. Anyway, long story long, I arranged to meet a friend for dinner out that way so that I wouldn't be driving two and a half hours round-trip simply to make a return. I was told by the person working the register that they only accepted returns for store credit. I pointed out that this was an unopened item and that I had my receipt. She made a phone call to another associate, and after some back and forth between the two of them over the phone with my standing there, fingers crossed, they decided to take my item back. I'm glad that that was their final answer, but it was awkward, and I wasn't really prepared to plead that they return my money, seeing as how it was a recently made, (did I mention unopened?) purchase, with receipt in hand. There was no mention made of a store credit-only return policy when I made my purchase. I had emailed the store about a week prior to making the trek out to return the cards, asking about their return policy, and had received no response. There was no information on the receipt or the website about the store's return policy. I can't say for certain that there's no information posted in the store anywhere, but I didn't notice any. Apparently this is the law in MA, and it varies state to state: http://www.mass.gov/ago/consumer-resources/consumer-information/retail-rights/attorney-generals-guide-to-retail-rights.html. I guess this is a lesson to me to ask about return policies ahead of time and not assume an across-the-board standard based on how just about everywhere else I've shopped has handled things. read more

I like this place. It has a nice selection of things and it's set up in a nice way. The only problem I have with this place is the problem that I have with these type of New Age stores in general, and it's that it's such a mash-up of completely different cultures and beliefs it can be a bit jarring, and some of these items are cultural appropriation and seem a bit skeevy. Other items are just completely off the wall like a tiny crystal penis, but I suppose there must be a market for them! The staff seemed pretty distracted and wasn't very friendly, but I sort of enjoy that as it gave me time to look at the selection on my own without feeling pressured. It's a bit overwhelming all the things they have here; it's a small store but they use their space well. Overall, my feeling is if you go in knowing what you want and are careful to be culturally respectful and are mindful of what you're actually buying, you'll probably enjoy it here. They just get knocked down a star for selling some side-eye-worthy items. The crystal selection is definitely where the shop shines (no pun intended!), which makes sense considering their name, and if you're into crystals or stones I'd definitely check it out. read more

Just popped in the other day and was impressed by their selection of incense and crystals. They have any scent you would ever need, plus holders for relatively cheap!They also have many beautiful one-of-a-kind stones that are well worth the money if you're willing to pay a good chunk of change for them. They also have a lot of religious statues/figures like Buddha and Ganesha, and some angels. However, they appeared to only have small tumbled Smokey quartz that were no larger than the size of my thumbnail, which was disappointing as I was looking for a slightly larger piece. They also have a smaller selection of tarot decks, and none that particularly popped out as interesting to me. The crystals definitely stole the show. The staff was friendly and laidback, but willing to answer any questions I may have had. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area looking for some metaphysical supplies. I usually just buy my basics here - smudge sticks, incense, candles - but their selection is insane. I could spend all day exploring their books and crystals. I had my eye on a beautiful statue there for awhile and I finally bought it a couple weeks ago and it was really exciting. The staff is friendly & welcoming. They sell crystals saying they are from a certain place but actually they are from Mexico. So they lie to make the sale then you get someone who has been a collector in the rock and mineral club and actually you don't have the piece you thought you had very misleading. read more

My partner and I visited Inspirit and spent about $50 buying a number of their cute little trinkets that fill the shelves. Among our purchases was a deodorant salt bar that was marked $8, an item that my girlfriend noticed came up on her receipt at $9.50. She brought the error to the attention of the sales clerk, but the clerk claimed the marked price was an error, and that the price that was rung up was correct. As proof, the manager, who had now become involved, had one of the employees collect 2 salt bars from the shelves that had a $9.50 price tag. My girlfriend pointed out that neither of the bars that were retrieved as examples were of the same manufacturer or brand as her $8 selection. "We'll give it to you", was the response, as though a favor had been made. read more

Great selection of overpriced rocks and crystals but horrendously snarky service. My mother (who walks with a cane) was at the door patiently waiting for them to open with me (we arrived a few minutes before opening time, which is noon and closed Friday and Saturday). Finally the guy comes to the door, unlocks it, and leaves it shut in my mother's face. Not even a hello or welcome - no acknowledgement whatsoever that we were patiently waiting there. Once we entered, he just barked at us to put on hand sanitizer and socially distance - things we do anyways. He was so rude and so uncaring that it was really quite appalling to us both. We did end up buying some things and the lady at the cash register was slightly more amiable, but we will NEVER return to this store. Bizarre opening hours, expensive, and horrendous, snarky service (if you could even call it "service"). To treat an older woman with a cane who just wants to spend money in your store with such rudeness and disdain is unacceptable. For that alone they should be put out of business. read more

When I walked into the store at 12:01, she had given my reservation to someone else who walked in. My recommendation: pay in advance if you want to be given any consideration or courtesy.
