We all suffer from the various stressors of our modern world: work, family, political and societal issues, not to mention a global pandemic. These cause a multitude of other issues within our bodies. Lack of focus, anxiety, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, to name just a few. I felt that what we all needed, myself included, was a way to ease that stress, to heal our bodies and our minds. This belief led me to explore different holistic healing modalities. I've been practicing meditation for over 40 years and have taught in both individual and group settings to all age groups from pre-school to senior citizens. Adding Chakra balancing and the healing energy of Reiki to my practice has enhanced my personal sense of peace and wellbeing tremendously. My mission through my practice is to help others find healing and peace through the many benefits of Reiki and Meditation.

I knew that the likelihood of me getting an appointment before Christmas was slim, but she managed to squeeze me in on a Saturday morning. I had previously worked at a Spa for several years, and had the pleasure of being the guinea pig on new techniques, so I feel very comfortable getting massages. I was greeted by my therapist who took a few minutes to get to know me, what I do, and if I was in any discomfort. She took me back to the room and got right to work. I love that you don't need to undress, which allowed for a full hour of body work. Prior to visiting Ground Luminosity, I had never had Shiatsu massage, but have recommending it to anyone and everyone that will listen. I expected some relief after my session, but didn't anticipate a full recovery. Shiatsu massage is unlike any massage I've ever had, it was not only relaxing but was truly healing. I'd like to say "Thank you" to Curran and her staff at Ground Luminosity for making sure I started off 2020 on the right foot!

The grounds with the trees…read moreand pond, geese, labyrinth, paths, bees and garden are so peaceful and gives ample space for mind and body. I was able to take a little over 24 hours in this serene home to meditate, walk, read and sit with Sister Maria for an hour of spiritual direction which felt like cool water. Whatever your faith or place in this world this home and center opens its doors for quiet and discernment. Sister Maria explained that the history of the house has always been for justice and discernment so there is a rich legacy on these grounds from those who were here before. There is also a quiet beautiful cemetery nearby for long walks and quiet reflection. The room I stayed in had big windows and natural light poured in during the day. I am already planning my next silent meditation retreat. (The center also offers big beautiful rental spaces for gathering. ) Thank you for the love, Cranaleith!

The sisters and administrative manager could not have been nicer or more helpful. The atmosphere is very peaceful with a labyrinth pond, chickens and geese, and beehives/honey produced on the premises. The retreat's name in Gaelic refers to a sanctuary of trees. I highly recommend it to anyone desiring a break from worldly cares to rest and rejuvenate. The site is easily reached by commuter train from Philadelphia and the house has an interesting history as host to suffragettes like Susan B. Anthony.

She was really awesome about keeping a slow pace and giving easy modifications for almost every pose. Each class she added more poses to the Ashtanga flow. The class size was was small and intimate, so Shari was able to give each of us a lot of personalized attention. She also taught us the opening chant. I have since "graduated" from the Yoga Basics course and started taking Ashtanga Foundations classes in the evenings. The Monday night class with Erica was a little crowded (maybe a dozen yogis), so I felt cramped after my intimate experience with the Yoga Basics course. Erica as a teacher was great (I wasn't used to such a fast pace)! She acknowledged that I was new and paid close attention to my poses. The Sunday evening class with Meredith/Cassie was more intimate with 5 yogis (surprisingly, mostly men). We opened the class with the opening chant and there was enough time to work on some hip opening poses towards the end. I left this class feeling high on life. The studio itself is quaint and homey. The area where you leave your shoes can get a bit crowded between classes. The atmosphere is immediately calming with quiet music, incense, candles, water fountains and an altar. There is a second room for meditation and I'm guessing massage. There are two bathrooms as well. Yoga mats and other accessories are available for purchase on site.

There are classes for beginners and more experienced students alike but what sets it apart from any other studio in 40 miles radius is Mysore program. The best class for beginners, and advanced students alike. Everybody moves at their own pace, truly non competitive and very safe environment.
