Bought a Hearthstone brand Lincoln soapstone woodstove from everwarm. Ordered end of November…read more2023. Didn't arrive until February 2024. Problems with fire burning after closing stove door and almost goes completely out when closing the "bypass handle" after reaching temperature indicated on the catalyst thermometer as instructed. Called to complain. Said they'd send installers out to take a look. Since the woodstove is the only source of heat in our home, we had to keep using it but it acted more like a pellet stove than a woodstove. 2 weeks later, installers come out and add a 10" extension chimney. They attempted to start the fire and it did the same thing for them. Installers said they had a 4 inch air intake that might help but they wouldn't advise it as it may make the house too hot. Ours has a 3 inch. They left saying they were going to contact the manufacturer and get back to us. Didn't happen. Baffle board broke and couldn't use stove at all. They said the manufacture was notoriously slow in responding to orders and we didn't get the baffle board until summer. Still complained about the stove not burning and they said they would get back to us. Started using the stove again when the weather started to turn cold and complained again and was told they've been having issues with that particular model and went on to say why. I also told them what the installers said about a 4 inch intake and the person said they disagreed with that assessment. Was told that she would talk with their installers and get back to us. Didn't happen. I called back a week and a half later and spoke to a different person and again gave the same complaint. She also said they were having issues with that particular model. She also said she didn't agree with the installers assessment regarding the size of the air intake. She said she would email the area rep, out of Utah and that he may come and take a look at it. She also advised they may have to replace it with a different stove. She then said she'd get back to me. Didn't happen. I called them over a week later and spoke to the same person. She didn't remember our conversation until I reminded them that they were to have sent an email to the area rep. She then said she would talk to one of the installers who was in the store and also call the area rep instead of an email, then get back to me. Didn't happen. Tried calling back but no answer. Recording said to leave a message, press 1. pressed 1 and was told that wasn't one of the options. Tried calling back the next day and recording said they would be out of the office until January. Today is 12/22/24. I know this is a lot but I want/need a warm house!!! Scott P

I pictured spending thousands of dollars for an end result I wouldn't be happy with. Wow was I wrong! Catherine started the process by meeting with us a few times at the construction site. We then discussed what kind of feel we wanted for the house, and being total amateurs, we had a hard time describing what we wanted. We quickly discovered one of her gifts is helping you come up with a plan that is yours, but will flow beautifully, from outside, to inside, then all together. As my wife and I are both fairly conservative on our tastes, we loved the fact that Catherine pushed us to expand our horizons in our choices more than we would have without her. The end result is a home we love more than we ever thought we could! She is also very cost conscious on spending someone else's money, which was a pleasant surprise. I'm guessing her recommendations on where to shop for some items (lights, for example) saved us enough to almost pay for our work with her. Bottom line, every time we drive up to our new home, we know we made a great choice in hiring Catherine!

We'd never worked with an interior designer and weren't sure where to start. I went to Yelp and found Catherine there and was impressed with the reviews - and I liked the feel of her website too. We called Catherine and said, "we're buying a new house, we want to have the whole house painted and re-carpeted and we want the wood floors refinished and we need some new furniture too. Oh, and we need it done in 2 months and we won't be here at all during the process. Can you help?" She never hesitated. She said, "Sure, I'll be right over, let's get started." Amazing, right?! AND she managed the entire project, involved us in the decision making process while not overwhelming us, worked with the contractors, kept us updated, AND made sure that everything was done when we got back to Sequim two months later! Truly, she's a miracle worker. Catherine has also helped us with furnishing the house, figuring out where to put furniture, hanging pictures, and dealing with all the little details that make a house a showplace. She's even gone shopping with us to pick out furniture and she's worked with vendors, scheduled appointments, gotten quotes, and done a million things that saved us time. Perhaps most importantly, she's gently steered us away from things that really wouldn't look right. Through it all, Catherine has been kind, gracious, patient, trustworthy, and reliable. She does what she says she will do - and more. She's also really fun to work with and she's such a nice person. We've also found all of her billing to be very fair and reasonable. We've referred Catherine to friends without hesitation. Trust me on this, if you work with her, you'll be glad you did!

Olympic National Park Visitor Center is in Port Angeles on the road to Hurricane Ridge. It has plenty of parking spaces and a welcome sign that you can get a photo in front of. This was my first visit to Olympic National Park. I appreciated the help that I received from the staff here. They gave me information on how to navigate my way around the park. I was excited to make the trek up to Hurricane Ridge for the day. It is one of the most visited areas of Olympic National Park. I wanted to do the Hurricane Hill hike while I was here. The park ranger explained to me how to get to the trailhead and where to park. Because the Wi-Fi is spotty in this area, they have paper maps available. Olympic National Park Visitor Center is also a gift shop and sells snacks and beverages. The building itself is spacious and has two levels. There are exhibits about the park's natural and cultural history, a discovery room for kids and a film that plays throughout the day. Make sure you check out the wildflowers out front and the nature trails behind the building. Also, don't forget to stamp your national park passport book while you are here. There are entrance stations on Hurricane Ridge Road once you pass this visitor center. The drive up to Hurricane Ridge is around 17 miles. Hurricane Ridge Road sometimes closes in the winter due to avalanches.
