I pop in quite often (I have a stationery problem) and I rarely leave empty handed. They're really great for getting in new stock and are fantastic at sourcing cool stuff I've never seen before, which makes it ideal for buying gifts (even for one's self...) This is actually their sister shop, the original shop is called Curious & Curiouser is based at the bottom of Broughton Street and it's just as great!

It's such a shame for a small village to have hardly any facilities available to passing trade our group was glad to see this place, that has one side that is used as an antique shop and the other for a tea room. The cafe has not got a hot food licence so can only offer sandwiches and a bowl of soup if you are lucky, we where at least able to get a good cup of tea and something to eat to recharge our batteries. My friend had a sandwich with the only choice available being cheese and tomato, but there is a good selection of home baking on display. The lady that served us was nice and chatty, that made our visit a pleasant experience.

Not only did the owners stay open a little later for us they also allowed us to bring in our wee dog and we were then treated to an assortment of homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and teas and coffees all at a very reasonable price. The two ladies running the shop are just lovely - really friendly and chatty added to the whole experience and you are surrounded by beautiful, ornate vintage homeware and oddities. It's like a step back in time this little gem of a place where your tea is served in beautiful china tea cups and saucers in a homely enviroment. Definitely worth stopping in if you are passing through / in the area.

It's also a mix of vintage, modern and new. By comparison to similar shops in Edinburgh it's quite cheap and they have a very good January sale. The store is really small and packed full of stock so if you want something from the back it may take a while to move everything so you can buy it. If you see something that you want then buy it as it might not be there when you come back the next day. The owner is super friendly and will recommend other things in stock if something isn't quite right (or too big for the space you need a table for). For small gift and pretty things for presents it's also ideal. Sigh, someone just buy me it all ok?

This place is definitely worth a visit - and to support local shop owners! The owner was super sweet and gave great recommendations to places to see and eat around town !
